ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
Course Description
Prerequisite: None
Credit: 3 (3 lecture)

Course Objectives
The primary objectives is to help the student to understand organizational theory, group
dynamics, motivation theory, leadership concepts, and the integration of interdisciplinary
concepts from the behavioral sciences
The students will be able to describe the interactions that are involved in the human
resource functional areas.
These areas include:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of organizational structure.
2. Describe elements of organizational culture.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of types of organizational behavior.
4. Compare and contrast individual behavior.
5. Describe various aspects of leadership.

Detailed Course Evaluation:

Individual Personal Insight Summary Paper 25%
Group Report Based on Analysis of Class Group (due 11/24) 40%
Vigorous Class Participation 15%
Final Exam 30%

The standard grading scale of 90-100% equals an quot;Aquot; and so forth will be used.
Grade Score
A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 59 and below

Make-up Exam Policy:

You are expected to take each exam on the scheduled dates. Make-up exams are not
guaranteed, but are granted at the discretion of the instructor. If make-up exams are
allowed, it is necessary to makearrangements with the instructor prior to exam date.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
Explain organizational theory as it relates to management practices, employee relations,
and structure of the organization to fits its environment and operation analyze leadership
                                                                       ;
styles and determine their effectiveness in employeesituations; discuss experiences in
managing and resolving organizational problems; describe the impact of corporate culture
and atmosphere on employee behavior; and analyze and discuss team dynamics, team
building strategies, and cultural diversity.

Academic Honesty

Students are responsible for conducting themselves with honor and integrity in fulfilling
course requirements.
Penalties and/or disciplinary proceedings may be initiated by College System officials
against a student accused of scholastic dishonesty.
“ Scholastic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on a test, plagiarism, and
collusion.
“ Cheating on a test includes:
1. Copying from another student's test paper;
2. Using materials that are not authorized by the person giving the test;
3. Collaborating with another student during a test without authority;
4. Knowingly using, buying, selling, stealing, transporting, or soliciting, in whole or in part
the contents of an unadministered test;
5. Bribing another person to obtain a test that has not been administered.
“ Plagiarism means the appropriation of another's work and the unacknowledged
incorporation of that work in one's
own written work offered for credit.
“ Collusion means the unauthorized collaboration with another person in preparing written
work offered for credit.
