• Hazard communication is also known as the
“Right to Know”
• It is the responsibility of everyone to handle
chemical safely, understand chemical labels and
understand the Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS)

The information includes:
- Chemical name
- Emergency and first aid procedure
- Safe handling
- Health and physical hazards
- Date of preparation of MSDS
- Control measures
- PEL or the Permissible Exposure Limit
6. LABELING
The label must have the following:
- The chemical name
- Hazards of the chemical
- Manufacturer’s name and address
Unlabeled containers should never be used.
You should never remove a label from a container.
