Mission
 The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable
  Rotarians to advance world understanding,
goodwill, and peace through the improvement of
health, the support of education, and the
  alleviation of poverty.
 The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation
supported solely by voluntary contributions from
Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share
its vision of a better world.
Programs of The Rotary Foundation
 Through Foundation grants and programs,
Rotarians and other contributors can help change
the world. They can finance a well for a village that
lacks clean water, improve the environment, or
provide scholarships to educate the next
generation. The grants and programs available to
Rotarians allow them to realize Rotary’s
 humanitarian mission throughout the world,
including its number-one goal of eradicating
 polio.

TRF – Future Vision Plan
               Why was it adopted?

               The Foundation Trustees
                identified a growing need
                to focus efforts in order
                to achieve greater
                impact, more public
                recognition, and
                streamlined operations
                for improved efficiency.
What will change ?
 Under Future Vision, the Foundation offers two
types of grants. District grants are block grants
that enable clubs and districts to address
immediate needs in their communities and
abroad. Global grants offer opportunities to
  participate in strategically focused, high-impact
activities within the six areas of focus. Global
grants range from $30,000 to $400,000.
 This means minimum MG Project of $60,000
Are We ready for it ?
 Our District is currently not part of the Pilot
program, but from 2013-14, we shall have the
  same rules as others.
 A minimum MG project of $60,000 will be
really tough for Clubs who have not prepared
themselves to be ready for BIGGER projects.
 RC Vasco da gama has a TRF MG total of
$133,471 with the biggest one being $38,000
Areas of Focus
Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
Disease prevention and treatment
Water and sanitation
Maternal and child health
Basic education and literacy
Economic and community development
Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation
recognize these six areas of focus as organizational
priorities, and there are countless ways that Rotarians
can address these needs locally and internationally.
Packaged Global Grants
The Foundation is also developing packaged global grants
with its strategic partners. The World Fund and the
strategic partner provide 100 percent of the funding, while
Rotarians implement the grant project like:
 Partnering with an international organization to distribute
bio-sand water filters for villages that need clean water
 Partnering with an internationally recognized university to
provide graduate students with the opportunity to study
  infectious disease and maternal health
 Partnering with international organizations and respected
universities to provide vocational training to health
  workers in poor countries

Plan Projects in Advance
 With the Club Leadership Plan in place, plan your
projects for the next two years now.
 Keep an area of focus, carve your niche
 Try to enhance previous projects
 Partners are already looking at Future Vision focus
  areas
 Match your giving with the projects you are
  planning in the future.

RC Vasco da gama - TRF

  • 1.
  • 2. Mission  The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
  • 3. Programs of The Rotary Foundation  Through Foundation grants and programs, Rotarians and other contributors can help change the world. They can finance a well for a village that lacks clean water, improve the environment, or provide scholarships to educate the next generation. The grants and programs available to Rotarians allow them to realize Rotary’s humanitarian mission throughout the world, including its number-one goal of eradicating polio.
  • 4. TRF Grants PolioPlus Grants Humanitarian Grants Program  Disaster Recovery  District Simplified Grants  Matching Grants Educational Programs  Ambassadorial Scholarships  Group Study Exchange (GSE)  Rotary Peace Fellowships
  • 5. TRF – Future Vision Plan Why was it adopted? The Foundation Trustees identified a growing need to focus efforts in order to achieve greater impact, more public recognition, and streamlined operations for improved efficiency.
  • 6. What will change ?  Under Future Vision, the Foundation offers two types of grants. District grants are block grants that enable clubs and districts to address immediate needs in their communities and abroad. Global grants offer opportunities to participate in strategically focused, high-impact activities within the six areas of focus. Global grants range from $30,000 to $400,000.  This means minimum MG Project of $60,000
  • 7. Are We ready for it ?  Our District is currently not part of the Pilot program, but from 2013-14, we shall have the same rules as others.  A minimum MG project of $60,000 will be really tough for Clubs who have not prepared themselves to be ready for BIGGER projects.  RC Vasco da gama has a TRF MG total of $133,471 with the biggest one being $38,000
  • 8. Areas of Focus Peace and conflict prevention/resolution Disease prevention and treatment Water and sanitation Maternal and child health Basic education and literacy Economic and community development Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation recognize these six areas of focus as organizational priorities, and there are countless ways that Rotarians can address these needs locally and internationally.
  • 9. Packaged Global Grants The Foundation is also developing packaged global grants with its strategic partners. The World Fund and the strategic partner provide 100 percent of the funding, while Rotarians implement the grant project like:  Partnering with an international organization to distribute bio-sand water filters for villages that need clean water  Partnering with an internationally recognized university to provide graduate students with the opportunity to study infectious disease and maternal health  Partnering with international organizations and respected universities to provide vocational training to health workers in poor countries
