SOFTWARE LICENCING
(REVIEW OF IT BASICS)
SOFTWARE LICENCING
 Basic types of software licences
     “Free” software
          Freeware
          Shareware
          AdWare
          Free Software
     Commercial software
 Types of “free” software:
 Freeware - is available for use at no cost or for an
optional fee. The author still has his copyright so you
are not allowed to change the source code.
        Examples: Adobe Reader, Skype
SOFTWARE LICENCING
 Shareware - these programs can be copied and
spread, are usually somehow restricted - either by
time of use or functionality. The restrictions are lifted
     after paying the registration fee.
     Examples: AVG Antivirus, AnyVideo Converter
 Adware - free use of the software, but an
advertisement is displayed, profit from it goes to the
software developers, it is impossible to remove ads
(it is not in compliance with the licensing to try that),
advertising is usually downloaded from the Internet
     Examples: Weatherbug
SOFTWARE LICENCING
 Free Software (GNU General Public License) -
is software which has its source code available,
along with the right to use this software, modify
and sell or give away copies or amended
      version.
 Where to get it?

                majorgeeks.com
