ways to master “answer getting techniques”. AKA

Dan Meyer also recognizes this problem. In fact,
he stated that a student can pass a math course
with just knowing how to decode a textbook.
Nope! There is no learning nor understanding
math here either.

It is difficult when even the textbooks are not
on your side.
A math classroom these days consists of
memorizing and learning methods on answer
getting that in turn, hide the math.
Math is being avoided, and that is why
students today do NOT see nor understand
math.

First step for a change is to recognize that
today’s students are truly NOT understanding
math. They are just passing by it.
Second step is to implement ways in our
class to actively engage students in math.
One great way to do that is by making math
resemble real life. After all, math principles
are incorporated in their everyday life in
some way.
