INTRODUCTION ABOUT BODY LANGUAGE AND
DANCING
· Body language is a form of mental and physical
ability of human non-verbal communication,
consisting of body posture, gestures, facial
expressions, and eye movements. Humans send
and interpret such signals almost entirely
subconsciously.
· Dance is a type of art that generally involves
movements of the body (flexibility, aerobic
stamina...). It is performed in many cultures as a
form of emotional expression. Choreography is the
art of creating dances.

FLAMENCO
- Definition: Flamenco is a genre of Spanish music song, and dance
from Andalusia that includes singing, guitar playing, dance
and handclap.
Flamenco’s dance is known by: His emotional intensity, his proud
carriage and his eloquence.
- Styles of Flamenco:
· Alegrías
· Bulerías
· Fandangos
· Rumbas
· Sevillanas
· Tango

RUMBA
-It was born in the 19th century.
-It has a festive character.
-It’s characterized by a sensual dance.
-Now it’s considered one of the most important styles in
flamenco.

BALLROOM DANCES
- Ballroom dance is a set of partner dances.
- Socially and competitivity.
- Enjoyed on stage, film, and television.
- The styles were developed in England.
- Now, they are regulated by the World Dance
Council.

TANGO
- It was originated 1890s along the Río de la Plata,
the natural border between Argentina and
Uruguay.
- The music derived from the fusion of various forms
of music from Europe and the dance, in lower
districts in Buenos Aires or Montevideo.
- Tango consists of a variety of styles that developed
in different regions and areas of Argentina as
well as in other locations around the world.

BELLY DANCING (DANCES OF THE WORLD)
- Improvised dances based on
torso articulation originating
from the Middle East.
- It's characterized by the
clothes that women use to
dance it.
- Belly dance takes many
different forms depending on
the country and region.

- Some Greek and Roman sources describe
dancers from Asia Minor and Spain using
undulating movements.
-Some experts think that belly dancing takes its
roots from Anciente Greece and Rome.
- In 19th
, European travellers in the Middle East
wrote extensive accounts of the dancers they
saw there.
- Women in this countries danced it to seduce
men.

THE TRIBAL DANCES IN AFRICA (DANCES OF THE
WORLD)
- These dances for Africans is a way to show their concerns,
wishes, culture, feelings, society...
- It is a dance inspired by its natural surroundings performing
gestures and movements.
- They pass from generation to generation.
- It is an aerobic exercise with arms and legs movements.
- Most of the sounds are made with drums and bongos.

- The African dances have its origins in rituals of participation
in the cosmogony (nature, change of seasons...)
- They also treat personal matters like birth, initiation to
adulthood, old age and death.

- Theatre is a collaborative form of
fine art that uses live performers
to show a situation in a specific
place.
- The performers communicate this
thanks to dance, songs, gesture,
speech...
-It's based on body language.
