Mclean

myriad
of
advertising
and
publishing
companies
in
Australia
and
internationally.
Mcleans
work
has
illustrated
successful
childrens
book
ranges
and
is
known
for
massively
detailed
full
colour
cartoon
poster
works.
His
Charcoal
works
on
paper
and
paintings
on
canvas
first
attained
recognition
through
sell-‐out
shows
in
2002
and
2003
and
continue
to
receive
critical
acclaim
for
originality
in
style
and
theme.
The
works
have
been
described
as
anything
from
brilliantly
dark
and
moody
to
hilariously
disturbing.

Gentle
is
renowned
for
his
sculptural
pieces.
His
trademark
humour
and
wit
was
an
integral
part
of
his
work
which
could
be
described
perhaps
as
more
about
drawing
than
sculpture.
The
elements
of
his
works
have
been
described
as
“a
type
of
personal
hieroglyphics—animated
and
fused
from
a
dictionary
of
linear
memories
that
stretch
time.”
Ian
Gentle’s

Sydney
Ball's
work
