How to Install a Camera on a Car?
2011-06-13 09:53:28 By qualir
As you know, the car DVD GPS player could be connected with a camera to build up a parking system. In theory,
all of the DVD players could support the rear camera input. The question is how? Here are the steps:
First you need to decide where you want to install the camera. Many people put them in the plastic bumper.
And it doesn’t need them to drill into the car’s sheet metal. There are some kind of special cameras need to drill
a hole of the bumper, since they are designed for the special cars. It fits to the back light exactly. Such as
Mitsubishi lancer camera and BMW camera. These special cameras need you to confirm where you will install
them, because these cameras could be hidden as original after installation.
Second, you need to drill a hole for the camera. Check the installation instructions first to see the size.
Remember that do not make the hole too large otherwise the camera will fall out.
You could place the cameras in the hole for using the rubber grommet supplied with the camera. You need to
make sure the camera and grommet are tight.
Connect the camera’s power wire to the backup light power wire on your car. You need to connect the wires
together. You could use wire cutters to cut the wires, leaving enough excess wire to reconnect. You need to strip
the ends of the wire to expose the bare wire using wire strippers. Splice the wires together using a two-into-one
connector. It could supply the rear-view camera power when you put the car in reverse.
