LECTURE BUNKING
SUBMITTED BY-

When we don’t feel
like attending the
lectures, we bunk
lectures……
REASONS FOR BUNKING OF
LECTURES
 PEER PRESSURE
 BELIEVE IN SELF STUDY
 FOR LOVE
 DISLIKETOWARDS A SUBJECT
 NOT LIKINGATEACHER
 MORE INTERESTED IN EXTRA CURRICULAR
ACTIVITES
 I CAN GET ALLTHE LECTURE SLIDES AND NOTES
 KNOWING EVERTHING ALREADY
 TIME IS PRECIOUS
 LECTURES ARE BORING
PEER PRESSURE
 Peer pressure is one thing that can
make you do anything for the most
silly reasons. When you are under the
influence of peer pressure, you tend
to do only what the other is doing.
I can do anything for my friends………….
CONSIDERING SELF STUDY ONLY
 We are mature enough to learn all by
ourselves. In addition, the advent of
the internet has made it easier for us
to learn from. There is abundant
amount of information available out
there that can be learnt by only self-
study and not by lecturer's age old
methods.
FOR LOVE
For the sake of love, there are many students
who bunk classes to spend time with their
partner. College is a time where you get to
meet those sassy girls and those dudes you
instantly fall in love with. Therefore, this is
one of the most common reasons as to why
many students bunk classes in college.
Dislike Towards A Subject
Most students generally prefer
bunking classes because they
want to stay away from subjects
they dislike.
HATE A TEACHER
 Hatred towards a teacher can get one
into serious trouble! There are tons of
students who do not like to attend
classes as they hate the teacher and want
to stay away from the sight of them,
which is why bunking that teacher's class
will seem like an easy option for them.
MORE INTERESTED IN HOBBIES
Nothing can stop a student from
pursuing his/her hobbies.This is
especially true in a college kid's world,
where he/she can give up his classes
just for the love of his hobbies.
GETTING LECTURE SLIDES AND
NOTES EASILY
why not adopt the latest revolution that
is Lecture slides ?There are some class
room notes that need to be
photocopied, for everything else there
are lecture slides.
I ALREADY KNOW
 Some students think that they are very
intelligent as they already know lot of stuff
that was learnt during our pursuit of topics
of personal interest.
TIME IS PRECIOUS
 College life is very short. We need to find
time to do innumerable activities like
watching movies, playing online games,
offline sports, hanging out with friends,
planning parties, outdoor trips, pursuing
passions etc.
LECTURES ARE BORING
 But most of the professors are old and
they are too slow. The entire lecture
explained by them in a 1 hour class
can be grasped by glancing over the
lecture slides for 15 minutes.
PARETO
DIAGRAM
WHAT IS PARETO DIAGRAM?
 A Pareto diagram is a simple bar chart that
ranks related measures in decreasing order of
occurrence.
The purpose of a Pareto diagram is to
separate the significant aspects of a problem
from the trivial ones.
 The principle is based on the unequal
distribution of things in the universe.
DATA OBTAINED AFTER SURVEY
Analysis of factors
responsible for
lecture bunking
using pareto
diagram……
3 MAJOR PROBLEMS
1) BORING LECTURES- Lectures are not
interacive. Practical knowledge are not
given by teachers.
2) PEER PRESSURE-For some students,
”Words of friends are more important than
the words of teachers”.
3) BELEIVE IN SELF STUDY- Some students
think that they would be able to get the
things only through the self study.
LESSONS LEARNED BY THE TEAM
 We learned how to make pareto
diagram using MS-EXCEL.
 We got a lot of information about
pareto diagram and its use.
 We came to know several factors
responsible for bunking classes.
