speaking to young

As a man who has
walked the path with
Christ for the last 28

7. Luke 10 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up
to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to
inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do
you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your
strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do
this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked
Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
8. Matthew 6
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on
earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and
where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store
up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
moths and vermin do not destroy, and where
thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

12. 1 Corinthians 12
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each
one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed
in the church first of all apostles, second
prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then
gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of
different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles?
Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work
miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all

putting their gifts into the temple
treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put
in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I
tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has
put in more than all the others. 4 All these
people gave their gifts out of their wealth;
but she out of her poverty put in all she
had to live on.”
17. 1 Thessalonians 5
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give
thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for
you in Christ Jesus.
19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat
prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold
on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.
Luke 18
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them
that they should always pray and not give up.

19. That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no
resurrection, came to him with a question. 24
“Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies
without having children, his brother must marry the
widow and raise up offspring for him. 25 Now there
were seven brothers among us. The first one married
and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife
to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the
second and third brother, right on down to the
seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at
the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven,
since all of them were married to her?”
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do
not know the Scriptures or the power of God.”

22. Luke 9
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants
to be my disciple must deny themselves and
take up their cross daily and follow me. 24
For whoever wants to save their life will lose
it, but whoever loses their life for me will
save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain
the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their
very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and
my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of
them when he comes in his glory and in the
glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
