4. A description of key
characters
Mother - Very well presented, work orientated, strict, loving
towards her children. Her being work orientated causes the
children to feel neglected and is what results with the fathers
death. (child aims to get her attention). The mother then becomes
depressed after the death and causes the child to commit more
crimes in order to gain her attention.
Children - one child (good) is very quiet and is delineated to be
very scared for an unknown reason. She is very aware of the
situation and isolates herself.
the other child is very abstract, and artistic due to the paintings and
drawings in her room. she is craving for her parents attention and this
causes her psychological state.
Nurse – Second mother figure to the children. Has a very close
relationship the good twin.
5. Plot
The mother and father are very work orientated and rarely see the children;
they leave them with the nurse. This causes one child to feel neglected by the
parents and her craving her mothers attention causes her to murder the father
(She is being possessed by her doll and is being 'told' what to do).
The girl is very oblivious upon the instructions she is being given and how it is
effecting the family. The want for her mothers attention causes the little girl to
become mentally insane.
When the mother becomes depressed after the death she remains paying little
attention to the children. The little girl is then 'told' to kill the nurse.
The mother calls the police after finding blood in the bathroom and the nurse
being missing. She then has to begin to look after the children and realises
something wrong with one of them. She goes into the possessed childs room
to see drawings of the events that have occured; telling the story. The next
picture shows the death of the other little girl (her twin) which is yet to happen.
The mother realises that it was the little girl that is responsible for the deaths
as the girl comes in and see's her mother in her room.
The child explains to the mother how the doll is telling her to do things. Due to
the time period, the family are very religious so the mother then takes her
daughters to the church where her excorsism occurs.
The film ends with death of the little girl.

7. Influences on our opening
sequence
The main opening sequences in which have
been a large influence on ours is The others and
The conjuring. We based our sequence on how
these were presented as they communicated the
innocents of the children and a sense of mystery.
