ECONOMY ANALYSIS
 The S&P BSE Sensex fell sharply in line with other global peers and
closed over 270 points lower as the US dollar appreciated against other
currencies. The rise in global crude oil prices always weighed on
sentiment as it impact India's current account deficit (CAD).
 The 30-share index ended at 19,177.76, down 286.06 points or 1.47 per
cent. It touched a high of 19,347.11 and a low of 19,147.31 in trade today.
 The Nifty closed at 5,770.9, down 86.65 points or 1.48 per cent. It touched
a high of 5,815 and a low of 5,760.40 in trade today.
 Tata PowerBSE -4.90 % (4.90 per cent), SBI (4.58 per cent), Sterlite
Industries (4.58 per cent) Tata SteelBSE -4.54 % (4.54 per cent) and
Hindalco (3.1 per cent) were among top Sensex losers.
 Sun Pharmaceuticals (1.25 per cent), Jindal Steel (0.98 per cent) and ITC
(0.42 per cent) were among the only index gainers.
 The market breadth was negative on the BSE with 792 gainers against
1,525 losers.
