2. Albuquerque, NM
With a population of 552,804, Albuquerque is the
largest city in the state of New Mexico. The real estate
market is in recovery with increased home sales for
almost two years. Home prices, however, have yet to
recover significantly. The median sales price in May
was up, increasing 4% from to $175,000 from
$168,000 in May 2012.
3. 708 homes sold in May 2013, up from 630 in May 2012.
That’s a 12% increase in home sales.
4. 78 foreclosures sold in 2013, down from 101 in 2012.
That’s a 23% decrease in foreclosure sales.
5. 57 short sales closed in 2013, down from 71 in 2012.
That’s a 20% decrease in short sales.
6. 571 fair market sales closed in May 2013, up from 458 in May 2012.
That’s a 25% increase.
7. Rio Rancho
The city of Rio Rancho is located NW of Albuquerque. With
a population of 87,521, Rio Rancho is the third largest city in
New Mexico. Residents of Rio Rancho enjoy the good
schools and low crime rate in the area. Intel is located in the
southeastern part of town and is the largest employer. The
median sales price was $150,000, down 8% in May 2013
from $163,000 in May 2012.

That’s an increase of 33%.

That’s a 59% decrease.
11. East Mountains
The east mountain area is made up of Cedar
Crest, Edgewood, Sandia Park and Tijeras. In
general, the properties are located on larger
lots, many of which have beautiful views of
the east side of the Sandia Mountains.

Located south of Albuquerque, the
Village of Los Lunas is a short, 25
minute commute to Albuquerque and
Kirtland AFB.

15. Corrales
Just north of the city of Albuquerque, along
the banks of the Rio Grande, the Village of
Corrales offers its residents beautiful custom
homes on large, rural lots.

That’s a 50% increase.

Located north of Albuquerque, Placitas
NM has some of the most beautiful
