3 Web 2.0 Tools Kidopo - “Making kids happier” is an online website for children. It offers an innovative coloring application for coloring pages, which simulates a real coloring experience. This e-learning website also has sites where kids can play games, learn a craft, watch a video and offers printables. Themes/games range from girls dress-up, boys arcade, and birthday party ideas to coloring pages of your favorite pop star. ,[object Object]

A.I. type - is an online website that can make a persons writing experience easier, faster and better by completing your words and sentences while they are typing in any Windows application on your PC (MS word, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Skype etc. The website provides a unique solution for individuals to quickly compose complex text, in many languages, by suggesting words which are complementary to the initial sentence composition. The suggestion of words is context driven, thus allowing the user to choose the “direction” (contents) of the text, and to switch “direction” if needed. The product consists of a “Knowledge Based” system which acquires its knowledge automatically, eliminating the need to manually “teach” the system anything, thus eliminating the need for human interference and interaction during the learning phase. Comparison of these Web 2.0 Tools ,[object Object],My comparison chart shows the 3 web 2.0 tools and how they compare to each other. Each one is different and geared to a different age group/ school level. They all can serve as an educational tool for the young/ growing student. The “digital age” student will find them to be easy websites to navigate around thus by causing less confusion. Whether the student is learning how to use color , wants to improve their handwriting or learning to articulate their words on paper/screen in a better manner, all three of these sites can be helpful. Using these tools in today’s classroom As a teacher, I feel like each of these tools could be utilized in today’s classroom. Starting with Kidopo, a site geared to 1st- 3rd grade students. This website could be utilized as a “free time” activity. The site is kid friendly and skill appropriate for that age group. Plus it is fun and could be a great reward for that student (unstead of candy)who has completed their work and deserves something entertaining to do. Twisty Noodle provides an essential tool for today’s young child and that is learning to write. I would recommend this site to any Pre-k- 2nd grade teacher. The basic skill of writing is the beginning for any child and this site offers printables that can be done anytime, in school or at home. It offers something for kids to do, to keep them busy and intellectually stimulated at the same time. The ideas from this site could easily be incorporated into a teacher’s daily lesson plan. Plus the website could be used as a “free time” activity for rewarding students. Another website that I liked for today’s computer educated child is A.I. type. I like the site for students from 4th grade to high school. Why such a large grade span? Because writing is not easy for a lot of students and this site is certain to assist with that. A.I type can make the writing process a little easier for those students who have a time organizing their thoughts and finding the right word to express themselves. A.I. Type is a tool that can also appeal to foreigners who have a basic understanding of english and want to sound as natural as possible when writing. With the growing number of racial/ethnic diversity that exist in today’s American schools, this feature could be a necessary tool for those students that are not proficient and don’t feel comfortable with their english.
