Lesson Plan (Class 13: 28/10/15)
Clothes
Name: Simon Repetto, Sofía - Rizzo, Ana Antonella
Class: 5th Year
Level: Elementary
Length: 40 minutes.
Class Description: The class is formed by 21 students: 10 boys and 11 girls, all about
10 years old. They have classes twice a week, 40 minutes.
Main Aims: By the end of this class students will be able to name and describe pieces of
clothing.
Subsidiary aims: 1. To identify the different pieces of clothes
2. To describe clothes
Personal Aims: That our methodology to teach the topic, help the students to learn and
to understand it, as well as enjoy.
Timetable fit: In the last class students have learned the different pieces of clothing, as
well as the difference between sex and gender and how colours in clothes is just a
cultural aspect. They also have worked with the story and learned about different
cultures.
Materials: Whiteboard and markers
Photocopies
Anticipated problems: Some students can be uninterested in making the project or may
find it difficult.
Possible solutions: We will provide them the necessary help in order to encourage them
to do it.
Procedures

Introducing the project.
We are going to start the class
introducing the project. We are
going to present them with a
model as an example of what
they have to do.
Children are going to work in
groups of four.

Starting with the project
Once we have divided them in
groups of four, we will give
each student an image of a boy
or a girl and we are going to
assign to each group a season.
They have to dress the image
according to the weather station
they were assigned.
Ss – Ss
25 min.
Describing the image
Each student will write
sentences to describe what the
boy or girl is wearing. They
will have to make simple
sentences explaining the name
and color of the clothes. The
expected outcome of this
activity is that students can
produce simple sentences using
the –ing form to indicate the
use of clothes. To achieve this,
they will follow a model we are
going to provide them with. We
will stick on the board our
model and next to it we will
write the sentences that
describe our image: “she is
wearing a green t-shirt”, “she
is wearing blue jeans”, etc.

Elementary Clothes Lesson Plan

  • 1. Lesson Plan (Class 13: 28/10/15) Clothes Name: Simon Repetto, Sofía - Rizzo, Ana Antonella Class: 5th Year Level: Elementary Length: 40 minutes. Class Description: The class is formed by 21 students: 10 boys and 11 girls, all about 10 years old. They have classes twice a week, 40 minutes. Main Aims: By the end of this class students will be able to name and describe pieces of clothing. Subsidiary aims: 1. To identify the different pieces of clothes 2. To describe clothes Personal Aims: That our methodology to teach the topic, help the students to learn and to understand it, as well as enjoy. Timetable fit: In the last class students have learned the different pieces of clothing, as well as the difference between sex and gender and how colours in clothes is just a cultural aspect. They also have worked with the story and learned about different cultures. Materials: Whiteboard and markers Photocopies Anticipated problems: Some students can be uninterested in making the project or may find it difficult. Possible solutions: We will provide them the necessary help in order to encourage them to do it.
  • 2. Procedures Stage/stage aim Description Interaction Timing Introducing the project. We are going to start the class introducing the project. We are going to present them with a model as an example of what they have to do. Children are going to work in groups of four. T –Ss 5 minutes Starting with the project Once we have divided them in groups of four, we will give each student an image of a boy or a girl and we are going to assign to each group a season. They have to dress the image according to the weather station they were assigned. Ss – Ss 25 min. Describing the image Each student will write sentences to describe what the boy or girl is wearing. They will have to make simple sentences explaining the name and color of the clothes. The expected outcome of this activity is that students can produce simple sentences using the –ing form to indicate the use of clothes. To achieve this, they will follow a model we are going to provide them with. We will stick on the board our model and next to it we will write the sentences that describe our image: “she is wearing a green t-shirt”, “she is wearing blue jeans”, etc. Individual work. 10 min Model:
