TRAFFIC RULES

Rules for driving
 ARTICLE 78. - When using public roads, drivers, passengers
and pedestrians vehicles must:
 a) accept immediately the verbal or written transit authorities
and directed them to stop when the stop signal, which can be
done by hand or by means of sound or light signals.
 b) Comply with the instructions of any official device traffic
control, which has been installed and operating in
accordance with the respective laws and regulations.
 c) To observe and comply with the signals and vertical
demarcations on public roads.
 ARTICLE 79. - The public road users should
behave so as not to obstruct traffic or
endanger the safety of vehicles or other
people.
 ARTICLE 81. - All vehicles of the State, its
institutions, diplomatic missions, diplomats,
consular officers, pensioners and international
missions and their drivers are subject to the
provisions of this Act and the Regulations,
without prejudice to the conventions or
international agreements.
Motorists
 ARTICLE 82. - Speed ​​limits for the movement
of vehicles shall be fixed by the General
Directorate of Traffic Engineering, according to
the type and conditions of the track, previous
technical study. Those limits, both the
minimum and the maximum run from the
placement of labels or markings that indicate
those speeds, which must be installed
conveniently on highways.
 As to the speed, the following provisions
apply:
 a) It is forbidden to drive at a speed higher or
lower than the limits established by the
General Directorate of Traffic Engineering.
 b) The speed limit on roads where there is no
specific regulation, is sixty miles per hour.
 c) In urban areas, the speed limit is forty miles
per hour.
 ARTICLE 85. - The driver of a vehicle traveling
on public roads must maintain reasonable and
prudent distance, to ensure the timely
detention in case the vehicle in front suddenly
slow. To do this, the driver must consider
speed, road conditions, weather and your own
vehicle.
 ARTICLE 86. - Any change in the speed or
direction in the situation of a vehicle in motion
or parked, it should be noted well in advance
and in accordance with regulations, but the
signal does not grant the right to execute the
maneuver if the removal endangers the safety
of other vehicles or pedestrians.
