Prepare your business presentation (part 6)
1. Prepare Your Business Presentation (part 6)
Once you have decided on your objectives, you need to plan for a well organized
presentation to increase the chance of achieving your objective.
A well planned presentation should have a persuasive opening, with a relevant story,
questions, comment or statement to grab your audience’s interest and attention.
Examples of compelling opening:
How many of you moved into new office because the previous one was full documents?
Probably a third of the audience.
How many of you are struggling to store the ever increasing amount of documents
and upset by the cost to store it in rented selfstorage space? Pretty much every one.
How many of you know that you can increase your existing office space by up 80% by
exploiting vertical airspace?
Part one of your preparation should also aim to:
Delineate the objective of your presentation
Prove your credibility, if need be have another person with a higher credibility introduce
your presentation.
Define what’s in it for your audience, why they should listen to you?
Preview the main point to be covered.
Part two of your preparation should also aim to:
Explain to your audience why they should pay attention to your message
Develop a need or argument to solve together with your audience and test it by asking
suggestions and for their feedbacks
Include relevant examples, testimonials and material in support of your message.
Part three of your preparation should also aim to:
Involve the audience using their terms.
Help the audience in understanding the benefits of what you are proposing.
Present the needs and solutions from your audience’s perspective.
Closing your presentation
Underline the key points of your message.
Suggest agreement.
