Brown Television (BTV) provides various video production services and programming options. Paid services include event videography for a 20% fee if BTV equipment is used and video advertising production with pricing determined on a case by case basis. BTV also sells blank tapes for $4 each. Free services for Brown students include creating their own series, hosting live studio shows, and documentary/narrative productions. Any student or university produced content can be programmed for free, while external groups pay fees. BTV helps advertise events through short video ads online or through their IPTV system.
2. Production SERVICES I. SERVICES WITH A FEE Event Videography--- available to student organizations, university faculty and administration, and local/national businesses. Determined on a case-by-case basis. If BTV equipment is used, BTV collects 20% of videography charge. Service charge includes technical evaluation, shooting with HD capabilities, editing, color correction, titling and crediting, dvd burning and duplication, cd labeling and casing/packaging. (2) Video Advertising Production: available to student organizations, university faculty and administration, and local/national businesses. Rates on a case-by-case basis. Can make a general advertisement or an advertisement to run for a certain period of time. Several factors contribute to pricing. Low rates involve BTV designed series of slides for 30 second runtime. Middle rates involve BTV produced video ads of a simple nature. Higher rates involve BTV produced creative concept commercial up to one minute in length for web distribution. TAPES BTV also buys MiniDV in tapes in bulk and sells them for $4 cash per tape, as opposed to $14 for two at CVS. No one is exempt from paying for a tape. Anyone may buy a tape. 2
