He started in the band Th’ Dudes in 1975 to 1980.
He was in DD Smash 1980 to 1986.
He has had a solo career since 1986 to present.
Dave Dobbyn is famous mainly in New Zealand, but also in
Australia.

Dave Dobbyn was born on 3 January, 1957.
He went to ‘Sacred Heart College’ in Glen Innes,
Auckland.
Tim Finns and Neal went to the same college as Dave
Dobbyn!
His music interests were rock and pop.

‘Available Light’ (2005) is an album that was received
well by the music industry.
Footrot Flat is a soundtrack that made ‘Slice of
Heaven’ song Number 1 on the N.Z music charts.
10. WHERE IS HE TODAY?
Dave Dobbyn is still at work producing music and
tours today!
He happily lives with his wife Anneliesje.
and two kids Grace and Eli.

All we knew about Dave Dobbyn at the beginning of
our research, were a couple of his songs. But now we
know much more about him and we admire how hard
he works and that he is still going today!
Dave Dobbyn is an extraordinary person and
musician. We like it that he has stayed in New Zealand
