observations eventually helped Copernicus in designing his heliocentric model of the
solar system.
■ X was known to have a very short temper. He got into a duel with a fellow
mathematician over who was the greatest mathematician of all time. X got his nose
chopped off and was forced to wear a silver nose for the rest of his life.
■ The most bizarre fact/myth about X was the way he died. Although widely refuted by
historians, legend has it that X died after his bladder burst due to some mysterious
disease that didn't allow him to urinate properly for 11 days.
Tycho Brahe
10.What is the disgusting myth?
YekaterinaAlexeyevna or Catherine II, often referred to as Catherine the Great was the
longest ruling female leader in Russia, reigning from 1762 until her death in 1796.
Russia was revitalized under her reign, growing larger and stronger than ever and
becoming recognized as one of the great powers of Europe.
Despite such a glorious reign, the world knows her better for her nymphomaniac
tendencies. Catherine was known to have an extraordinary sexual appetite and history
tells us that she had at least 22 male lovers in her life.
Her sex drive gave rise to a very famous myth regarding her death.
Died while trying to have sex with a
horse.
11. ID X andY.
While filming the historically significantX,Y faced a very peculiar problem.Y was forced to
shoot X with an all-male cast as apparently there were no woman available for playing the
female leads!
As the concept of filming was unheard of then,Y struggled to convince women to join the
cast. He even failed to get nautch girls to act in his films.
Eventually,Y was forced to look for delicate-looking men to play the female parts. In his

wife in X.

12. ID X,Y, Z,W.
X was the last installment penned byY in the Z series. However, fans of the series were
disappointed by X.Y himself admitted that:
People have said, quite rightly, that X is a very bleak book. I would love to finish Z on a
slightly more upbeat note, so five seems to be a wrong kind of number; six is a better kind of
number.
X however passed away before he could write another book.
X's widow, Jane Belson, however extended her support and gave full permission toW to
write a sixth book in the series. The book, titledV was released in 2009, 17 years after X's
release.

15.Who?

Facebook made Mark Zuckerberg "the biggest thing on a campus that included nineteen
Nobel Laureates, fifteen Pulitzer Prize winners, two future Olympians, and a movie star."
One of the lawyers then asks, "Who was the movie star?" and the response is, "Does it
matter?"
The movie star was actually X who was enrolled in Harvard from 1999-2003. Before
entering Harvard, X wrote a paper in High School titled "A Simple Method to
Demonstrate the Enzymatic Production of Hydrogen from Sugar" which was
entered into the Intel Science Talent Search. X graduated with a degree in psychology

16. Fill in the blanks.
■ The story goes, once there arose a feud between Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma
over who is more important. To settle this, they approached the third God of the
Holy Trinity, Lord Shiva to adjudicate. Lord Shiva accepted and set them a
challenge. Whoever manages to view the top of Lord Shiva's head first would be
declared the winner. Saying so he assumes a huge form (a viswaroopa) that
stretches across the various lokas (universes).
■ As both Vishnu and Brahma set about their task, they quickly realized it was a
hopeless affair. Lord Shiva's stature was just too big. Then Brahma notices a
ketaki flower floating by, who when questioned answers that she fell from Lord
Shiva's head many thousand years ago. Lord Brahma convinces the flower to lie
on his behalf, that he had seen the top Shiva's head.
■ When Lord Brahma calls upon Shiva to claim victory, Shiva in his anger at
hearing an outright lie from Brahma curses him
