Online RSA New Course
RSA NSW Online!

RSA training is governed by NSW State liquor laws and completion of an RSA course is
mandatory for licensees, serving and security staff. So if you intend on entering the industry or if
you are currently in the industry you’ll be thankfully to note that the course is now available
online, quickly and conveniently. Responsible Service of Alcohol Course online new is your
ticket to an exciting new career.

As an alcohol server you will be asked advice from customers, here we help you by providing
information on the drinks that add not only to your buzz but your waistline as well.

Drinks That Dieters Should Avoid

While we all want to enjoy our favourite cocktail at happy hour, some drinks are more fattening
than others. Especially for those watching their weight we have included the top 5 alcohols that
will make you fat if you over indulge in them. Like all things in life, alcohol should be enjoyed in
moderation, but when trying to beat the bulge, there are few drinks to steer clear of:

1. Beer. We have all heard the consequence of a beer belly for those who can’t get enough of
the drink. Some people claim that having beer in summer flushes out toxins from the body but
in reality beer dehydrates the body. A regular beer contains up to 150-170 calories and 7 grams
of carbohydrates which is definitely not a good idea for weight watchers. Beer, due to its high
calorie content, causes men to develop those beer bellies, because men tend to collect fat
around their mid sections. For women, excessive beer drinking will likely result in fat collecting
around the butt and thighs.

 2. Champagne. This is the drink we all reach for to celebrate any occasion although after beer,
this alcohol hits the list of fattening alcohol drinks. While champagne is often associated with an
elite lifestyle it should be reserved for special occasions if one is watching their weight. In a
single serving champagne can contain 90 calories. Although champagne contains virtually no
macronutrients, vitamins or minerals, it still has the calories. Although champagne contains
virtually no macronutrients, vitamins or minerals, it still has the calories.

3. Wine. It is true that wine does have health benefits, when enjoyed in moderation. Too much
wine can cause you to gain weight. It has 80 calories per serving which adds up to quite a bit if
you are a regular drinker. Dry wine contains fewer calories than sweeter wine. For example, a
glass of dry wine has about 106 calories and a glass of sweet dessert wine has a whopping 226
calories. If you drink a glass of wine before dinner, another glass with dinner and a sweet wine
for dessert, you’ve added more than 400 calories to your meal.

4. Vodka. Vodka like other alcohol contains empty calories, meaning that it has no nutritional
content but has the calories. It contains about 55-60 calories per shot. Although the calorie
content of vodka is same as bourbon whiskey, we tend to consume more of it when it is served

                                                                                               1/3
as ‘shots’ and for this reason it can cause weight gain very easily.

 5. Creamy Cocktails: Cocktails that have cream floating in it are fattening. Avoid cocktails that
are not ‘clear’ or contains toppings. Obviously the larger the drink the higher the calorie
content. Even though these cocktails could taste light and fruity and deceive you into thinking
they are lower in calories, they aren’t. Those that add syrups are full of sugar have added
calories, just like those that add creams. For example a Pina Colada is said to be more fattening
than a Big Mac.

These drinks contain about the same calories as sugary soft drinks which dieters wouldn’t dare
consume, so why the consumption of alcohol? Perhaps the fact the cocktails are so quickly
consumed and do not seem to “fill” the stomach drinkers assume they aren’t adding calories.
They taste light and don’t give you that heavy feeling you get when you eat, so people are
fooled into thinking they aren’t as fattening as some foods. Dieters can make more informed
and healthy choices when choosing what drink to try that won’t break their diets.

Those cocktails to avoid that have the highest calories are:

Long Island Iced Tea, can hold up to a whopping 780 calories per glass.

Margaritas are particularly deceptive because they taste fruity, zesty and light, you would never
guess they calorie packed.

Piña Colada, this fruity and frothy drink, although delicious can contain up to 644 calories in on
drink.

Mai Tai, so flavourful but also packed with calories, savour it rather than down them.

Mudslide, the fact that this drink contains ice cream says it all. It also contains Irish cream,
coffee liquer and chocolate syrup, need we say more? Although it can’t be beaten for taste, it’s
definitely not one for the weight watchers.

www.rsaonlinensw.com has emerged as the most cost effective RTO at the moment, charging
