Training/Workshops The DD Form 93 is the official and legal document
used by Soldiers designating the person who should be
notified in case of an emergency, sickness or death.

Month of the Military Family – November 2011
Do you know an outstanding Military Family that you would like to honor? Then be sure to
submit your nomination to the ACS office in Bldg. 5700, Rm 390 no later than Friday,
October 14th. Your nomination must describe specific contributions the Military Family has
made to improve the quality of life for the Soldiers and Families in your unit/organization
and the Fort Rucker Community. For specific criteria and requirements for nomination
applications, please contact ACS at (334) 255-3817 or tom.c.jenkins@us.army.mil.
The “My Military Family” Art Contest is open to all military students between the ages of
4-11. Submit your color drawing depicting your family, on 8.5 x 11” paper in vertical
(portrait) format. Please do not identify familymembers by name on the drawing. Please be
sure to include student’s name, grade, name of parent(s), phone number and email address
on the back of the drawing. The deadline for submission is 20 October to their Fort
Rucker Primary & Elementary School Counselors. The deadline for off post students is
21 October to ACS (Bldg. 5700, Rm 390).
The “What Being in a Military Family Means to Me” Essay Contest is open to all military students
between the ages of 7-12. The essay should contain no less than 100 words and no more than 200
words and may be hand written or typed. Please be sure to include: student’s name, grade, name of
parent (s), phone number and email address on the back of the essay. The deadline for submission for
on post students is October 20th to their Fort Rucker Primary & Elementary School Counselors. The
deadline for off post students is October 21st to ACS (Bldg. 5700, Rm 390).
All winners will be announced at the “Salute to Military Families” event on 5
November from 1000 – 1300 at the Fort Rucker Festival Fields.
