priorities that would enable agricultural
development in Africa with clear role for
RUFORUM and African universities

Sub theme: Impact of HE on agricultural development
Purpose:
Synthesizing the key institutional, technology and
procedural requirements for assessing the impact of
training, research and advisory services in agricultural
development.

6. Key Messages
• More food will be required for consumption by the
increased urban population
• One of the roles of universities and research
institutions in responding to climate change is
generating local knowledge
• The future growth path of African Agriculture will
depend on a number of strategies including the
stimulation of market linkages to commercialize
African agriculture
7. Key messages from the Magnum
• Though RUFORUM has made progress, there is still
more to be done, and we request all the stakeholders to
continue supporting RUFORUM’s work
