The document provides information on various types of valves including gate valves, globe valves, check valves, and forged steel valves. It describes the key features such as construction, end connections, standards, and material of construction. Gate valves are outside screw and yoke type with bolted bonnet construction. Globe valves have a disc and stem design. Check valves prevent reverse flow using a swing type disc. Forged steel valves are compact in size from 15-50mm and have screwed or socket weld end connections. Material specifications meet standards like ASTM, ASME, and BS. Dimensions and pressure ratings are provided for different valve sizes and classes.
2. GATE VALVES
Expert make Cast Steel Flex Gate Valves are Tight Sealing, Easy Operation, Isolation valves for
liquid and gaseous fluids over a wide range of line pressures and temperatures.
-
Self adjusting flexible wedge assures tight sealing and minimizes stress
concentration under varied service conditions.
-
Stem-wedge thrust closer to wedge centre for accurate wedge movement
-
Long guide ribs in the body to minimize seat wear.
Gate valves are of rising stem, outside, screw and yoke (OS & Y) and with Bolted Bonnet
construction. The rising stem indicates open or close position of the valve. The outside screw
ensures easy lubrication and prevents corrosion and erosion by line fluids.
On request, valves can be supplied with special features like NACE Requirement, Radiography,
Magnetic Particle Test, LGC Test and for Oxygen service etc.

rang of line pressures and temperatures.

BODY AND COVER
The body is designed for strength to meet operating conditions and
contoured to minimize erosion and resistance to flow. The full port area is
maintained from the inlet port to the body seat ring to minimize turbulence.
The outlet side of the body is designed to maximize the flow even when the
disc swings partially.
Approx.
DISC
The disc is opened and sustained in open position by the velocity pressure of
the fluid and closed by the force of gravity. Seating load and resultant
tightness is aided by back pressure in the line.
BODY SEAT RING
The body seat ring is seal welded to the body avoiding leakage through the
path between the seat ring and the body. The seating surfaces are ground
and lapped.
SEATING SURFACE
Check valves can be offered with stellite seat, if specified. Stellited seat ring
provides increased resistance to ware, abrasion and erosion of the sealing
surface.

INSTALLATION
Swing Check valves are used to prevent reversal of flow in horizontal or
vertical pipelines. In vertical pipelines or for any angle from horizontal to
vertical, they can be used for upward flow only. The velocity pressure should
be sufficient to hold the Disc against stop. Pulsating flows as obtained at the
outlet of a reciprocating pump / compressor would cause disc chatter and
hence use in such application should be avoided.
7. FORGED STEEL VALVES
