Amanda started her Apprenticeship with Pathway
Group in 2013. A year later she has completed her
level 2 in Playwork.
Amanda said: “The course was really interesting!
I loved the topics and found them really useful, as
I could apply the theory that I was learning to a
practical working environment. It gave me clarity
and knowledge of working with children and I
found the whole experience really helpful.
“The assessor that I was provided with was always
really supportive, especially if I was stuck. It was
also good because there were three other people
taking the qualification at the same time as me in
my workplace, which meant that we could share
knowledge and progress together.
“I now feel more prepared working with children
as I feel the course was really relevant to my
work. I love working with them because I find it
really rewarding to think that I am making a real
difference in that child’s life. My day is varied in
regards to the kind of children that I am working
with, and their needs can range widely. I really
feel that the course has given me the skills and
confidence to be prepared day-to-day.”
