1. Audience Profile
Based on my audience research survey, I am now able to
produce a profile of a typical audience member who would
stereotypically enjoy our style of music video genre and who
we are aiming our music video at.
Taking the results from our audience research survey we are
able to create an average audience member. This member
would be:
Aged between 15-20 typically
Normally an even mix between male and female
Most respondents were students
The majority of the people who completed our survey
were in our media class or they studied media studies
therefore a large proportion of the surveys completed
were people who enjoyed the rock and indie music genres
People are more bothered about the narrative first then the
location and then the costumes worn by the actors and
actresses’. People tend to enjoy a blend of performance and
narrative. The majority of people watch music videos to be
entertained.
2. This picture shows stereotypical ‘The Kooks’ fans, which fit
our predicted criteria perfectly. They are dressed in clothes
stereotypical indie rock/alternative rock genre clothing.
These are students at college or maybe university. They are
fairly intelligent. However they are not only fans of this
genre they enjoy a variety of different genres. Their
hairstyles are a ‘not bothered’ style, which is very popular
among this genre of music’s fans. These students would
regularly attend gigs and festivals with ‘the Kooks’ and other
similar artists like the ‘Arctic Monkeys’ and the ‘Foo
Fighters’.
