Valentine´s day

2. Valentines Day is a holiday on the 14th February, celebrating love
and affection.
It´s named after Saint Valentine. According to the
legend, marriage was banned in Rome but Saint Valentine
continued to marry people in secret.
Although Valentine's 'Day is considered an important part of the
British and American year, it is not a national holiday. People still
have work, school and partake in normal activities.

flowers to the person you love. In school, children sign cards and
give them to each other. Some teachers in primary schools, show
the children how to make these cards and encourage them to
give them out.
4. Adults send each other letters, listen to love songs and go out for
romantic dinners.
There are certain things associated
with Valentine´s Day. It´s common to
give red roses, big teddy bears and
heart shaped gifts.
