2. After asking 20 people a questionnaire that I had compiled qualitative and quantitative questions, I collected my results. I did this to understand what they thought of social realism and other aspects that I wanted to research for the development of creating my film.

Results of questions about social realism: What do you understand of social realism? 13/20 people responded by giving a definition that social realism is a film that trys to portray aspects of real life. Do you know of any social realism films? This was an interesting results as 2/5 of the people questioned didn’t know any films of this genre but did have the understanding of what it was about. The people that had some idea of some social realism films they mentioned films such as ‘This is England’, ‘Nil by Mouth’, ‘Kidulthood and Adulthood’ and also ‘Half Nelson’.
5. What do you expect from a social realism film? Most people concluded that they what to see everyday situations that they might have encountered at some point in their life, and for it to be truthful but emotional in the aspect that it might bring back memories they don’t want to remember.
6. I asked the 20 people, do you think that your own personal experiences influenced your perspection on these kind of films? 8 people responded by saying yes many aspects of a film they can relate too. Another 8 people said that they don’t get affected by films maybe this is because they cant address these issues as they haven't experienced them. The last 4 people said they weren't sure if they had ever been influenced of affected by them or not.
7. An quantitative question that I asked about social realism included Here we can see more females like social realism films than males Here males are more favourable in not liking the genre than females.
9. Here we can see that out of both genders, most of people asked agreed that they feel teachers give them too much work.
10. Here we can establish that males feel more under pressure from there parents than girls, but yet most of females and males argued about feeling under pressure from there parents to do well or other aspects of home life.
11. How do you feel the pressure on students should be handled? The sample of people who answered my questionnaire responded to this question by saying that if students talked to the teachers to try and come up with a solution on getting their work in on time would be helpful. They also said that they think they should be given less work and maybe have exams spread out more that way they have more time to revise for the subject.
12. The people that answered my questionnaire are in theory a small group of the niche audience that I’m trying to attract for my film. In order to please them and the wider population I have to consider every aspect that has been addressed within the questionnaire. Also I have to ensure that my overall film is keep to the ideological view of the world in modern day society without creating stereotypes.
