4. The Dead heart
• Follows desires, ignores worship
• Not affected by reminders
The Sick heart
• Stuck between faith and desires
The Healthy heart
Cleansed from any passion that challenges what
Allah commands
It hates falling into sin
When reminded of Allah it responds
5. "[This is] a blessed Book whichWe have
revealed to you, [O Muhammad, sallallaahu
alayhi wa sallam], that they might reflect upon
its verses and that those of understanding
would be reminded." [Quran: 38: 29]
"And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits
the believers." [Quran: 51: 55]
6. When I go out and see anything, I notice the
blessing of Allah in it and take a lesson from it.

7. Al-Fudhayl may Allah have mercy upon
him said, “The Quran was revealed to be
implemented, but people made its recitation
their aim.” People asked, “How do we
implement the Quran?” He replied, “By holding
its permissible acts to be permissible and its
prohibited acts to be prohibited, abiding by its
orders and abandoning its prohibitions, and
reflecting on its wonders.”
