Ages!

2. Fashion is a growing and changing

3. Throughout decades,
centuries, even daily

4. Trends change like the seasons
in the year

5. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring

6. As the seasons fade so do our
fashion trends

7. Here’s a close look at fashion
throughout our decades

8. Starting back at the 20’s

9. The 1920’s is when we start
seeing fashion emerging in
the modern era

10. This era is when both men
and women abandoned their
restricting clothing

11. Which is where the term the
“roaring twenties” emerged

12. Women wore shorter skirts
and flapper outfits

13. Men began to wear more
athletic attire or more casual
suits

14. The 30’s began a tragic time
for fashion

15. Fashion of the 1930’s was
greatly influenced by the
Wall Street Crash leading
into the great depression

16. Fashion took a toll on most

17. Clothing was patched and
mended

18. Women were also learning how
to sew to reduce the costs of
spending on clothing

19. Most think of the 30’s as an
old Hollywood fashion

20. Hemlines were dropped to
the ankle for the women and
necklines lowered for elegant
dresses

21. For men most began to disgard
their undershirts to have the
chest shown

22. Men also started wearing
large plaids, and single
breasted jackets

23. In the 1940’s because of the
war we began to see fashion
move away from fabulous
dressing

24. The government actually asked
designers to not be wasteful and
use unnecessary amounts of
fabric on clothing

25. Because of the war and men
being away fashion trends
actually took a stand still

26. This was the time where you
saw the Iconic Rosie the
Riveter

27. Along with the slogan “We
can do it”

28. Because men were at war woman’s
clothing became much more
functional so they could work in
such clothing

29. After the war was over we
designers took a new spin on
clothing for women and men of
the 50’s

30. Woman’s clothing became much
more tight fitting and this is where
the idea of the silhouette came in
the picture

31. This style of dress was given
the name of the wiggle

32. Men in the 50’s were
leather jackets, loose fitting
shirts, cuffed pants, and a
style of bowling shoes

33. Moving onto the 60’s is where we
broke many iconic fashion trends

34. The 60’s is where we dropped
traditional fashion trends that
emerged from previous decades

35. This is where the bikini started
for the girls, and women

36. The 60’s also was popular for the
PVC dresses (box shaped dresses)
and the Go Go Boots

37. This was also the time for both
men and women to be dressing in
mismatching prints

38. Highlighter colors, and
psychedelic prints

39. This also was a leading decade
for both men and women to
start the bell bottom pants
trends

40. Bell Bottoms, tie die, mini skirts,
and the androgynous hippie look
means were headed to the trends
of the 70’s!

41. This popular iconic decade
was highly known for
platform shoes and the
“Disco Look”

42. Popular in the 70’s for
women were rayon or jersey
wrap dresses

43. Popular for men were the three
piece suits which included a
matching vest underneath

44. Flared pants were worn by
both men and women along
with plaids, and outrageous
colors

45. This hippie fashion struck
our nation emphasizing our
music cultured lives

46. 80’s fashion was known as
“the time that fashion
forgot”

47. Although many of these
crimes we call fashion are
hitting the mainstream again

48. 80’s fashions brought a
new light to the acid wash
denim jeans

49. Skinny jeans hit the fashion
world in the 80’s along with
high rise pants

50. For both women and men
bright neon colors were
about the most popular
fashion trend

51. Wearing oversized sweat
apparel with leggings and or
leg warmers for women

52. Men also based a lot of their
fashion around work out
clothing and or sweat bands

53. Graphic tees became
popular with their 80’s rock
bands

54. From the 90’s and up to our
current decade we are
starting to see these fashion
trends come back into our
everyday lives

55. Current trends all have bits
and pieces from the 20’s
through the 80’s

56. Personally I wouldn’t say
that we currently have a
specific trend but more so a
blend of our generations

57. The past makes up our
generations current fashion
to unite a new fashion!
