The greater Iowa City/Cedar Rapids region, is a place where
                            big ideas happen.

Our aim is to celebrate, support, connect, and enthusiastically cheer on
those who dream big, push boundaries, and work together to move our
region forward.
We want a more thriving region, with residents building more innovative organizations and
participating more in vibrant communities with so much pride that it creates global buzz.
To help foster more of this creative energy, we’re rolling out three major projects in 2013:

a Collaborative Calendar
An online regional calendar of events that educate, support and celebrate people making
new ideas happen and building original work. These creative and entrepreneurial events
cross all sectors and happen in all corners of the region. To reach an expanded regional
audience send in your event details, and subscribe to the weekly newsletter to stay in the
loop on all the many opportunities to connect with like-minded people.

Stories of Innovation
A year-long series of multimedia stories that shine a bright light on innovators and
creatives around the region. We all know the region is full of brilliant people building
game-changing ideas and original work in every part of our seven counties. This project
will raise awareness of them by distributing their inspiring stories to the entire region and
beyond. Point us to already-published stories (written, video, photo or otherwise) about
your area or top innovators, and we’ll distribute them far and wide. Show or connect us
with innovators whose stories need to be told. We’ll be selecting a handful of stories to tell
with a professional storytelling team throughout the year.

Creative Week 2013
A region-wide showcase and celebration of our innovative, creative, imaginative and
collaborative people and successes slated for the week of October 21, 2013. We’ll be
highlighting, promoting and coordinating workshops, talks, tours, parties and programs
throughout the week that showcase our creative region. To participate, start planning
events and showcases of any size and complexity, and/or join the Creative Collaborative to
partner with others around the region working to coordinate and produce the week-long
event.
