1. Start with PsycTESTS - http://psycnet.apa.org/
Make sure
only PsycTESTS
is selected.

2. Searching on patient’s self-efficacy
and diabetes management. Not sure if
“self-efficacy” is the right term, so first
searching just on this.

3. 218 have self efficacy as an index term, so we
know this is a term that we can use reliably.

4. Now we can restrict the search to
those that also contain diabetes.

5. The first one looks relevant
and has the fulltext of the test
in PDF. Click on the title to get
more information.

6. The summary gives useful information, and also
some other keywords – you might want to
explore social support, for example, instead of
self efficacy and diabetes.

7. If you want to see the
Test Development Record, in
addition to the test itself, click on
the doi link to see the full article.

8. If they ask you for money, don’t give up.
We still may have it freely available through
one of our subscription databases.

9. Try this tool called the Citation Linker
(http://ucelinks.cdlib.org:8888/citation_new/sfx_local) to search completely.
