2. Boat Regulations
• Under influence of alcohol and drugs: This is the most
common boating regulation and is implemented strictly.
Fine is imposed on non conformance of this regulation.
• Boat registration: Under this regulation all boats
excluding non powered boats less than 16 feet in length
should be registered with local Tax Collectors Office.
The registration certificate should always be on board in
case of inspection by enforcement officers. The boat
should be registered within 30 days of purchase and the
registration should be renewed annually.

• Boating Accidents: In case of onboard mishap,
disappearance or injury, the boat operator should inform
the concerned authority and cannot leave the boat
without giving possible help to the injured people.
• Careless and Reckless operation: This regulation
applies when a person operates the boat without regard
to safety of people or property. The boat must be
operated in a prudent manner.

4. • Some rules disallow kids under the age of 12 yrs from
boating unless they are accompanied by an adult.
• Other rules include not permitting to rent a boat which
does not include safety equipments, which exceeds its
load capacity or horsepower or is not in a condition to be
used.
