2. ANALYSIS OF 3 EXISTING DOUBLE PAGE
SPREADS… This is an existing double page spread This double
page spread from Q magazine contains three columns
full of text this gives detailed information, but it doesn't
look like there is too much writing, therefore people
are encouraged to read it and wont be put off.
The story also uses a block capital for the begining of
the text, this is a typical convention used in different
double page spreads, the font used looks famine and
goes with the other text and the images used.
The colours used for the backgrounds are grey , this
makes the image of the woman stand out from the
page and attract the audiences attention, by catching
the eye of the audience. Her pose also looks very
famine and powerful, the use of the red and white
fabric makes it stand out even more as this will catch
the readers eye. The image also acts as the
background for the article connecting the two pages
together. Her name in navy blue which allows it to
stand out and attract people to her name straight away
and people with interest in the artist are more likely to
want to read it.
3. This double page spread is from a
teenage girl magazine, and the colour
of the background suggests this from
the colour pink. The main image takes
up the left hand side of the page but
officially it is the whole page, this is
effective because it gives the page
character and relates to the genre of
music and there target audience which
would be teenage girls. The font of the
text is black which stands out from the
background but is swirly which then
this relates also back to the type of
market they are aiming for. The text
and the colour of the models dresses
link together, this effect makes the
page look as though its all one, and
blends in well because it stands out
from the background, but the
background is vibrant which also
stands out encouraging the reader to
look and read the page.
4. This double page spread has a main
image on the left hand side page, this
drags the attention to the article due to
the image being large. The colour
scheme is plain but blends in well with
each other. The colour of the hat is the
same colour as the sign on the right
page, this makes it obvious to the
reader that they are related to each
other. There is not much text so this
does not put readers off reading as it
makes the page look more inviting. The
colour of the text and some sub heading
are in the same colour scheme as the
models hat, this makes the page and
the image identical which makes the
image and the text look fun and
attracting, resulting the page to be more
encouraging for readers to read.
