Detroit, Michigan's largest city with 900,000 residents, was once known as the "motor city" and is located across from Windsor, Canada. Dearborn, Michigan has the 10th largest population and was the home of Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company, which developed the Model T and the assembly line for car production. The state is surrounded by four of the Great Lakes and has over 11,000 inland lakes, and features include the Mackinac Bridge connecting the two peninsulas and Mackinac Island, which does not allow cars.
