2. La Patum de Berga
The Patum is a local festival celebrated in Berga at the end of May
or the beginning of June. It is a mixture of music, dance and fire. It
originates from the pagan festival of the beginning of summer and
from the religious festival of Corpus Christi.
The Plaça Sant Pere in Berga The Plens, the most exciting part of
the Patum.
3. Groups or “Comparses”
The Patum which takes place in the Plaça Sant Pere consists of a series
of dances each with its own costumes, music and dances.These groups

7. La Barreja de la Patum
Barreja means “mixture” in Catalán. It is a
typical drink of the Patum. It is a mixture of
anis and a sweet wine called moscatel. It’s
very sweet and good to drink! All the people
of the Berguedà love the Patum.
