Task 3
3D
Multiple exposure
Multiple exposure is the imposition of two or more exposures which then create a
single image. This technique has been practiced for over several years , however
has become more popular due to graphic editors, for example, Photoshop, can now
help to create the same effect. With this technique, you can create a lot of effects,
like ghost images, or having a bright moon into the dark sky and also having a
mirror image. These photographs work really well together, as the background
photograph is in the forest which shows the colours of the leaves and the trees
behind, whereas the photograph on top is the side of a girls face, I think this works
well because you can still see the woman's face and also the forest in the
background which shows they have got the exposure just right.
High speed photography
High speed photography is taking pictures of really fast phenomena. A high speed
photograph can follow either or both meanings, the first it may be taken in a way to
freeze the motion, this would reduce motion blur and the second is a series of
photographs taken at a frame rate or high frequency. High speed photography
usually will take photographs of fast moving objects, that are normally invisible to
the human eye. High speed photographs are used not only by experimental
photographers but also the the military, they will take photographs and study the
accuracy of missiles and rockets but also to record the very core of nuclear
explosions. Scientists also tend to use this technique to study physical movement,
measuring surface tension and also gravitational effects.
High speed photography started out in the mid 1800s, in 1856 an amateur
photographer from Britain called Thomas Skaife created a high shutter speed to
capture cannonballs in flight for the first time, although the shutter gave an
exposure of 1/50, in them days is would have been quite amazing, however now it
seems slow. This photograph of the strawberry looks as though it has had a bullet
or something sharp through it, by having the black background behind it you can
see the detail of the strawberry and the parts flying off it. If you were to look at the
strawberry been shot with your eyes you would not be able to to see as much detail
that is shown in the photograph.
