1. Conventions of a Thriller
 The music- needs to create suspense, tense,
moody and eerie environment.
 Dark Colours- to reflect the mood and to
set
the scene e.g. black & white, blue tinges.
 Twists in the plot- an in depth story line will engage
the audience into watching the film.
 Mystery- In a thriller there needs to be more mystery to
what is going on in the film, otherwise it becomes too
predictable.
 Locations- Mostly set in cities as it could lead
to conspiracies about the government,
although they can be in the countryside.
 Technology- There is a high emphasis on
technology as most thrillers are based in the
future
