Need a fun way to teach: TECHNOLOGY MATH ART LANGUAGE ARTS SOCIAL STUDIES
This project supports the following: TECHNOLOGY Standard 8.1.4.A.5 Determine the benefits of a wide range of digital tools by using them to solve problems. Standard 8.1.8.A.5 Select and use appropriate tools and digital resources to accomplish a variety of tasks and to solve problems. Standard 8.1.2.C.1 Engage in a variety of developmentally appropriate learning activities with students in other classes, schools, or countries using electronic tools. Standard 8.1.8.C.1  Participate in an online learning community with learners from other countries to understand their perspectives on a global problem or issue, and propose possible solutions. Standard 8.1.2.E.1 Use digital tools and online resources to explore a problem or issue affecting children, and discuss possible solutions. Standard 8.2.2.D.1 Collect and post the results of a digital classroom survey about a problem or issue and use data to suggest solutions. Standard 8.2.4.D.1 Analyze responses collected from owners/users of a particular product and suggest modifications in the design of the product based on their responses.
This project supports the following: MATHEMATICS Standard 5.  Tools and Technology All students will regularly and routinely use calculators, computers, manipulatives, and other mathematical tools to enhance mathematical thinking, understanding, and power. Standard 6. Number Sense All students will develop number sense and an ability to represent numbers in a variety of forms and use numbers in diverse situations. Standard 7. Geometry and Spatial Sense All students will develop spatial sense and an ability to use geometric properties and relationships to solve problems in mathematics and in everyday life. Standard 9. Measurement All students will develop an understanding of and will use measurement to describe and analyze phenomena
This project supports the following: LANGUAGE ARTS Standard 3.1 All students will understand and apply the knowledge of sounds, letters, and words in written English to become independent and fluent readers, and will read a variety of materials and texts with fluency and comprehension. Standard 3.2 All students will write in clear, concise, and organized language that varies in content and form for different audiences and purposes Standard 3.4 All students will listen actively to information from a variety of sources in a variety of situations. Standard 3.5 All students access, view, evaluate, and respond to print, non print, and electronic text and resources
This project supports the following: SOCIAL STUDIES Standard 6.1.4.C.9 Compare and contrast how access to and use of resources affects people across the world differently. ART Standard 5-6.1.2.6 D.1 – Individually or collaboratively create two and three dimensional works of art employing the elements and principles of art. Standard 5-6.1.2.6 D.3 – Recognize and use various media and materials to create different works of art.
