Rudyard Kipling was a Nobel Prize-winning author born in 1865 in Bombay, India. He was sent to boarding school at age 6 and struggled with abuse. He had a career in journalism before moving to the United States and writing some of his most famous works, including The Jungle Book. Kipling received widespread acclaim and is considered one of the greatest adventure novelists of the 20th century. He wrote poems, short stories, and novels that drew from his experiences and explored themes of British imperialism before passing away in London in 1936.
