- What is ADE? Adobe digital editions is a free software, available for both Macs and PCs. It allows you to organize and manage DRM and non-drm e-books. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management and protects copyrighted material from being disseminated illegally. Some JHU e-books are non-drm and can be freely downloaded, shared and printed, However DRM protected JHU e-books will require the use of Adobe digital editions. For example, all e-books available through EBL are DRM protected and will require Adobe Digital Editions to read and download.
- Choose your operating system, either PC or mac and then Follow the directions and prompts from the ADE “Set-up Assistant”
- If you already have an Adobe ID, enter it and click “Activate”- Otherwise, select “get an Adobe ID online” and you’ll be re-directed to the ADE registration page.
Registering for and Adobe Account Step 1: Select “Create an Adobe Account” in the yellow bar and follow the steps to create an Adobe Account.-Once completed, return to your Adobe Digital Editions installation page and enter your new Adobe ID and hit “activate”
