8:30-9:30 S.A.F.E. Solutions for Demountable Modular Wall Systems - 1 LU (HSW - SD)
Speaker: Mr. Daniele Angelozzi, Nordwall
This course will better inform the designer on demountable modular wall systems. The designer will
gain an understanding of modular wall systems and know how to properly design and install these
systems. The designer will also learn how to qualify for LEED™ points when specifying this system.
9:35-10:35 Veneer Wall Surfacing 1 LU (HSW)

Discover and develop skill in using the special terminology of high quality veneer wall surfacing using
AWS, recognize the importance of “The Big 5” elements of a wood paneling specification, understand
the requirements for Fire Rated paneling, and reduce the design and development timeline for
woodwork elements

During this presentation you will explore moisture transport mechanisms in vertical building assemblies,
determine the function and benefits of a rainscreen and review strategies for drainage and drying in vertical
building assemblies.

1:05-2:05pm Drain Water Heat Recovery – Design for Cost Effective Energy Savings

Drain water heat recovery technology have been widely designed into residential and commercial
buildings in Canada and many other countries. While dwhr technology provides points toward Leed
certification it also is also very cost effective and should be considered in most any project. After taking
this course you have an intuitive sense about where Dwhr makes sense to consider and include into your
projects.

Define and Discuss Sustainability Issues, Compare construction materials for “green” compatibility,
Identify and select various Green Rating Tools, Compare/contrast Green Building Programs, Evaluate
various EWP products based on the deconstruction/reconstruction principle and Discuss EWP framing
systems recognized as “green” by current Green Build programs.
3:20- 4:20 What’s So Green About ICFs? (ICF) 1 LU (HSW - SD)
Speaker: Mr. Richard DiVito, Innovative Building Products
In this presentation ICFs will be discussed against the backdrop of green building standards as they are
now emerging. The sustainable building opportunities afforded by ICFs will be presented, along with the
design approach that can be employed to best exploit these opportunities. Audience members will leave
with a concise strategy on how to employ ICF components to further the sustainable building objectives
stated in modern building standards.
