Film opening ideas British Gangster Film Horror British Social Realism Thriller Old school gangster film, British based film, cockney accent as voice over introducing the setting and characters Genre glamorises guns, cars, violence, drugs and woman Genre contains fast paced cuts, pans, close ups  Opening we came up with includes: Traditional voice over introducing characters, stills on character with a flashback of their background, footage parallel with the voice over Glamorises guns, knives, violence, drugs and woman  Similar to the British Gangster genre but the difference between the 2 genres is how the characters and surroundings are different at different times e.g. gangster films made in the year 2000+ are different to gangster films made in the 1900’s Opening we came up with includes: pans of estate, groups of youths in hoodies, close ups of knives guns etc and opening told from a persons point of view that lives the ‘Gangster life’  Popular type of film to create, keeps audience on their toes, overlapping sun genres, usually contains heroes and villains Secretive slow shot types, eerie music, chase scenes etc Opening we came up with includes: Boy and girl, boy with wrong intentions, girl uneducated and fooled by lust, cross cutting between 2 characters Very popular genre with directors, contains slow pans, gruesome images, hero and villain can sometimes subvert genre Opening we came up with includes: Lots of points of view shots, dark setting, eerie music, stalker following a victim, shots of iconic props within the genre Horror Films   are unsettling films designed to frighten and panic and invokes hidden fears
