What is it?
A   QR code (abbreviated from Quick
   Response code) is a type of matrix
   barcode (or two-dimensional code)
   designed to be read by smartphones. The
   code usually consists of black modules
   arranged in a square pattern on a white
   background. The information encoded
   may be text, a URL, or other data.

direct people to related material.

QR Codes to promote an event
1. Create QR code
(http://qrcode.kaywa.com) that will go to a
URL promoting an event.
2. Create a simple web page (ie, Google
Sites) to promote that event.
3. Print small notes with the title: What's
happening this week at ______??? Scan this
code with your mobile device to find out!

                    A teacher created
                    this code for a
                    school reading
                    event.
Good Tips!
QR codes should direct consumers to a mobile
landing page, otherwise they load slowly, do not
format correctly, and do not allow for easy browsing

They also must be accompanied by a clear call to
action, encouraging consumers to scan for a
discount or to receive useful information. After
consumers scan the QR code, there must be an
exclusive offer or important content or information
waiting for them.

Some codes creators have reporting tools.

Agents should keep the URL short to make the code
easier to scan.
Remember your audience!
 Never  use a QR code without placing url
  somewhere in the marketing piece if that
  is were you are directing people and you
  have room.

On an internet-capable mobile phone with free software installed, just aiming
the camera at a Tag to “Snap” it instantly accesses mobile
content, videos, music, contact information, maps, social
networks, promotions, or whatever the Tag has been set to point at.
