How Education Is A Major Factor
The above graph shows the how education is a major factor in the variation of changes of the United
States during this time frame. For the birth year, it would be the birth year of the parents of the
students going to college. The percent is the percentage of students that completed college. As you can
easily tell that the elite class keeps rising, while the low class barely moves. The developed country of
the United States has increased the college costs for students in recent years. Higher costs only benefit
the wealthy and lower income students lose in this situation. Lower income households end up
borrowing too much. It doesn t affect the elite; in fact, they have the largest spike opposed to the other
classes. Although college completion rates have increased, the cost of borrowing has also increased
for lower class households. In a developing country, since there is more poverty and less parents that
went to college, it led to most adults not having any schooling.
During my research, I came to a realization that the United States is actually increasing slowly in
income inequality. I saw this in another factor: health. The U.S. has a universal health care system that
sometimes benefits people by providing little cost co pays. The length of life varies among the
individuals and it was found that additional income allows for better care of oneself. This says that
greater income inequality will produce greater inequality of life spans within countries. The life

Using material from item A and elsewhere, assess the usefulness of Marxist approach to an
understanding of crime and deviance (21 marks) There are numerous Marxist theories that help us to
understand crime and deviance in different ways, however they are all based around the same ideas.
They believe capitalism causes crime in three different ways including, selective law enforcement,
criminogenic capitalism and ideological nature of the law. Traditional Marxists believe that crime is
inevitable in all societies because capitalism is criminogenic suggesting that it is societies very nature
that causes crime. According to traditional Marxists society causes capitalism in different ways. One
of which is due to poverty. The lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As well as defining individuals as social failures directing the blame away from the system. And
thirdly defining criminals as animals and sick for example, justifying putting them in prison. Keeping
these individuals out of the public eye allows us to forget why the crime occurred needed to help us
solve the problems. Traditional Marxists also explore the ideological nature of the law; this function is
valuable in allowing the ruling class to maintain their position of wealth. This process is what
Althusser named the ideological state apparatus. This includes the school and the variety of forms of
media, and it is through these that the ruling class is able to socialise individuals into accepting ruling
class ideology. ISAs are responsible for promoting ruling class values of self interest and competition
and as a result create a society in which basic values support the capitalist political and economic
system. Marxists also believe that crime and the law can perform an ideological function by
essentially brain washing individuals. For example some laws may appear to benefit the working class
for example the health and safety laws at work, but these, according to a Marxist Frank Pearce are
only there to benefit the capitalists by ensuring a fit and healthy work force. In addition to this by
prosecuting a large proportion of the working class it makes it look like the capitalists are

Other observations were made regarding the nearby stars GJ667A and GJ667B. The age of these two
stars were estimated to be between 2 10 billion years old, thus GJ667C was similar in age. The mass
of GJ667C star was to be around 0.33 Msun. The luminosity and surface temperature of GJ 667C
using models for the mass, metallicity, and age. The orbital data for this star showed a slightly
eccentric orbit of 0.27. The boundaries were determined for the zone where liquid water could exist on
an Earth like planet and planet c was found within that boundary. The data was also compared to
known limits that make Venus uninhabitable and Mars habitable. The ultimate capability to support
liquid water depends on other properties that are not known. There needs to be more studies on
climate and geological models to assess chances of supporting life on this Earth like planet. Finally,
there were more observations of signals with longer periods but the data had poor fits and were
unstable on time scales, so they were not used.

Heredity and Hormones Effect on Behavior Essay
Human behavior has been a mystery to scientists and psychologists for years. What causes humans to
act the way they do? Is it learned by experience, or inherited from prior generations? The human brain
is a complex machine driven by numerous intangibles that influence our thinking process directly and
indirectly.
The endocrine system in the human body stores a chemical known as hormones. Hormones are
released by endocrine glands into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body carrying messages.
A hormonal impulse is similar to a nerve impulse only much slower. The messages carried by the
hormones trigger different behaviors. Hormones can affect behavior in many ways such as: Mental
activity or tiredness, boredom or excitement, sexual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both glands produce two distinct hormones, but produce differing amounts of each hormone.
Masculine hormones such as androgens and testosterone are predominately produced by male testes.
These hormones at high levels can be related to aggressive behavior regardless of sex, but high levels
are most commonly found in males. High levels of feminine hormones or estrogen, most commonly
found in females, have recently been linked to aggressive behavior as well. While high levels of
estrogen in females and high levels of testosterone in males have been linked to aggressive behavior,
normal levels of these hormones have been known to cause aggression as well. Although these
hormones have been related to human behavior, scientists have concluded that these hormones alone
do not dictate behavior (Morris Maisto, 2005).
Adrenal glands, located near the kidneys, secrete several hormones that are activated by the nervous
system. These hormones dictate the body s reaction to stressful situations. Each person secretes a
different amount of hormones, therefore affecting behavior in stressful situations differently (Morris
Maisto, 2005).
Behavior is party affected by human hormones present in the body built from genetic traits inherited
from the individual s parents. The genetic makeup of an individual combined with a certain
environment, can affect behavior. Genetics is the science of analyzing traits inherited through
generations. These traits are determined by genes that

improving the product quality. This venture will be open to all designers and its office permits
designers to concentrate on making the database outline keeping in mind giving the application server
a chance to characterize table in view of the fields in JSP and connections between them. Enhancing
Software Quality Assurance Using Bug Tracking Framework is a robotized framework that can be
valuable to representatives and the directors in any utilitarian association. This Bug Tracking System
gives the office to characterize the assignments in the association furthermore permits the directors to
track the bugs spent by the worker for that specific undertaking. A report era office is upheld in BTS
(Bug Tracking System) that permits the administrators to examine which those aptitudes by
representative are used and those which are not used. This device can help administrators for Bug

Collecting Coins Vs Stacking Bullion
Collecting Coins vs Stacking Bullion
Bullion (noun) physical precious metal valued by its content, weight, and market price.
Bullion Coin (noun) a coin struck and guaranteed by a government mint with a legal tender face value,
comprised of precious metal and kept as a store of value rather than used in day to day commerce.
A bullion coin typically sells for a premium (higher price) over the precious metal s spot price on
global commodities exchanges. Reasons include their comparative small size(s) to large 1,000 and 400
oz bullion bars and the costs associated with their manufacture, storage, and distribution. Bullion coin
sizes can vary from as small at 1 gram to a record breaking 1 tonne (32,150 troy ounces) weight.
The amount of a gold coin s premium for example (its price over the fluctuating spot price for gold)
also varies depending on the coin s type, weight, and the precious metal content. A gold collector coin
premium is also affected by prevailing supply and demand factors amongst coin collectors and coin
stores.
Bullion Round (noun) a coin like item struck by a private bullion mint, comprised of precious metal
and kept as a store of value rather than used in day to day commerce.
Bullion Bar (noun) an ingot struck by both private and government bullion mints, comprised of
precious metal and kept as a store of value rather than used in day to day commerce.

Baskin (1972) used the market model to investigate the information content of consistency exception
type of qualifications and to discover whether the nature of the exception affected investors decisions.
He indicated that there was little effect, and that the consistency exception type audit report possessed
no information content. Firth (1978) in order to evaluate the impact of releasing qualified audit reports
on share prices on the date of the release of the report and their impact on investment decisions and
concluded that share prices responded to certain types of qualifications and therefore the type of
qualification influences investors decisions. He also added that investors react differently to various
types of audit qualifications. In another survey, Firth (1980) used questionnaires, so that he could find
out whether qualified and unqualified audit reports have information content to discover whether bank
lending decisions and credit analysts reactions were affected by qualifications and the type of
qualification. He also implied that these results indicate the audit report should contain more detail in
this situation so as to help readers of the report to appraise the importance of the qualification for their
decision making. Houghton (1983) in an experimental study, investigate the impact of the audit

The powerful score moves along with the story, in perfect counterpoint to the visuals never intrusive,
but always effective. The scenes of artfully prepared meals are enough to make mouths water, and it s
almost possible to smell the pungent aroma of cigars. In these elements of the film, Scorsese was ably
assisted by contributions from composer Elmer Bernstein and cinematographer Michael Ballhaus.
The set design and costumes are flawless, and the audience is legitimately transported to the
nineteenth century (through the help of Troy, NY, where the principal filming was done, and the
Philadelphia Academy of Music, which doubled as a New York opera house). This is not some mere
token attempt to conjure up images of times past; Scorsese has put so much effort into the illusion that
those who didn t know better would be willing to swear that he had discovered a time capsule.
Adapting from the 1921 Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Edith Wharton (who also wrote Ethan Frome,
a similar story of love and loss, which reached American screens earlier this year), Scorsese and Jay
Cocks have successfully incorporated the conflict of emotion against societal pressures which lies at
the heart of The Age of Innocence. Those watching the movie will understand that it is no easy task to
resurrect a code of behavior long dead and buried.
Daniel Day Lewis never fails to impress, even when he appears in a poor film. For the most part,
however, he has chosen

Polar Bears Dealing With Climate Change
How are polar bears dealing with climate change? Let me tell you. Polar Bears food is diminishing,
fast. According to National Geographic, the population of polar bears has dropped 40 percent from
2001 2010. Here are strategies that polar bears have adapted too.
Putting Leftovers on Ice
Polar bears have been trapping food and eating it later, which is unusual for them. However, because
food keeps declining, this won t last long.
Surf and Turf on the Menu
Polar bears rely on snow geese now as backup food. Their eggs are equivalent to eating one stick of
butter. Additionally, seaweed, fish and whale carcasses are on the menu, but unfortunately that is not
enough for them. This diet is not enough for polar bears to survive as a whole.

Changing the Legal Driving Age to Eighteen
Every day teens are given access to automobiles. Every day these young people go to their jobs,
classes, and athletic practices. Do they all abuse their driving privileges? No. Then why restrict all
teens, including the law abiding and mature, by raising the driving age? This debate reaches all across
the nation, to all levels of government, and many related laws and propositions can be found. If the
driving age is increased, teenagers will have more difficulty getting jobs and gaining experience. On
the other hand, if the driving age is 18, new drivers will have more maturity. So the question remains,
should the legal driving age be 18 years old? No, the current driving age ... Show more content on

Says teen Stefanie Zimmers, Honestly, I don t follow all the traffic rules (Zimmers 1). Likewise, teens
need to focus on their schoolwork instead of recreational driving. The time wasted driving friends
around could be better spent studying for a test. These friends are also a danger and distraction to the
young, inexperienced driver. Teens need the extra couple of years to mature and become more
attentive. In contrast, many believe that 16 years old is old enough to operate a motor vehicle. Many
minors living with their parents face punishments, such as suspension of driving privileges, if they get
a ticket or in a collision. They fear losing the ability to drive the family car if they break traffic laws,
and often decide to obey the laws rather than be punished. In addition, teens need transportation to
their jobs, classes, various entertainment venues, sports practices and competitions. Parents often lack
the time to chauffeur the young adults to and from these places. Driving is imperative to teenage life.
The ability to drive allows a teenager to be less dependent on their parents and more able to take on
additional responsibilities. Without driving privileges, teens would not be able to get to the
destinations previously listed.
Furthermore, the common belief that teen car crashes often involve alcohol is false.

The anti rational approach leaves only a slight room for criticism and reflection (Strimpel, 2008). The
researchers followed the exploratory approach, as they previously carried out a study so they had
already confirmed their outcome, however, this study looked further into it by asking participants what
they think. The exporter approach allows flexibility in experiments, and confirmatory use pre
specified designs, and hypothesis (Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014). Exploratory studies, support
confirmatory, as it precisely produces methodologies to support the researcher s hypothesis
(Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014). If the author carried out this study, they would have followed the
rationalist approach to get the insider perspectives of others, rather than the outside facts of child

The findings of the data were valid as it captured what their aims were (Hardicre, 2014), nevertheless,
the participant s knowledge limited them to answer current service provisions, therefore, the findings

The Conflict Between Tradition And Western Influence On...
In 2014, Binyavanga Wainaina, a well known Kenyan author and journalist, wrote, There is no
country in the world with the diversity, confidence, talent and black pride like Nigeria. There is
certainly truth to these words. The west african country of Nigeria has proven itself to be a successful
and enduring land. As the English began exploring and colonizing the land grounded in tradition and
folklore, Nigeria effectively adapted and grew. Even when torn apart, Nigeria has pulled itself back

But one aspect of Nigeria has proven itself to be rich, transformative, and long lasting: literature.
Nigeria has produced rich literature that shows the conflict between tradition and western influence as
well as dividing war. Further, Nigerian literature answers to this clash with a call to reconciliation and
balance of the two.
A brief look into the history of Nigeria would be beneficial before considering the literary culture and

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Personality Traits
Most personality theories share a common interest in traits. Theorists have become fascinated with
traits, as they essentially tell us what makes us, us. Perpetual features within us demonstrated by our
actions within everyday life. Trait theory aims to assess personality, whilst identifying and measuring
the extent of particular repetitive personality traits for example shyness and analysing how much these
traits vary from person to person. Trait theory is perhaps the most widely used perspective when it
comes to analysing personality and it vastly differs in comparison to other theoretical perspectives. In
order to test the validity of trait theories this essay will identify its key theories, focusing on how
personality traits are defined and measured. These will include Allport s central traits, Cattell s sixteen
personality factors, Eysenck s EPQ three dimensions and the big five. Unveiling the differences
between trait theories, looking at application of trait theory, whilst identifying its strengths and
weaknesses, as well as uncovering the personality paradox alternative perspective to trait theory in
order to test trait theories validity.
Allport was a dominant theorist during the early stages of personality analysis within the psychology
field, he searched through a dictionary, choosing from it over 4,000 words which can be used to define
personality. He then took this colossal amount and subdivided it into three key sections. As he
believed personality to

Descriptive Essay About Mamaw s House
A majority of my favorite days were spent at Mamaw s house. When I think about that rustic white
house sitting in the middle of that vast farm, I think of it as a place where I am myself, and it is a place

The Industrial Revolution In America
Industrial Revolution in America
The industrial revolution in America took place in the nineteenth and twentieth century. During this
period there was mass production, modern technologies were made, people were getting rich and this
made America to be the global superpower in the world. The united states economy grew fast.
America became so rich that mark twain called it the Gilded Age
Although there Britain was the first to have access to the industrial revolution in the 17th and 18th
century, my focus will be on the American industrial revolution. Industrial revolution came into
existence after the end of the civil war. During the revolution transportation, electricity, and industrial
building came into existence and became very popular and made very significant changes in the

Bush, as well as our society, feels the president should be strong especially in international politics
and policies. When the United States was attacked September 11, 2001, the people looked to the
president to lead, and in essence, seek revenge. On both of these levels of domestic considerations, we
will never know to exactly what extent they influence the president s choice of action, but they help us
in understanding some of the foreign policy decisions. Going beyond the individual to the
expectations of the position, the role consideration plays an influential domestic part in the response to
an external event and ultimately foreign policymaking. Furthermore to do this, Bush s administration
has outlined some specific objectives. Allies are crucial to conduct foreign operations, so the Bush has
joined several international organizations that allow it to serve at the forefront of international policy.
Some of the more famous ones are the United Nations, which is the biggest organization and has

Examples Of Conflict In Father And Son
The clash between ideas of one generation and the ideas of the next creates conflicts between parents
and children. In this case, between fathers and sons. For example in Ivan Turgenev s novel Father and
Sons (1862), the central conflict is depicted through the motif of generational differences, which are
revealed through the portrayal of each character and his or her relationship to others.
In Father and Sons, Turgenev reveals this conflict between the traditionalists Pavel in contrast to the
modernist, Bazarov. This conflict is raised because of each characters generation and belief. For
example Pavel is from an older generation who follows an old traditional Russian ideology. However,
Bazarov rejects the old traditional Russian ideologies and concentrate on the modern thinking of
Nihilism. Because of the two very different ideologies and beliefs, it is inevitable that there will be a
sense of tension and hatred building between the two characters which will eventually lead to climax
when one of the characters goes overboard, which is shown during the duel of Bazarov and Pavel.

History Of A Fire Regime And Where We Are Today
Jillian Spies, Assignment #1, FRST 547 Forestry in British Columbia
Wildfire in British Columbia: The History of a Fire Regime and Where We Are Today
The extraordinary wildfires that burned in 2015 worried many British Columbians. That year, 304,460
hectares of land was burned by wildfires in the province (Lori Daniels, personal communication, Oct.
30, 2015). Compared to the 10 year average of 115,000 hectares per year (Lori Daniels, personal
communication, Oct. 30, 2015), this is a staggeringly large number. With almost three times the area
of forest burned in 2015, one might ask why this increase occurred. The wildfire regime in British
Columbia (BC) can be traced back to a time when Indigenous people occupied and managed their
relationship with the land without the influence of colonialism and the modern day government of
Canada. When the government did start interfering, much of the land previously burned by First
Nations was no longer permitted to burn. The landscape was changed because of this fire exclusion
practice, and as a result, the province of BC is seeing many negative changes in the landscape,
including an increase in the severity of wildfires. The purpose of this paper is to prove that wildfire
has shaped the landscape of BC through Indigenous burnings, and as a result of wildfire exclusion in
the 20th century, there is an increase in wildfire severity and frequency today. In order to understand
how wildfire has influenced BC, one must first

Literary Devices In Ethan Frome
In the book Ethan Frome many very important themes appear. These themes include: silence,
isolation, and consequences. The most important and the one that appears the most in the book is
consequences. The author presents these themes in ways to help the reader learn more in depth about
the characters and the author. While also learning lessons about real life situations.
The book is set mostly around the theme of responsibility vs. consequences. Not only does the book
teach the reader about how this could affect the characters lives but also how it could affect the reader
s own life. The author gives many examples of real life situations on consequences and responsibility.
For example, He was planning to take advantage of the Hales sympathy to obtain the money...
deceiving two kindly people who had pitied him (Ch.8, Pg. 97). From this example the reader is
shown that Frome has finally realized that his responsibility to Zeena was to take care of her the way
that she so kindly did for his mother. What the author is trying to teach the reader is that when
someone is kind enough to help you when you are in need, then when they are in need you should
return the favor. The author also is teaching the reader that you shouldn t take from others if you don t
need what you are taking.
Also in the book, the author is uses many literary devices. Some of these devices include: symbolism,
motif, and irony. These devices are used to help the reader become more involved in the

Scaphoid Report Sample
Summery
Background
Clinical evaluation of suspected scaphoid injury is based on history, inspection and physical
examination. Improving the accuracy of the non radiological part of the evaluation will limit
unnecessary immobilization and expensive imaging modalities when standard radiographs appear
normal.
Objectives
To provide an overview of available clinical evaluation tests for scaphoid fractures and to compare
their diagnostic accuracies.
Methods
We performed a systematic review of all studies assessing diagnostic characteristics of clinical
evaluation in scaphoid fractures by searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, and CINAHL
databases. Only studies on clinical testing prior to radiographic evaluation and with acceptable
reference standard for occult fractures were included. Thirteen relevant articles were analysed that
described a total of 25 tests. Diagnostic characteristics of the tests were used to construct contingency
tables. If possible, data were pooled and summary receiver operating characteristic curves (SROC)
were fitted.
Results
The search provided 2072 titles of which 13 were relevant and eligible for data extraction. A total of

respectively, and painful ulnar deviation, ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and 0.17 to 0.60, respectively.
Three studies showed that combining tests increased the specificity and post test fracture probability
while maintaining high sensitivity. Quality assessment mainly showed high or unclear risk of bias and
applicability concerns in reference standard and patient selection. Twelve study designs were

It s Time to Redesign the Parking Lot Essay
When the bell rings for students to go home the quiet and serene field of asphalt in front of school
becomes a sinkhole and everyone is fighting to get out. Most school parking lots are accessible, safe,
and orderly; the Hinckley Big Rock High School parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. With so
many problems, a slight redesign of the schools main parking lot would seem practical.
Anytime the idea of making any corrections or additions to the parking lot comes up in a discussion,
the notion is put down due to the time the parking lot would be unusable while under renovation. How
long does it take pavers to put in a residential driveway? A licensed and bonded concrete crew can lay
multiple driveways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the first hour bell rings on the first day of school the parking lot has few cars and they are
packed into certain areas. Why should spots be handed out numerically? A first come first serve basis
for assigning parking spots to students only causes crowding and large empty spaces. With only
enough cars to fill up half a parking lot, it would make sense to spread them out evenly. Numbers for
these spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an ease of
entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out for every other vehicle
around. Then later in the year as needed the odd numbered spots can be issued, filling up all empty
spaces.
When vehicles are on both sides of a spot it can be difficult to pull straight into a parking spot without
having to back out and try again because of the tight aisle. If all the spots are tight together and the
students have to back in there will be a large back up and there will be total tyranny.
Hinckley Big Rock High School has many students that come from farming families and for the most
part drive trucks. These trucks can be inches or even feet longer than the spot that is provided to them.
These students need larger spots because the part of their vehicle that is sticking out into the aisle is

Literary Devices In Medea
When Love Backfires
Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC.
It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact,
Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like
most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless
theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of
identity in relation to marriage.
The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What
is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is
by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the
presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and
feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but
instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she
sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re
used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea,
870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps
portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving
her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a
refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn
but to anger and rage.
The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text
works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters
within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you
want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be
generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not

The denotation of this passage is the fact that the main character had come home drunk and literally
just used a knife to take one eyeball off the cat. In this passage, we see visual imagery because the
author describes in detail the state in which the author enters the house, the way he picks up the cat,
and the way he kills the cat, which makes the character seem even more insane. For the direct
characterization of the main character, we can see that he is a drunk and likes when people avoid him.
He also has a problem with his identity and states that he forgot his true self the moment before taking
the cat s eyeballs out. As for the indirect characterization, the main character becomes a very
aggressive person after alcohol consumption since he seizes the cat from the throat and tries to abuse
him. The main character can also be characterised as an insane person with weird and mad ways in
abusing a creature since he pops the cat s eyes out. The cat might also be characterised as a strong cat

Postmodernism Has Changed The Representation Of Women
This literature review will explore how and to what extent postmodernism has changed the
representation of women in images. Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the
centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural
are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the
1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have
combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of,
how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies.
When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by
postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the
structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of
representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further
investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented,
whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. Using a variety of texts, the main
debates regarding this topic will be explored through critiquing selected theorists in order to develop
upon my own research. The following academic writings will be referenced: Weedon (1987),

Essay on Accounting Communications between Males and Females
Communication can be a daunting task in today society. The forms of communication are constantly
changing and evolving. In the beginning stages of humanity talking was irrelevant. The actions of a
human spoke louder than words. However, the age of technology is slowly destroying not only the
communication but also the society itself. In the current age humans are living in a life created for
them. The people will have been trained to focus more on the outside world rather than the inside
world. Studies show that the inside world actually produces the physical world. Nothing can be

Either male or female has the power to say the wrong words and hostile actions become available.
Arguments are the main focus within a distraught couple. Honestly, words carry an abundance of
power. A select word can be associated with a tragedy and will spark different attitudes instantly. For
example, couples will argue all the time. However, it isn t until one strike a nerve with a word that

The play is a comedy, which centres on two couples and their love affairs, although there are other
subplots, which involve disguise and trickery. The scene itself focuses on the wedding of Claudio and
Hero during which Claudio strongly rejects Hero. It is a dramatic scene where the tension of the
audience is most raised during the play. This is due to the characters theatrical behavior and language.
It also opens new doors for other relationships to evolve such as Beatrice and Benedick, who

Leonato s excuse for being too busy to listen because of the wedding is known as dramatic irony
because something this important should make Leonato listen. Because of Leonato not wanting to

The part of the scene where Hero is rejected is very powerful. In many productions of this play the
character of Claudio is made violent, this also happens in the production by Kenneth Brag , which we
studied. Such ways as pushing Hero and shouting at her with abusive language of that time make
Claudio s behavior vicious and shocking. Claudio rejects Hero in a very dreadful approach using
various techniques of behaviour and body language. His behavior is strong and alarming, he shuffles
her on her arms, almost shaking her and pushes her onto the ground in a disgusted manner. As well as
his shocking behavior, Claudio also uses abusive language to bring out his feelings. Such examples of
language that he uses are a rotten orange , that she is a bad thing, that she looks virtuous on the
outside, but not on the inside. Another example of language that he uses is approved wanton , in those
days known as a proven whore that she is not worth a lot, in fact very little. Throughout Claudio s
behaviour he uses the

Montesquieu s Spirit Of Laws And Jean Jacques Rousseau s...
What entity dictates life on the most fundamental level? Is it the government or the people who permit
the government to exist? This is the main point of contention between Baron de Montesquieu s Spirit
of Laws and Jean Jacques Rousseau s On the Social Contract. Interestingly, their interpretation of
different forms of government converge on the sovereignty of a democracy, but that is where most of
their common ground lies. While Rousseau shares similarities on the sovereign authority of a
democracy with Montesquieu, he departs by arguing how regardless of government, sovereignty
always rests in the hands of the people. He also disagrees on how the populace should participate in
the democracy and on their representation in government, making his principles more relevant today.

Laura Bohannan(1966) in her story Shakespeare in the Bush describes a tribe called Tiv. It is an ethno

members of the tribe live in homesteads. In the homestead described by Bohannan( 1966) there were
about one hundred forty relatives living together; men, women and children. The elder men of the
tribe hold an especially esteemed role. The oldest among them is the leader. Women do not hold the
same position in the homestead as men, although a man is obliged to respect his mother and never
scold her ( Bohannan, p. 6.) The young men of the tribe do not hold the same respect as do elders
because they lack wisdom. Men, and especially the leader are expected to marry multiple wives and
have many children with each one of them. This provides hands to work on the farm, as it is mainly

the diseased, then he becomes a real father to his brother s children. Woman whose husband dies need
to marry immediately to have someone take care of her and her farm. The leader of the homestead
spends most of his time performing ceremonies. Most of the ceremonies demand the participation of
other elders from several homesteads located nearby. Rising swamps disrupt communication

  • 2. How Education Is A Major Factor The above graph shows the how education is a major factor in the variation of changes of the United States during this time frame. For the birth year, it would be the birth year of the parents of the students going to college. The percent is the percentage of students that completed college. As you can easily tell that the elite class keeps rising, while the low class barely moves. The developed country of the United States has increased the college costs for students in recent years. Higher costs only benefit the wealthy and lower income students lose in this situation. Lower income households end up borrowing too much. It doesn t affect the elite; in fact, they have the largest spike opposed to the other classes. Although college completion rates have increased, the cost of borrowing has also increased for lower class households. In a developing country, since there is more poverty and less parents that went to college, it led to most adults not having any schooling. During my research, I came to a realization that the United States is actually increasing slowly in income inequality. I saw this in another factor: health. The U.S. has a universal health care system that sometimes benefits people by providing little cost co pays. The length of life varies among the individuals and it was found that additional income allows for better care of oneself. This says that greater income inequality will produce greater inequality of life spans within countries. The life expectancy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Using material from item A and elsewhere, assess the usefulness of Marxist approach to an understanding of crime and deviance (21 marks) There are numerous Marxist theories that help us to understand crime and deviance in different ways, however they are all based around the same ideas. They believe capitalism causes crime in three different ways including, selective law enforcement, criminogenic capitalism and ideological nature of the law. Traditional Marxists believe that crime is inevitable in all societies because capitalism is criminogenic suggesting that it is societies very nature that causes crime. Traditional Marxists also explore the ideological nature of the law; this function is valuable in allowing the ruling class to maintain their position of wealth. This process is what Althusser named the ideological state apparatus. This includes the school and the variety of forms of media, and it is through these that the ruling class is able to socialise individuals into accepting ruling class ideology. ISAs are responsible for promoting ruling class values of self interest and competition and as a result create a society in which basic values support the capitalist political and economic system. Marxists also believe that crime and the law can perform an ideological function by essentially brain washing individuals. For example some laws may appear to benefit the working class for example the health and safety laws at work, but these, according to a Marxist Frank Pearce are only there to benefit the capitalists by ensuring a fit and healthy work force. • 5. Heredity and Hormones Effect on Behavior Essay Human behavior has been a mystery to scientists and psychologists for years. What causes humans to act the way they do? Is it learned by experience, or inherited from prior generations? The human brain is a complex machine driven by numerous intangibles that influence our thinking process directly and indirectly. The endocrine system in the human body stores a chemical known as hormones. Hormones are released by endocrine glands into the bloodstream and travel throughout the body carrying messages. A hormonal impulse is similar to a nerve impulse only much slower. The messages carried by the hormones trigger different behaviors. Both glands produce two distinct hormones, but produce differing amounts of each hormone. Masculine hormones such as androgens and testosterone are predominately produced by male testes. These hormones at high levels can be related to aggressive behavior regardless of sex, but high levels are most commonly found in males. High levels of feminine hormones or estrogen, most commonly found in females, have recently been linked to aggressive behavior as well. While high levels of estrogen in females and high levels of testosterone in males have been linked to aggressive behavior, normal levels of these hormones have been known to cause aggression as well. Although these hormones have been related to human behavior, scientists have concluded that these hormones alone do not dictate behavior (Morris Maisto, 2005). Adrenal glands, located near the kidneys, secrete several hormones that are activated by the nervous system. These hormones dictate the body s reaction to stressful situations. Each person secretes a different amount of hormones, therefore affecting behavior in stressful situations differently (Morris Maisto, 2005). Behavior is party affected by human hormones present in the body built from genetic traits inherited from the individual s parents. Teens need the extra couple of years to mature and become more attentive. In contrast, many believe that 16 years old is old enough to operate a motor vehicle. Many minors living with their parents face punishments, such as suspension of driving privileges, if they get a ticket or in a collision. They fear losing the ability to drive the family car if they break traffic laws, and often decide to obey the laws rather than be punished. In addition, teens need transportation to their jobs, classes, various entertainment venues, sports practices and competitions. • 23. Examples Of Conflict In Father And Son The clash between ideas of one generation and the ideas of the next creates conflicts between parents and children. In this case, between fathers and sons. For example in Ivan Turgenev s novel Father and Sons (1862), the central conflict is depicted through the motif of generational differences, which are revealed through the portrayal of each character and his or her relationship to others. In Father and Sons, Turgenev reveals this conflict between the traditionalists Pavel in contrast to the modernist, Bazarov. This conflict is raised because of each characters generation and belief. For example Pavel is from an older generation who follows an old traditional Russian ideology. However, Bazarov rejects the old traditional Russian ideologies and concentrate on the modern thinking of Nihilism. Because of the two very different ideologies and beliefs, it is inevitable that there will be a sense of tension and hatred building between the two characters which will eventually lead to climax when one of the characters goes overboard, which is shown during the duel of Bazarov and Pavel. • 25. History Of A Fire Regime And Where We Are Today Jillian Spies, Assignment #1, FRST 547 Forestry in British Columbia Wildfire in British Columbia: The History of a Fire Regime and Where We Are Today The extraordinary wildfires that burned in 2015 worried many British Columbians. That year, 304,460 hectares of land was burned by wildfires in the province (Lori Daniels, personal communication, Oct. 30, 2015). Compared to the 10 year average of 115,000 hectares per year (Lori Daniels, personal communication, Oct. 30, 2015), this is a staggeringly large number. With almost three times the area of forest burned in 2015, one might ask why this increase occurred. The wildfire regime in British Columbia (BC) can be traced back to a time when Indigenous people occupied and managed their relationship with the land without the influence of colonialism and the modern day government of Canada. When the government did start interfering, much of the land previously burned by First Nations was no longer permitted to burn. The landscape was changed because of this fire exclusion practice, and as a result, the province of BC is seeing many negative changes in the landscape, including an increase in the severity of wildfires. The purpose of this paper is to prove that wildfire has shaped the landscape of BC through Indigenous burnings, and as a result of wildfire exclusion in the 20th century, there is an increase in wildfire severity and frequency today. In order to understand how wildfire has influenced BC, one must first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While also learning lessons about real life situations. The book is set mostly around the theme of responsibility vs. consequences. Not only does the book teach the reader about how this could affect the characters lives but also how it could affect the reader s own life. The author gives many examples of real life situations on consequences and responsibility. For example, He was planning to take advantage of the Hales sympathy to obtain the money... deceiving two kindly people who had pitied him (Ch.8, Pg. 97). From this example the reader is shown that Frome has finally realized that his responsibility to Zeena was to take care of her the way that she so kindly did for his mother. What the author is trying to teach the reader is that when someone is kind enough to help you when you are in need, then when they are in need you should return the favor. The author also is teaching the reader that you shouldn t take from others if you don t need what you are taking. Also in the book, the author is uses many literary devices. Improving the accuracy of the non radiological part of the evaluation will limit unnecessary immobilization and expensive imaging modalities when standard radiographs appear normal. Objectives To provide an overview of available clinical evaluation tests for scaphoid fractures and to compare their diagnostic accuracies. Methods We performed a systematic review of all studies assessing diagnostic characteristics of clinical evaluation in scaphoid fractures by searching MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, and CINAHL databases. Only studies on clinical testing prior to radiographic evaluation and with acceptable reference standard for occult fractures were included. Thirteen relevant articles were analysed that described a total of 25 tests. Diagnostic characteristics of the tests were used to construct contingency tables. Numbers for these spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an ease of entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out for every other vehicle around. • 31. Literary Devices In Medea When Love Backfires Euripides Medea is a tragic play that takes place in Corinth, Greece. It was first produced in 431 BC. It was during this time that Corinth and Athens were rivals, fighting to have the upper hand. In fact, Corinth and Sparta teamed together against Athens during the Peloponnesian War in 431 BC. Like most literature, Euripides Medea incorporates the period in which it was written along with a timeless theme. Euripdes uses the literary devices of setting, irony, and symbolism to depict the theme of identity in relation to marriage. The play Medea uses the setting to help the audience better understand the meaning of the text. What is said depends greatly on who is around and where the character(s) are. For example, when Medea is by herself or with the chorus, she is speaking freely of her evil plans, however, when she was in the presences of Creon or Jason, she lied to their faces. The audience knows what her true thoughts and feelings are due to the setting. They are not tricked into thinking she has changed her mind but instead, they know when she is lying based on who she is around. After Medea devised a plan, she sent for Jason and pleades to him, Jason, I ask you to forgive me for the things I said before. You re used to putting up with my temper, since so many acts of love have passed between us... (Medea, 870). This quote is a perfect example of how the setting changes the meaning of the words. This helps portray the overall them of identity. Medea is now full of rage and anger due to her husband leaving her for another woman. She has lost her sense of identity which was found in her husband. She is a refugee in Corinth and has no friends or family. She feels completely alone with nowhere else to turn but to anger and rage. The literary device of irony is strategically used throughout the entire play. The irony within the text works in Medea because the audience understands Medea s thoughts and plans while the characters within the play do not. For instance, Jason says, I will not carry on this quarrel any longer. But if you want to take me up on my offer of money for the children or your own exile say so, I am ready to be generous to you... (Medea, 610). What Jason does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Postmodernism was a time period after modernism, being at the centre of culture. What is to be regarded as postmodern, those things that are seen to occur as natural are in fact shaped by humans, thus making it cultural. Postmodernism was brought as a result from the 1960 s onwards, being a reaction against anti realism modernism. Feminist artists and theorists have combined postmodernism with their own work in order to bring forth the ideas surrounding that of, how cultural forms or representation within the mass media are based around particular ideologies. When referring to representation, when linking this with the works of the theories brought about by postmodernism, how we see ourselves and how we construct the notions of ourselves are through the structure of available images. Feminist theory points to how the construction of gender is an effect of representation. The representation of women in images during the postmodern era, could merit further investigation in order to inform of how women from all over the world have been represented, whether it be regarding their race, nationality, age or sexuality. • 39. Montesquieu s Spirit Of Laws And Jean Jacques Rousseau s... What entity dictates life on the most fundamental level? Is it the government or the people who permit the government to exist? This is the main point of contention between Baron de Montesquieu s Spirit of Laws and Jean Jacques Rousseau s On the Social Contract. Interestingly, their interpretation of different forms of government converge on the sovereignty of a democracy, but that is where most of their common ground lies. While Rousseau shares similarities on the sovereign authority of a democracy with Montesquieu, he departs by arguing how regardless of government, sovereignty always rests in the hands of the people. He also disagrees on how the populace should participate in the democracy and on their representation in government, making his principles more relevant today. Baron de Montesquieu sees the people as sovereign exclusively in a democracy and act through elected bodies or ministers. Since the people have the sole power to enact laws, the rules of suffrage are vital to a successful democracy. Following closely is the need for a fixed amount of active citizens in an assembly. As such, the essence of his democracy revolves around the need for love of the laws and of the country.
