My Favorite Cartoon Essay
Oh how I remember the days where I would wake up at 8am to watch my favorite cartoon shows.
I would eat my breakfast in front of the tv and watch the new episodes that would air. Whether it
be the classics like Tom and Jerry or Looney Tunes, or some new shows like Foster s Home for
Imaginary friends or the PowerPuff Girls. Watching these cartoons brought me solace and joy. It
would bring me to its world of wonder and spectre.
To this day, these shows have taught me many values and morals that I follow and helped shape
me into a better person. It made me think that I would like to give that same feeling to another
person. In that moment, I decide that I wanted to do the same thing and create cartoon shows that
will invoke the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once they saw the picture, they stood there speechless just looking at me and the drawing. When
they finally said something. They said that it was meh. I was once again devastated by what they
had said. This time I was sure that I had gotten them to change their minds. I actually thought that
this would be the one to shut them down. So, I went back to the drawing boards and wondered
about what it was that I had messed up on. I sat there looking down at the drawing, when I
noticed that it looked like it had been rushed. It was covered with curved and out of sync lines.
The eraser marks made the picture look all dark and muddy with all of the smudges that they had
left. I finally realized what was so wrong with my draws. I had rushed all of them.
At this point, I didn t know what to do. I had hit a roadblock with nowhere to turn. I felt like my
dreams were over and that I would never be able to animate my ideas. The next couple of months
I spent my time on other things as I looked for a new pasion. But, none could fill the emptiness of
drawing. The joys of sending your ideas down the pencil expressway to its stop at paperway
station. It felt amazing and nothing could replace that feeling for me. So, I thought that I would
give it another go and this time I would take my time.
Once again I was back at it, only this time I would be rolling down a snail s pace and drawing with
ease. After every correction, I would wipe off the eraser

I Believe Vision And College Alumni Into Accelerating...
Introduction
I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote
autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next
generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs
for career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career
services, director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with
stakeholders students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through
exploration through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity
to lead in providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career
paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and
hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and
rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by
communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career
opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses
and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration.

Changes in America s Agriculture From 1865-1900 Essay
Through the period of 1865 1900, America s agriculture underwent a series of changes .Changes
that were a product of influential role that technology, government policy and economic conditions
played. To extend on this idea, changes included the increase on exported goods, do the availability
of products as well as the improved traveling system of rail roads. In the primate stages of these
developing changes, farmers were able to benefit from the product, yet as time passed by,
dissatisfaction grew within them. They no longer benefited from the changes (economy went bad),
and therefore they no longer supported railroads. Moreover they were discontented with the
approach that the government had taken towards the situation. After the civil... Show more content

Moreover, the document also helps visualize the linking of the regions in which national
markets emerged, as well urbanization and industry expansion. To extend on this idea,
immigration grew alongside industry expansion. For more land became accessible for sale,
which was an advantage to those whom jobs (like those building railroads or working in
companies near them) called for them to live near. Although the most convenient way to transport
goods was using the railroad, it also worsened the economic hardship that farmers had, for the
prices that they had to pay to export their goods, were quite elevated. The rates as well as the lack
of support from the government angered the farmers, and lead them to form farmer alliances and
the Grange, led by Oliver Hudson Kelly. Most farmers, such as the prairie farmer in document C,
sought state regulation on railroad freight rates and pleaded the government consider making new
law. As a response to this, government passed the granger laws in Illinois, which protected farmers
from being abused or discriminated through the high tariffs on exporting their goods. This laws
were later found unconstitutional by Supreme Court, and were replaced by the commerce act of

The Destruction of Yellow Fever
A disease that has yet to be conquered (Barrett Higgs, 2007). Such a quaint, simplistic phrase that
yet effectively describes the disease commonly known today as yellow fever. Over the course of
history, the yellow fever virus (YFV) has decimated populations in various regions all across the
globe. While the overall gross impact of yellow feverhas declined over the years, the virus still
poses a significant threat present day, especially to those in the developing world. The World Health
Organization currently estimates that approximately 200,000 cases of yellow fever occur around
the world each year, resulting in 30,000 fatalities (Bundschuh et al, 2013). Presently, yellow fever
remains without a legitimate cure, and the best defence against the virus lies with preventative
action. WHO identifies its three major yellow fever prevention strategies as vaccination, mosquito
control, and epidemic response (WHO Yellow Fever Fact Sheet, 2014). This being said, through
the combined efforts of scientists, medical workers, governments, and international agencies alike,
the yellow fever virus has been confined to endemic areas throughout Africa and Latin America
(Barrett Higgs, 2007, p.209). With regards to the epidemiological nature of yellow fever,
geographic factors and influences clearly play a significant role. Environments, both physical and
human (ie. social), directly correlate to how the virus behaves, adapts, and survives. Through the
analysis its biology, its

eam building programmes can help your business by improving the communication, levels of trust
and general understanding between the members of a team. They can also help you to solve
problems or to improve planning within the team as a whole. They can also help individuals to
understand group dynamics and their individual skills and how they fit into the teamand their
understanding of their place within the organisation.
It is important when thinking about creating a team building experience for a team in your
organisation that you plan it carefully. A negative experience can irreparably damage your team s
morale and have the opposite effect that you were hoping to create. If you have no in house
expertise in this area it may be worth calling in the experts. Depending on your budget and/or plans
this could involve someone offering an initial consultancy through to designing and administering a
bespoke programme for you. One of the benefits of working with a facilitator for your team
building is that they have experience of using a range of recognised diagnostic tools and
instruments. This means that you can be confident that your team building experience is a positive
one and meets all of your chosen objectives and makes a positive contribution to your business

High Cost Of Replacement Windows Essay
How to Beat the High Cost of Replacement Windows
Do you have old windows that need replacement? Is your contractor quoting a very high price to
replace your window? If you are one of those who is facing this problem, you will be happy to
know that hurricane windows produce as much energy saving as the full replacement windows and
they cost less than 30 percent of the price. Also, they reduce the long term maintenance need of
your house.
Many of the technologies used in window replacements, such as low emissivity glass that prevent
heat from entering and escaping from the house and weatherproof gasket to stop drafts, are a
standard in modern impact resistant windows. Also, these windows keep the water away from
windowsill, which prevents rot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These factory made impact windows also come with a screen and two panes that can be easily
positioned up or down, depending on your requirement. However, these three components operate
only on two channels. Rather than sliding the components up and down, you can easily remove the
screen from the channel, then rearrange the panes and reinstall them. Rearranging the panes will
take a little more effort when the season changes, but it makes the window thinner and therefore
less noticeable.
Wood Exterior Storms
These are single pane windows that come with a wooden frame that can be painted to match the
decor of your room. These windows normally hang from hooks and are mounted on the window
trim that look nearly invisible. When placing an order for these windows, it is a good idea to
order a few screens made in the same fashion so you can swap them onto a few windows
seasonally to allow light and fresh air to enter your home.
Interior Storms
Some households prefer these windows because the cover the existing windows from inside. This
helps in maintaining the antique look of your old house. These factory made storms are made with
thin aluminum frames that can be painted to match your interiors. When these windows are
installed properly, they will press tightly inside the existing window opening. These windows may
not protect the sill from damage, but they look better than the plastic

Existence Of Ghost Research Paper
The Existence of Ghosts
In folklore, mythology, and modern media such as literary fiction, a ghost is the soul or spirit of a
dead person or animal that can appear, invisible form or other manifestation, to the living.
(Wikipedia). The existence of ghosts has always been an alerting and spooky, debatable motion that
humans are curious of. There have been countless amounts of evidence gathered by paranormal
investigators or ghost hunters. From videos of moving objects, recordings of voices from spirits
through EVP, and even pictures of ghosts themselves. All of which the world sees as undeniable or
fraudulent evidence based on one s own self belief. However, with numerous accounts of
documentation from not only paranormal investigators, but actual people from across the world, it
s almost impossible to not believe that such phenomenon exist on earth, and those who do not are
just terrified to accept it.
To determining whether or not the existences of ghosts are true, there are many resources we use
that can gather massive information. To investigate if environmental fluctuations actually occur in
haunted locations, a television production company called Global Media Productions, Los Angeles,
enlisted the help of several technologies. The company used really specific thermometers to take
temperature measurements ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The World Consists Of The Different Types Of People
The world consists of the different types of people in the particular country. The statement
Aboriginal people was new to me because I am from another nation where such kind of
individuals does not exist. I had not taken any subject in my country related to the issues that are
existing in another country such as in America, Canada etc. Canada is the first place where I knew
about aboriginal people. The following paragraphs will show about the situations faced by the
aboriginal people in the past and present day. I got the information about this from the class lecture
notes and from watching the videos related to the indigenous population. It is quite surprising that
the condition of aboriginals was really worst in Canada. The biggest problem is that the people are
suffering from the culture loss. The indigenous persons have to opt with the English language that
is mandatory for them to become a citizen of Canada and they do not get attached to their mother
tongue. A huge change to occur in their life, as they cannot perform their original lifestyle in a new
country. The culture loss was also seen among the students that were sent to the Residential Schools
because they were taken away from the parents and taught another language due to which they lost
their traditional language to communicate with their parents. But afterwards, the government regret
for such residential schools and promise to make new residential schools that will be designed

The Effectiveness Of Abstinence Only Sex Education
Everyone has their own way of raising children. This sometimes causes problems while deciding
on what children should learn in school. A child s upbringing is vital in determining what they
will grow up to be. It is hard enough to raise a child, but it is even harder when you have to watch
society as well. In today s age there are a lot of things that parents cannot shield their child from
seeing that used to be easy to hide. So much can be easily accessed through the touch of a finger.
Which is why children need more educationon what is happening in the world now. Schools are

Objectives Of The Operation Andreas
German Nazis developed the Operation Bernhard during the Second World War, as a continuation
of the so called Operation Andreas. The goal of both operations was to flood the UK with
counterfeit notes to provoke a shock effect in UK economy in both national and international scale.
The experience of Germany in the inter war period served as an example of the devastating effects
of hyperinflation in an economy. The plan focused on the printing of counterfeit notes with the
largest number in circulation, ВЈ5, ВЈ10, ВЈ20, and ВЈ50. It also contemplated the production of
US dollars but in a lesser extent because of technical difficulties.
Operation Bernhard started in 1942 when Himmler revived the operation and assigned the mission
to Bernhard KrГјger, an SS Major. KrГјger purpose was to improve Operation Andreas to make it
more efficient. He moved the production centre to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, near
Berlin, and employed Jewish prisoners to produce counterfeit British notes. Around 142 Jewish
were part of the operation, being isolated from the rest of the camp to avoid the spread of any
detail about the mission. This group of prisoners managed to reproduce almost perfectly the British
pounds, producing between ВЈ132 million and ВЈ300 million. Among the different ways of

themselves instead of giving it back to the Bank of England. However, German aircraft force was
not big enough to cover the necessities of the operation besides the war. As well, Germany had not

It has been influenced by many cultures throughout the world. For year s individuals and groups
of individuals had the need for protection, allowing them to live, work, and play in a stable

the years; initiated and developed after significant events, such as war and catastrophic events.
Personal security and the use of body guards dates back as far back as 1100 to 1300 B.C. Where
Egyptian pharaohs used Sherdens as their personal body guards. Sherdens had exceptional
fighting skills and were willing to changes sides for money. Perhaps the most famous Egyptian
known for using bodyguards was Pharaoh Ramses II, whose bodyguards fought viciously to
protect him in the Battle of Kadesh (Williams, 2002). Then in 27 B.C. the emperor of Rome,
Augustus, formed the Praetorian Guard. The Praetorian Guard protected the life and property of
the emperor and various Roman generals as well as keeping the peace. Praetorians were recruited
from veteran Italian Legionaries. This was an honored position and considered an elite status. Often
these guardsmen would often travel on campaigns with the Emperor. Over the years the Praetorian
Guard grew powerful and influenced the appointment of Roman emperors, for this the Praetorians
were disbanded 312 AD by Constantine (UNRV History, 2012). Security continued to evolve in

Similarities in James ThurberВґs The Dog that Bit People...
Mark Twain and James Thurber use conflict and figurative language to develop and enhance their
humorous writing. Although conflict can be humorous in itself, the way conflict is presented and
the author s tone used with the conflict can greatly increase the humorous effect. Mark Twain s
short story, A Toast to the Oldest Inhabitant: The Weather of New England, pokes fun at the
uncertainty of New England weather, while Thurber s short story, The Dog That Bit People,
explores the adventures of a unique, matchless dog. Both authors have a very relaxed, casual, and
sometimes satirical tone. The tone expressed by Twain and Thurber leads to very humorous moods
in these two short stories. Conflict, having the ability to control the... Show more content on

Along with Twain, Thurber adds hyperboleto his writing: Major Moberly fired at him once with his
service revolver near the Seneca Hotel in East Broad Street (526). While people have gotten very
angry at Muggs, no policeman has actually ever shot at him. Understatement, speaking of things as
if they were less important than they are, is another tool Twain and Thurber use to add humor. You
fix up for the drought . . . and ten to one you get drowned. You make up your mind that an
earthquake is due . . . and the first thing you know, you get struck by lightning. These are great
disappointments (Twain 523). Twain suggests that getting drowned or struck by lightning are just
disappointments, while in actuality, these events are catastrophic. Thurber writes, He just bumped
you, after Muggs had bitten Mrs. Detweiler (529). Being an example of understatement, getting bit
by a dog is actually much worse than just getting bumped. An author s diction can also aid in
creating a humorous short story. Mark Twain uses the words sumptuous variety, dazzling
uncertainty, peculiar, utterly disproportioned, and bewitching when describing the weather in New
England (521 523). These words expand upon the reader s understanding of the uniqueness of the
weather, the hyperboles, and the understatements. Similarly, Thurber s unique diction shows with

Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
The negative consequences of colonialism continue to be evident in the works of various authors
who address the issues that continue to plague the post colonial world. While the consequences of
colonialism vary throughout geographical regions and colonizers value systems, the social
constructs that were imposed upon the native people are quite similar. In particular, the effects of
racial classification continue to have internal and external consequences in a post colonial world.

Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez presents the foretold murder of Santiago Nasar, a Colombian of Arab
descent, who is accused of taking a woman s virginity (20). The narrator, who is a friend to Nasar
s murderers, attempts to point out all of Nasar s differences to the Colombian people. Santiago
Nasar has a Colombian mother and Arabic father with whom he feels a stronger connection because
they speak Arabic, but never around Nasar s mother (MГЎrquez 3). The fact that he must contain
his own identity because of his Colombian mother portrays the discomfort held by Colombians
towards the foreigners. His foreignness contributes to the accusation made towards him which
eventually led to his murder. The author hints that Angela Vicario is lying when she is
interrogated by her brothers for the name of the one who took her virginity, because she looked
for it in the shadows and found it at first sight among the many, many easily confused names
from this world and the other (25). She looks for a name from the dead and the living because
she knows the grave fate that would follow her decision. Angela seemed to feel compelled to
choose his name because she either believes that he did not deserve life or that his life would not
be considered valuable. Only his other Colombian friends of Arab descent actually warn him of
the murder threat and none of the other citizens of the town are able to reach out to him before it

and Nasar contributed to his death and the factors that stopped other people from attempting to

Essay about Theory and Client System Assessment
For this client system assessment, I have chosen a client I engaged with while at work, my client s
name is Keith. Keith is 34 years old and has had many unfortunate circumstances surrounding his
life, beginning with his birth. Keith s family system consists of himself, his mother and two step
siblings. Keith was unfortunately the product of a rape, witnessed repeated domestic abuse
situations with his mother s boyfriends and husbands, was abused himself and to this day, Keith
continues to suffer in all domains: emotionally, mentally and physically. I will assess Keith s family
system as well as Keith as an individual utilizing Erikson s Psychological Stages of Development,
Bowman s Family System Theory and Marcia s Identity Status Model.... Show more content on

Keith s mother grew up poor and without much appropriate parental guidance, she was abused
growing up and witnessed domestic violence in her home. Keith s mother was uneducated as
education was not valued in her home and always held menial, low paying jobs. Once Keith was
born, his mother was unable to provide the adequate basic necessities for herself and Keith.
Feeling overwhelmed and burdened by her decision, Keith was pushed aside as his mother chose a
path of substance abuse and a variety of unsavory men.
Howe (2010) states The majority of parents who maltreat their children have problems metalizing
their children s psychological condition. Their own histories tend to be ones of rejection, abuse,
neglect, trauma and loss. Never having been fully recognized as an independent, complex
psychological being themselves, they have problems relating to their children as complex, separate
psychological beings (pg. 336). Unfortunately during this stage of development, Keith was not
given the appropriate amount of love, affection, care and maternal bonding time, which his mother
was emotionally unable to provide due to her traumatized state. Keith states his mother did not
seek professional help after being raped and was forced to deal with it all on her own; she
constantly sought approval from abusive men, likely repeating the cycle from her childhood, but
was not bonded with Keith as a

Kwanzaa Book Review
Saint (1997) wrote a book to introduce children to the significance of the African American
holiday of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is a non religious cultural holiday based upon the ancient customs
of Africa. The holiday was created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga and is the first original
African American holiday dedicated to African culture and spirituality (Saint, 1997). Additionally,
the holiday is a time where African Americans honor the traditions of their African ancestors.
According to Walter (1996), Dr. Karenga created the holiday based on the harvest festivals of
several African cultures. Harvest celebrations were traditional throughout Africa and were a time
where people gave thanks for the first fruits of their harvest (Walter, 1996).... Show more content on

Furthermore, Saint (1997) used visual imagery to convey a message and assist the reader in
consciously and unconsciously relating the certain colors used in the book to the principles of
Kwanzaa and thus, later fostering a sense of pride whenever the colors are seen. For example,
Saint (1997) used the colors red, black, and green throughout the book to help children identify
these colors as symbols of the Holiday. Therefore, when the child later sees the colors they will
automatically relate the colors to the holiday, which will in turn assist the child in remembering
the pride instilling principles expressed by the holiday. Saint (1997) also explained in detail the
significance of Kwanzaa as well as the importance and meaning of its seven principles. Also, in
order to clarify the meaning of the principles, Saint (1997) explained the principles in writing as
well as with a corresponding picture. This in turn, provided the child with a visual representation to
identify with the written explanation. Additionally, Saint (1997) used phonetic spelling in addition
to the standard spelling in order to help the reader pronounce the African principles correctly.
Overall, Saint (1997) did an excellent job of not only introducing African Americanchildren to their
African culture, but also attempting to instill a sense of cultural pride and

Comparing The Catholic Pilgrimage To St Peter s Basilica
Introduction:
Good morning everyone.
Today I want to talk to you about pilgrimage. I want to focus on two pilgrimages in particular; the
Hindu pilgrimage to the Indian city of Varanasi, and the Catholic pilgrimage to St Peter s Basilica
in Rome.
To quote Steve Branmn and Jim Rawls, A pilgrimageis a journey inward as well as outward.
Pilgrims seek to strengthen and renew their faith through travel.
Therefore today I want to try and prove that the religious significance of a pilgrimage to St Peter s
Basilica and Varanasi are similar, as both serve the purpose of renewing faith through travel, and
also educating pilgrims on the history of their religion.
Body 1:
Both the Hindu pilgrimage to Varanasi, and the Catholic pilgrimage to... Show more content on

The Basilica features many instances of an upside down cross. This represents St Peter s
crucifixion upside down, he was crucified like this because he did not want to defame Jesus by
dying in the same way he did.
Another more prominent feature of the Basilica; the alter and the dome that sits above it represent
the holy trinity. The holy spirit being the dove that sits on the alter, the son being the cross that sits
on top of the alter, and the father being the top most part of the dome.
Symbolism is also prominent in the Hindu pilgrimage to Varanasi. Temples located in the city are
each devoted to a god, or an aspect of Hinduism.
As I mentioned earlier, the The Kasha Vishwanath temple dedicated to Shiva. The Bharat Mata
temple is dedicated to mother India.
The Durga Mata Temple was built in the 18th century for the Hindu Goddess Durga.
The two pilgrimages can be linked through their symbolism. Each pilgrimage includes symbolic
monuments that represent various aspects of their religion.
These symbols serve to provide pilgrims with knowledge of the tradition and some aspects of the
history regarding their

Emperor Penguin Cycle
Emperor Penguin
Introduction:
The Emperor Penguin, also scientifically known as Aptenodytes forsteri, is the tallest and heaviest
of all penguin species. The Emperor Penguin is native to Antarctica and is near threatened with a
stable population. If living in the wild, it generally has a lifespan of around 20 years, but an
individual can reach 50 years of age. The Emperor penguin reproduces sexually, meaning two
parents are required during the reproduction process. Emperor penguins reach sexual maturity at the
age of 3.
Reproductive parts:
Unlike humans and many other animals, female Emperor Penguins do not have a vagina and the
males do not have a penis. The main male reproductive parts are the testis, ureter, vas deferens
and cloaca. The testis grow in size during mating season to produce more sperm. The sperm then
travels through the ureter and a tube called the vas deferens. This then leads to the cloaca where
the sperm is stored. The cloaca is also an opening of the digestive, reproductive and urinary tract.
The main female reproductive parts include the ovaries, where the eggs are produced, the oviduct
which is where the egg travels through, a uterus, ureter and a cloaca which leads to the ovaries.

songs and performing courtship behaviour (head bowing, head swinging and walking in an
impressive manner). Once a female has found her mate they will stand facing each other and lift

Analysis Of Sacrifice In Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
Sometimes in life, it takes a tragic scenario for us to learn a lesson. In the play Cyrano de
Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, the plot tells of a man named Cyrano who has a large nose and is
unable to reveal his love to a woman named Roxane, so he poses under the name of a handsome
man named Christian to win Roxane s love. The two use what they lack from each other to
eventually win her love, but the deaths of both Christian and Cyrano in the end reveal that if one
loves and cares about someone, then one should sacrifice one s own needs for them.
The first death we witness in the play is Christian s when he is in battle and readers can learn that
one must come to their own truths before one dies. There Roxanne risks her life to come see

Roxanne and Christian. Cyrano decides to lie to Christian as he had his last breath of life and told

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Domestic Abuse
Susan Cisneros
English 1301
Lacina Taylor
2 December 2014
Stop The Abuse Underreported and underestimated, domestic abuse rips families apart every single
day. Domestic violence comes in mainly five different forms, physical, sexual, psychological,
emotional, and economic. This violence ruins families, demoralizes the victims, and the public
downplays the household terrorism that goes on every day. Generally thought of as taboo, the
public belittles and humorizes domestic abuse as a way to deal with it, that avoidance must come
to an end. The five forms of domestic violence are economic, emotional, physical, psychological
and sexual. The most commonly known physical violence occurs when a partner or parent inflicts
injury such as hitting, stabbing, and shoving. Physical violence also takes place when food or
fluids, medical care and other sources that maintain health get withheld. The most commonly
recognized form of sexual violence is rape, or non consensual sexual intercourse. Sexual and
physical violence oftentimes both wind up reported by the same victim. Some individuals actively
engage in sexually abusive lifestyles, bondage, dominance, sadism and masochism, or BDSM is a
wildly growing underground culture in America. It focuses on dehumanizing the submissive
partner and empowering the dominant one. Certain pop culture books and films such as Fifty

UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Nursing as a profession is based on concrete (scientific, philosophical,
behavioral, social, and humanities among others), concepts and theories by past and current nursing
theorists. These theorists have helped shape the profession from 19th century till date. New
theories are emerging due to advance in health care, as off shoot of previous theories and also as

(2011), Jean Watson s theoretical framework lies in carative factors, transpersonal caring
relationship, and caring moment. This implies basically that the core of nursing is in caring and
other qualities of nursing as a profession builds on it. Her assumptions of caring affirms that in
all we do to assist a client, caring is the most important. She claimed that without caring, curing
cannot effectively occur. Gonzalo (2011), refers to caring as being more healthogenic than
curing because it integrates biophysical knowledge with knowledge of human behavior to
generate or promote health and to provide ministrations to those who are ill. He also concluded
in his review of Jean Watson s work that the science of caring is complementary to the science of
curing . MSU s department of nursing associates with Jean Watson s human caring theory as
pointed out in the holistic health aspect of its theoretical constructs. This section strongly reflect
the ideas of Jean Watson. Pros of the theory* It presents distinct difference between nursing and
other health care professions * It is logical and easy to apply to various practice situations * It
presents nurses with a good view at nursing Cons of the theory * Caring alone isn t enough as the
health care system now incorporates technology in client s care. Therefore, with the caring model
and its processes, nurses need to find a blend where technology has its place. Madeleine Leininger s

Analysis of Real Altruism Essay
Helping someone in need or getting the feeling of wanting to help someone in need is something
that happens in everyone s life. It is a common thought that animals help each other expecting to
gain something in return. But in some cases, helping is not linked to immediate returning benefits
or these are inexistent. This type of behavior has caught the attention of psychologists interested in
understanding the ideas and thoughts behind it. Can this be considered real altruism? Psychologists
have been studying this issue suggesting different ideas to explain altruistic behavior. This essay
will talk about altruism and some of the real ideas over the thinking that altruistic behavior comes
from real altruistic ideas, helping with the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Evolutionary psychologists like Rushton (1991) argue how altruism is part of evolution that
originates from genetic purposes. Most studies show that people would rather help a relative or
a friend that they have known for a long time instead of someone they are not related or don t
have a connection too. It is understandable that helping a relative or someone we have known for
a while could be a normal thing and bring us benefit in some way, but it is hard to explain when
people and animals show compassion for complete strangers. This apparent altruistic behavior
suggests that real altruism does exist. To study this opinion some tried to look at the emotions and
cognitive things that were happening to the person before they were helping this person. Piliavin,
1981, as cited in Hogg and Vaughan, 2008, suggested that the act of not helping someone in need
could result in costing the people around them. These could be either an emphatic or of a personal
nature. That is, the person helping someone may feel bad if choosing not to help someone. They
did a study on three cognitive areas a person standing there goes through before knowing or
thinking what the outcome may be from helping that person. First the person suffers from
physiological arousal, which means to feel distressful or uncomfortable in the troubles of that
person. Secondly, the person around this person needs to deal with this feeling. As explained by
Vaughan and Hogg, this feeling alone

This emphasises how Macbeth s ambition itself may be a horse that can be uncontrollable and
has a mind of its own. The horse may refers to Macbeth s journey, the finish of which is at killing
Duncan, and Macbeth s conscience lies in the way of completing the journey. A horse can also
be easily understood by the audience. Ambition may also be pride, which is condemned in the
Bible: the pride of man shall bring him low and pride goeth before destruction, and a high mind
before the fall. . This shows how Macbeth is continuing to think about God as he feels his
ambitions may be too high and his downfall, which agrees with the Bible. Killing Duncan will

Pros And Cons Of Public Transportation
I m sure everyone, at least once in their life, has found themselves in a situation, deciding on
whether they should drive or opt to take a public transit. Like many other subjects, there has been
and most likely always will be long lived debates over which method of transportation is truly the
best choice. Naturally, most people are constantly looking for the smartest and cheapest option as
well as the most popular option, but that isn t always the easiest decision. Some factors such as cost,
convenience, impact on the environment, safety can weigh in on the choice between the driving or
public transit. I wantto present an argument both for and against each option of transportation for
others to take into consideration for their choices. In the factual sense of this debate, the better
choice leans more obviously towards the public transit, but for some people, like myself, the vote
of driving your own car may present itself as the most popular choice for many of its own reasons.
So, this brings me to my simple question: which do you prefer taking the busor driving yourself?
For those of you who choose public transit as their preferred method of transportation, the pros and
cons may seem like an endless mountain to sort through. Let s start with the pros.
Toner 2
Cost is obviously one of the biggest reasons people take the bus because the expenses that can
build up due to insurance, repairs, and other maintenance costs are not the passenger s
responsibility. Stress may seem to melt away at the fact that while on a bus you aren t worried
about being the one driving through traffic jams, as well as at the fact that you can freely and safely
occupy yourself with things such as reading, texting, watching the passing scenery, or even sleeping
until you reach your destination. Another pro could be that, assuming you re not socially awkward,
you would most definitely meet some interesting characters riding along with you and may even be
invited into some fun conversations.
On the other hand, you may very well be that socially awkward person who is uncomfortable when
people invade your personal bubble uninvited. Therefore, interaction with other human beings in
such a confined space could also be deemed a con

Katsu Kokichi’S Autobiography, “Musui’S Story,”
Documents
Katsu Kokichi s autobiography, Musui s Story, documents the life of a samurai in Japan s late
Tokugawa period who adopted the name Musui in his retirement. Katsu is something of a black
sheep within his family, being largely uneducated and deemed unfit for the bureaucratic office s
samurai of his standing were expected to hold. As such, he typifies in many ways the lower ronin,
or masterless samurai, many of whom famously led roaming, directionless lives and wreaked havoc
among the urban poor and merchant classes. The novel addresses the decaying power of samurai
throughout the Tokugawa period and depicts their struggle to find purpose. Throughout the story,
Katsu is impacted by three interconnected systems of power that impact his life... Show more

However, the challenges of this economic power come through forms of temptations that
plagued Japanese men at the time. These include drinking, smoking, gambling, and prostitution.
For instance, during his youth, Katsu was [tricked] into going with [Karoku] to the pleasure
quarters in the Yoshiwara. [He] enjoyed himself immensely and after that went every night.
[He] used up all his money (Musui 44). In this section, Katsu exhibits a lack of self control over
his money. His behavior is representative of many low level samurai throughout Tokugawa Japan.
These irresponsible economic decisions combine with pre existing financial disparity to place
samurai largely in debt. Similarly, these districts were often seen as an escape for samurai and
members of the lower class. Just before Katsu has fled home for the second time, he says To take
my mind off my woes, I went to the Yoshiwara (Musui 60). Many samurai were disheartened by
the fact they were indebted to merchants and had no true purpose in life. As an escape, they fled to
districts like the Yoshiwara. Ultimately, economic power is created by a flourishing economy and is
challenged by the temptations of man.
Domestic power comes from family lineage and is used to determine social status/class. The
Japanese class system prohibits individuals from moving between classes to maintain the power of
the Daimyo and Shogun. Moreover, domestic power resides in the level of respect granted to

Early Prenatal And Birthing Care Essay
Mary Breckinridge: Pioneering Rural Prenatal and Birthing Care
Kescia L. Belbin
MCPHS University
Mary Breckinridge: Pioneering Rural Prenatal and Birthing Care During the early 1900 s, the
healthcare system for families in rural areas was virtually nonexistent. Mary Breckinridge noticed
a need for more healthcare access in these areas, which led her to create the Frontier Nursing
Service (FNS). Through her work, Breckinridge was able to provide thousands of families with the
healthcare that they needed, while also bringing an entirely new field of study to the United States.
What led her to believe the United States needed a change? What impact did her work have on the
United States, and is it still relevant today? We will be looking at the significant impact that Mary
Breckinridge made to the field of nursing and to the overall healthcare system of the United
States. Mary Breckinridge received her degree in nursing from St. Luke s Hospital School of
Nursing in 1910. She proceeded to teach French and hygiene at a women s school, until tragedy

Identifying and analyzing global integrated marketing campaigns
Abstract
Integrated marketing is a strategy regarding the application of consistent brand messaging across
myriad marketing channels. It came about after businesses realized that they needed to offer their
customers more than the regular method of advertising. Integrated communication is mainly focused
on the consumer rather than the needs of an organization. It has improved the performance of many
businesses in various markets and their brands. This paper seeks to identify the global integrated
marketing campaigns and analyze them with the use of case studies in the television and print
media.
Introduction
In order for a business to create awareness of its products and convince people to buy them, it
needs to do a promotion of the product. This involves communication. The goal of promotion is
create awareness to consumers of a certain product in the market. Secondly, to persuade customers
to choose their product compared to rival products. Lastly, promotion aims to remind the customers
on the importance of buying the product. There are five main types of promotions:
Advertising
Personal selling
Sales promotion
Direct marketing
Public relations
The concept of integrated marketing communication (IMC) emerged in the late twentieth century.
This bore out of a realization by marketers that there was a need for businesses to offer more than
advertisements to their

Mini Corporate Social Responsibility Essay
Current Efforts for Social Responsibility
Activision Blizzard is an industry leader for producing and designing video games. They have
annual revenues of 4 billion, annual income of 2.2 billion and total assets of 5.5 billion. Activision,
as they are commonly known, have great customer support and even better technical support,
despite having to deal with one of the most impatient and finicky customer bases, the gamer.
So how do they stack up in social responsibility?
As a video game company Activision does not have the usual responsibilities that other companies
have. Petrol companies and other mining/energy companies have a responsibility to the public to
not do unnecessary harm while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Activision as a video game producing company has a great wealth of resources and knowledge
for Wise Web Kids to use in making its video games. This way the kids will be more likely to
play the games since they will have been made by a major video game publisher instead of an
internet safety organization. The goal of getting kids to pay attention to lessons about fraud,
bullying, and even sexting is achieved with Activision s help as a game developing company and
all of its branches that work on game design.
Due to the partnership with Wise Web Kids, Activision puts a language filter in all of its games,
and gives its games a fair rating. The rating is so that parents are aware of what kind of game they
are buying for their children and Activision makes sure that no game is sold without warning that
content may not be appropriate for individuals under a certain age limit. The language filter in their
online games ensures that even in the online community parents can protect their children from
playing with people who would use adult language in some of the more kid friendly games.
Analysis of Current Social Responsibility
Activision is doing a great job performing its role as far as social responsibility goes. They are
extremely aware of what their video games are doing to our society and how they are effecting
America s youth. Due to this, they want to continue to do more with regards to education and
safety. The importance of

Chris Hondros Research Paper
Last month, we crossed the 4th anniversary of the death of a man named Chris Hondros. Chris,
an avid photojournalist, was killed on an assignment in Libya on April 20th, 2011. Chris
Hondros was a man of many talents. Not only did he leave a legacy of photography, but he liked
to wear tweed, listen to classical music, and play chess. Anybody who knew him would also tell
you that he was an engaging storyteller. Todd Heisler, a friend and fellow journalist, in an article
for the New York Times wrote, Friends came and went, but the discussion was always rich and
lively. That s what I miss the most about him. Chris grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He
pursued an education at North Carolina State, and earned his masters in photojournalism at Ohio
University. He moved to New York to carry out his dream of international reporting. He became

Spacecraft Will Reach Pluto in July, Revealing Last Face in Solar System by Nadia Drake July
2015: National Geographic The author of this article, Nadia Drake, is a science journalist and
has published many articles in other science journals. She writes a blog called No Place Like

on the internet, it is important to make sure the website is trusted. Drake can be seen as

It would have been helpful if Drake had explained to the reader why Pluto is not called a planet
anymore. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) gave a new definition of the word
planet. Pluto, as we know it, didn t fit the definition of planet anymore. Both planets and dwarf
planets must orbit the sun and be massive enough for their gravity to have pulled them into
spherical or nearly spherical shapes. Pluto has not cleared away many chunks of icy and rocky
debris from their orbital vicinities. (Britannica pg. 76). The author could also have included that
what we know about Pluto s size is because of an unmanned space probe that was launched in
2006. This is the same year that Pluto was redefined. The temperature of Pluto is more accurate.
We know that it is far away from the sun and therefore, Pluto must be cold. Because it is the
farthest planet from Earth, we don t know much about Pluto. Its distance from Earth also makes
taking images really hard. This same distance even makes using a telescope difficult. The New
Horizons spacecraft will be sent to Pluto on July 14, 2015. It will only fly as close as 8,000 miles
away. Investigators hope to learn more about the surface of Pluto and Charon during this mission

Spartan Women Vs Athenian Women Essay
Throughout the time and history most societies have deemed that men are superior to women. One
era in which this train of thought was prevalent was Ancient Greece. Although the Greeks valued
freedom and participation in society, that concept did not extend to women. However, the treatment
of women varied greatly between the two city states: Athens and Sparta. Women in Sparta had more
rights, freedom, and equality with men than their counterparts in Athens. In this paper, I will
analyze and compare roles, rights, and freedom of Athenians and Spartans in Ancient Greece. And I
will discuss their positions in society, main obligations, and the way they were treated by men. I
will start with analyzing Spartan women, where I will bring arguments... Show more content on

Comparing women from both city states, I pointed out that roles of women are unalike because
women in Sparta had more rights such as economic power, education, land property, and divorce.
Little to none of these rights was given to Athenian women. However, the role of reproduction was
still the main one for both Spartan and Athenians women. Women needed to do everything
possible to produce as many children and have them healthy as possible. Having said this,
Spartans would take intense precautions in producing a perfectly healthy baby. For example, they
had to have a very active life by having strengths and knowledge in fitness and combat. Mothers
would even have servants in their household to do the majority of the domestic work, so that they
can focus on combat to prepare their male boys for when they join the military. Spartan women
weren t known for their domestic work, as they were expected to be warriors and guard the family s
property when the husband is not present. Thus, Spartan women tended to live lives with more
violence than the average Athenian women. Spartans were getting married later than Athenians, at

Through The Tunnel Symbolism
In Through the Tunnel, the author, Doris Lessing, writes about a vacation of a widow and her son
named Jerry. Lessing turns Jerry s and his mother s relaxing vacation into a serious one with the
tools of symbolism to unveil the hidden message of the rocky bay and the tunnel, vivid imagery of
the tunnel, as well as similes and personification regarding Jerry s attitude towards the adventure;
moreover, the author creates an overall tone of determination and wonder to help construct the well
known theme of never giving up.
It is safe to assume the rocky bay and the tunnel both symbolize very important aspects in this short
story. The rocky bay could be said to symbolize a turning point in Jerry s life. In the first paragraph,
Jerry looked down at a wild and rocky bay, and then over the crowded beach he knew ... Show more

After Jerry had watched the older boys go through the tunnel and leave the bay, he was left alone
again. He then dived back in among the fanged and angry boulders, (3). This personification
emphasizes a negative connotation that shows how frustrated Jerry is at this point in his
adventure. He felt like he boys were leaving to get away from him, (3), which only further
supports the notion that he feels alone and has no clue what to do. However, after he decides to
get goggles, he ran right back and dived into the bay once more. While he was negative towards
the whole ordeal before, the following simile reveals a different tone: Now, he could see. It was
as if he had eyes of a different kind, fish eyes that showed everything clear and delicate and
wavering in the bright water, (3). The fact that he is now describing things as clear and delicate
shows a more positive connotation which can suggest that Jerry was not as frustrated after that. He
felt as if he got some of his composure and control back and is ready to continue on his

Delivery Drones Analysis
In the recent years, recreational and delivery drones have increased, both in consumer appeal as
their technology has improved. With features such as advanced image capturing capabilities and
easy to learn control, the consumer market for drones is increasing day by day.. Another aspect of
drones becoming popular is their potential to be used for package deliveries. Companies like
Amazon are pioneers in the use of drones to deliver their packages to customers which could lessen
the deliverytime to hours if not less. Roger Berkowitz (2014) introduces his paper, Drones and the

Equipped with razor sharp propeller and the ability to fly thousands of feet above the ground,
drones have caused problems in the past and still are a risk to the general health of the public.
Authors Rocci Luppicini and Arthur So write that safety (21.24%) and law and regulation
(25.66%) are the most frequently cited concerns in connection with commercial drone use. Once
drones create the sense that lives are threatened when they are operating within a society, the
immediate concern is drone safety (p. 111). Although not the biggest concern, safety is still
thought to be one of the bigger problems in regards to drones and it is a top priority that this
issue is resolved. Firstly, it is not the case that drones are just death traps flying over our heads
and it is certainly not the case that they are just going to fall on our heads; however, there are
still many possible scenarios where drones can jeopardize our safety. Companies like DJI and
GoPro are constantly working on making their drones better and safer but there is still room for
human error and drones, like with all machines, can never be a hundred percent safe. One concern
with drone safety is that they often cause a nuisance for aircrafts and air traffic controllers when
the people operating the drones fly them too high. There have been several instances where plane
pilots have had to avoid these small yet

The texts to be examined in this assignment are all from the Fantasy Fiction Genre and will cover
Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 as these are both relevant to those covered within lectures. We will
begin with Key Stage 2 and The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien looking for examples as to why this
would be considered Key Stage Two. The same process will be followed with The Silmarillionby
the same author for Key Stage 3. Once the key stages have been confirmed for each piece of
literature we can then begin to compare the texts and determine what elements of each make them
unsuitable for classification into alternative key stages. The results of such a comparison may show
some unexpected and interesting results when taking the series as a whole and... Show more content

It is now listed as Key Stage 2 and for the purposes of this assignment we shall be examining the
piece with this level in mind. It is essentially a simple story of a Hobbit who reluctantly
undertakes a great adventure with a band of dwarves and a wizard to assist in the regaining of
treasure lost to a dragon in times gone by. However, the trials faced during this journey and it s
descriptive manner mean that the book is far from simple at times and it would be fair to
assume that this would place it at the higher end of Key Stage 2 readership, perhaps aged 10 to
11 as it is commonly accepted that children read books typically written approximately 2 years
older than their own age. Using Christopher Booker s theory of The Seven Basic Plots and taking
each of the seven individually we see many examples of Overcoming the monster including The
Call and Initial success with lines such as Bilbo Baggins was standing at his door after

Clinton Church Meeting Essay
The 152nd Annual Conference of the Grand Ole North Carolina Conference convened at one of the
Conference s historical churches, Clinton Chapel AME Zion in New Bern, NC. Reverend Dr. M.
Luther Hill, its gifted pastor, and his great congregation were very gracious hosts and made
everyone feel welcomed. They opened their doors on Sunday and ministers, adorned in their
priestly, white robes, marched in to open this great Conference in High Church Methodist fashion.
The service, filled with high spiritual elements intertwining the liturgical elements, connected our
hearts to the ancient tradition of the Anglican Church; however, with an African American twist.

wheat in a full field, Rev. Pridgen based his sermon, Lazarus Ain t the Only One, on John 12:9 10.
In his lyrical, smooth, southern drawl voice, he described what happened to Lazarus in the chosen

William Paley s Argument From Design
Argument from Design In the Argument from Design article by William Paley, he begins the
argument by describing the mechanisms of a watch. These parts all combine in a certain way to
make the watch work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch
would not do anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch
in the mind. He would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was
not brought into existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items
together. There is the idea of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver.
Therefore, there must be some sort of creator of the watch, even though the creator is unknown.
This same concept could be applied to the universe, stating that there must be a creator that made
these elaborate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if people were unaware of the person who made the watch, ignorance is not an excuse for
not giving credit to the artist. An objection to his argument is that some of the parts seem to have
no function, so they were not designed. Paley states there may be a function of these parts that
we are unable to see or understand. The design is evident from examining the rest of the watch.
The machine does not have to be perfect in order to understand the artist s design of the
mechanism. For example, a blueprint of a machine can show you the idea and purpose of the final
results, even though all the parts on the blueprint are not specifically described on why it exists.
The design could not be a fault of chance due to its complexity. The observer of the watch cannot
be driven out of his conclusion, even though he may know

How Did Alfred The Great Influence Society
The middle ages was a period of great territorial and social instability throughout Europe. After the
fall of Rome, the Byzantine Empire gained control in the east, while in the west however, no single
empire arose from Rome s ashes (citation). During the 800s or near the end of the early medieval
ages, Christians in southern England were in constant battle with the Danes who controlled
northern Europe. These groups of seven kingdoms in southern England were known as the Anglo
Saxons. Among the leaders of the seven Anglo Saxon kingdoms who were threatened by the Danes
march toward the south was Alfred the Great, Ruler of the small kingdom of Wessex. After uniting
the Anglo Saxon Kingdoms (Southern England) and defeating then Danes in the battle of

Alfred the Great was born in Wantage, United Kingdom sometime in 849 AD. As the 4th and
youngest son of his father, Г†thelwulf of Wessex, Alfred was never expected to succeed to the
throne of Wessex, but after his brother Aethelred s death in 871 he became King of Wessex. As
king he united seven Anglo Saxon kingdoms and began his military campaign against the ever
closing threat, the Vikings. One of Alfred s greatest accomplishments was his ability to lead his
military into battle and protect his people by repelling Viking raids on the Anglo Saxon kingdoms.
Alfred accomplished this by the formation of a standing army whose main purpose was to provide
Wessex with a military group that was mobile enough to quickly intercept Viking raiders and
prevent raids from threatening Wessex civilians (Reuter 220). Although these small military groups
may not have been as robust as a regular army, they were instrumental in the

Bosnia was still trying to create a multiethnic state, but the political institutions already supported
ethnic partition in the government. As asserted by McMahon and Western, Although Bosnia
professes to seek the creation of a unified multi ethnic state, its political institutions support ethnic

diverse on all levels, but they were still trying to create a diverse society at the same time. Ethnic
partition in the government was also supported by the nationalist parties in Bosnia. As advocated
by Black, The elections were held without violence, but the results were a victory for the nationalist
parties who wanted to maintain the ethnic partition of the country. The result of the election was a
new three person presidency with each president from a different ethnic group. The nationalist
parties saw this as a victory because they supported ethnic partition in the government. Although
people in Bosnia supported a diverse government, the country was still broken. Dahlman and

Reverend Hale is Not Guilty
There are usually at least a few instances when a person gets wrongfully accused of something
they did not do, whether it would be taking the last cookie out of the jar, picking their nose, or
even something to the extremity of taking someone s life. A tragic, real life example of this is
when Michael Morton got sentenced to life in prison when he was falsely accused of murdering
his wife. Twenty five years later, he was eventually exonerated from prison by the use of DNA
evidence. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible, while the witch trials were underway, situations like
this were common occurrences. The play which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, was
centered around many innocent people getting framed for witchcraft by licentious people who
wanted to place blame on them due to jealousy or hatred for the sole purpose of revenge. The
rumors quickly spreading through the town caused hysteria, defined by people behaving in an
uncontrolled way due to fear or anger, eventually leading to nineteen righteous people being
hung. Reverend Hale, a supposed expert on witchcraft was one of the main people to blame for
the witch trials according to the vast majority of readers. Despite that, his probity becomes clearer
and clearer when scrutinizing the text for its true meaning. After all, he was not responsible for the
spread of the rumors about witchcraft, he began to realize the flaws in the Salem witch trials as the
story progressed, and he tried to compel everyone condemned to death

  • 2. My Favorite Cartoon Essay Oh how I remember the days where I would wake up at 8am to watch my favorite cartoon shows. I would eat my breakfast in front of the tv and watch the new episodes that would air. Whether it be the classics like Tom and Jerry or Looney Tunes, or some new shows like Foster s Home for Imaginary friends or the PowerPuff Girls. Watching these cartoons brought me solace and joy. It would bring me to its world of wonder and spectre. To this day, these shows have taught me many values and morals that I follow and helped shape me into a better person. It made me think that I would like to give that same feeling to another person. In that moment, I decide that I wanted to do the same thing and create cartoon shows that will invoke the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once they saw the picture, they stood there speechless just looking at me and the drawing. When they finally said something. They said that it was meh. I was once again devastated by what they had said. This time I was sure that I had gotten them to change their minds. I actually thought that this would be the one to shut them down. So, I went back to the drawing boards and wondered about what it was that I had messed up on. I sat there looking down at the drawing, when I noticed that it looked like it had been rushed. It was covered with curved and out of sync lines. The eraser marks made the picture look all dark and muddy with all of the smudges that they had left. I finally realized what was so wrong with my draws. I had rushed all of them. At this point, I didn t know what to do. I had hit a roadblock with nowhere to turn. I felt like my dreams were over and that I would never be able to animate my ideas. The next couple of months I spent my time on other things as I looked for a new pasion. But, none could fill the emptiness of drawing. The joys of sending your ideas down the pencil expressway to its stop at paperway station. It felt amazing and nothing could replace that feeling for me. So, I thought that I would give it another go and this time I would take my time. Once again I was back at it, only this time I would be rolling down a snail s pace and drawing with ease. After every correction, I would wipe off the eraser ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for career ready hires. Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration. • 4. Changes in America s Agriculture From 1865-1900 Essay Through the period of 1865 1900, America s agriculture underwent a series of changes .Changes that were a product of influential role that technology, government policy and economic conditions played. To extend on this idea, changes included the increase on exported goods, do the availability of products as well as the improved traveling system of rail roads. In the primate stages of these developing changes, farmers were able to benefit from the product, yet as time passed by, dissatisfaction grew within them. They no longer benefited from the changes (economy went bad), and therefore they no longer supported railroads. Moreover they were discontented with the approach that the government had taken towards the situation. After the civil... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, the document also helps visualize the linking of the regions in which national markets emerged, as well urbanization and industry expansion. To extend on this idea, immigration grew alongside industry expansion. For more land became accessible for sale, which was an advantage to those whom jobs (like those building railroads or working in companies near them) called for them to live near. Although the most convenient way to transport goods was using the railroad, it also worsened the economic hardship that farmers had, for the prices that they had to pay to export their goods, were quite elevated. The rates as well as the lack of support from the government angered the farmers, and lead them to form farmer alliances and the Grange, led by Oliver Hudson Kelly. Most farmers, such as the prairie farmer in document C, sought state regulation on railroad freight rates and pleaded the government consider making new law. As a response to this, government passed the granger laws in Illinois, which protected farmers from being abused or discriminated through the high tariffs on exporting their goods. • 5. The Destruction of Yellow Fever A disease that has yet to be conquered (Barrett Higgs, 2007). Such a quaint, simplistic phrase that yet effectively describes the disease commonly known today as yellow fever. Over the course of history, the yellow fever virus (YFV) has decimated populations in various regions all across the globe. While the overall gross impact of yellow feverhas declined over the years, the virus still poses a significant threat present day, especially to those in the developing world. The World Health Organization currently estimates that approximately 200,000 cases of yellow fever occur around the world each year, resulting in 30,000 fatalities (Bundschuh et al, 2013). Presently, yellow fever remains without a legitimate cure, and the best defence against the virus lies with preventative action. WHO identifies its three major yellow fever prevention strategies as vaccination, mosquito control, and epidemic response (WHO Yellow Fever Fact Sheet, 2014). This being said, through the combined efforts of scientists, medical workers, governments, and international agencies alike, the yellow fever virus has been confined to endemic areas throughout Africa and Latin America (Barrett Higgs, 2007, p.209). With regards to the epidemiological nature of yellow fever, geographic factors and influences clearly play a significant role. Environments, both physical and human (ie. social), directly correlate to how the virus behaves, adapts, and survives. Through the analysis its biology, its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. High Cost Of Replacement Windows Essay How to Beat the High Cost of Replacement Windows Do you have old windows that need replacement? Is your contractor quoting a very high price to replace your window? If you are one of those who is facing this problem, you will be happy to know that hurricane windows produce as much energy saving as the full replacement windows and they cost less than 30 percent of the price. Also, they reduce the long term maintenance need of your house. Many of the technologies used in window replacements, such as low emissivity glass that prevent heat from entering and escaping from the house and weatherproof gasket to stop drafts, are a standard in modern impact resistant windows. These factory made impact windows also come with a screen and two panes that can be easily positioned up or down, depending on your requirement. However, these three components operate only on two channels. Rather than sliding the components up and down, you can easily remove the screen from the channel, then rearrange the panes and reinstall them. Rearranging the panes will take a little more effort when the season changes, but it makes the window thinner and therefore less noticeable. Wood Exterior Storms These are single pane windows that come with a wooden frame that can be painted to match the decor of your room. These windows normally hang from hooks and are mounted on the window trim that look nearly invisible. When placing an order for these windows, it is a good idea to order a few screens made in the same fashion so you can swap them onto a few windows seasonally to allow light and fresh air to enter your home. Interior Storms Some households prefer these windows because the cover the existing windows from inside. This helps in maintaining the antique look of your old house. • 8. Existence Of Ghost Research Paper The Existence of Ghosts In folklore, mythology, and modern media such as literary fiction, a ghost is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear, invisible form or other manifestation, to the living. (Wikipedia). The existence of ghosts has always been an alerting and spooky, debatable motion that humans are curious of. There have been countless amounts of evidence gathered by paranormal investigators or ghost hunters. From videos of moving objects, recordings of voices from spirits through EVP, and even pictures of ghosts themselves. All of which the world sees as undeniable or fraudulent evidence based on one s own self belief. However, with numerous accounts of documentation from not only paranormal investigators, but actual people from across the world, it s almost impossible to not believe that such phenomenon exist on earth, and those who do not are just terrified to accept it. To determining whether or not the existences of ghosts are true, there are many resources we use that can gather massive information. To investigate if environmental fluctuations actually occur in haunted locations, a television production company called Global Media Productions, Los Angeles, enlisted the help of several technologies. • 9. The World Consists Of The Different Types Of People The world consists of the different types of people in the particular country. The statement Aboriginal people was new to me because I am from another nation where such kind of individuals does not exist. I had not taken any subject in my country related to the issues that are existing in another country such as in America, Canada etc. Canada is the first place where I knew about aboriginal people. The following paragraphs will show about the situations faced by the aboriginal people in the past and present day. I got the information about this from the class lecture notes and from watching the videos related to the indigenous population. It is quite surprising that the condition of aboriginals was really worst in Canada. The biggest problem is that the people are suffering from the culture loss. • 15. Objectives Of The Operation Andreas German Nazis developed the Operation Bernhard during the Second World War, as a continuation of the so called Operation Andreas. The goal of both operations was to flood the UK with counterfeit notes to provoke a shock effect in UK economy in both national and international scale. The experience of Germany in the inter war period served as an example of the devastating effects of hyperinflation in an economy. The plan focused on the printing of counterfeit notes with the largest number in circulation, ВЈ5, ВЈ10, ВЈ20, and ВЈ50. It also contemplated the production of US dollars but in a lesser extent because of technical difficulties. Operation Bernhard started in 1942 when Himmler revived the operation and assigned the mission to Bernhard KrГјger, an SS Major. KrГјger purpose was to improve Operation Andreas to make it more efficient. He moved the production centre to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, near Berlin, and employed Jewish prisoners to produce counterfeit British notes. Around 142 Jewish were part of the operation, being isolated from the rest of the camp to avoid the spread of any detail about the mission. While people have gotten very angry at Muggs, no policeman has actually ever shot at him. Understatement, speaking of things as if they were less important than they are, is another tool Twain and Thurber use to add humor. You fix up for the drought . . . and ten to one you get drowned. You make up your mind that an earthquake is due . . . and the first thing you know, you get struck by lightning. These are great disappointments (Twain 523). Twain suggests that getting drowned or struck by lightning are just disappointments, while in actuality, these events are catastrophic. Thurber writes, He just bumped you, after Muggs had bitten Mrs. Detweiler (529). Being an example of understatement, getting bit by a dog is actually much worse than just getting bumped. An author s diction can also aid in creating a humorous short story. Mark Twain uses the words sumptuous variety, dazzling uncertainty, peculiar, utterly disproportioned, and bewitching when describing the weather in New England (521 523). Santiago Nasar has a Colombian mother and Arabic father with whom he feels a stronger connection because they speak Arabic, but never around Nasar s mother (MГЎrquez 3). The fact that he must contain his own identity because of his Colombian mother portrays the discomfort held by Colombians towards the foreigners. His foreignness contributes to the accusation made towards him which eventually led to his murder. The author hints that Angela Vicario is lying when she is interrogated by her brothers for the name of the one who took her virginity, because she looked for it in the shadows and found it at first sight among the many, many easily confused names from this world and the other (25). Additionally, the holiday is a time where African Americans honor the traditions of their African ancestors. Therefore, when the child later sees the colors they will automatically relate the colors to the holiday, which will in turn assist the child in remembering the pride instilling principles expressed by the holiday. Saint (1997) also explained in detail the significance of Kwanzaa as well as the importance and meaning of its seven principles. Also, in order to clarify the meaning of the principles, Saint (1997) explained the principles in writing as well as with a corresponding picture. Nursing Theorists A BRIEF STUDY OF NURSING THEORIES ACCORDING TO FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE, JEAN WATSON AND MADELEINE LEININGER TOLULOPE ADEDIWURA MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Nursing as a profession is based on concrete (scientific, philosophical, behavioral, social, and humanities among others), concepts and theories by past and current nursing theorists. These theorists have helped shape the profession from 19th century till date. New theories are emerging due to advance in health care, as off shoot of previous theories and also as addition to suit present day application. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2011), Jean Watson s theoretical framework lies in carative factors, transpersonal caring relationship, and caring moment. This implies basically that the core of nursing is in caring and other qualities of nursing as a profession builds on it. Her assumptions of caring affirms that in all we do to assist a client, caring is the most important. She claimed that without caring, curing cannot effectively occur. Gonzalo (2011), refers to caring as being more healthogenic than curing because it integrates biophysical knowledge with knowledge of human behavior to generate or promote health and to provide ministrations to those who are ill. He also concluded in his review of Jean Watson s work that the science of caring is complementary to the science of curing . MSU s department of nursing associates with Jean Watson s human caring theory as pointed out in the holistic health aspect of its theoretical constructs. This section strongly reflect the ideas of Jean Watson. Pros of the theory* It presents distinct difference between nursing and other health care professions * It is logical and easy to apply to various practice situations * It presents nurses with a good view at nursing Cons of the theory * Caring alone isn t enough as the health care system now incorporates technology in client s care. Therefore, with the caring model and its processes, nurses need to find a blend where technology has its place. Madeleine Leininger s Culture Care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Analysis of Real Altruism Essay Helping someone in need or getting the feeling of wanting to help someone in need is something that happens in everyone s life. It is a common thought that animals help each other expecting to gain something in return. But in some cases, helping is not linked to immediate returning benefits or these are inexistent. This type of behavior has caught the attention of psychologists interested in understanding the ideas and thoughts behind it. Can this be considered real altruism? Psychologists have been studying this issue suggesting different ideas to explain altruistic behavior. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Evolutionary psychologists like Rushton (1991) argue how altruism is part of evolution that originates from genetic purposes. Most studies show that people would rather help a relative or a friend that they have known for a long time instead of someone they are not related or don t have a connection too. It is understandable that helping a relative or someone we have known for a while could be a normal thing and bring us benefit in some way, but it is hard to explain when people and animals show compassion for complete strangers. This apparent altruistic behavior suggests that real altruism does exist. To study this opinion some tried to look at the emotions and cognitive things that were happening to the person before they were helping this person. Piliavin, 1981, as cited in Hogg and Vaughan, 2008, suggested that the act of not helping someone in need could result in costing the people around them. These could be either an emphatic or of a personal nature. That is, the person helping someone may feel bad if choosing not to help someone. They did a study on three cognitive areas a person standing there goes through before knowing or thinking what the outcome may be from helping that person. First the person suffers from physiological arousal, which means to feel distressful or uncomfortable in the troubles of that person. Secondly, the person around this person needs to deal with this feeling. As explained by Vaughan and Hogg, this feeling alone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Public Transportation I m sure everyone, at least once in their life, has found themselves in a situation, deciding on whether they should drive or opt to take a public transit. Like many other subjects, there has been and most likely always will be long lived debates over which method of transportation is truly the best choice. Naturally, most people are constantly looking for the smartest and cheapest option as well as the most popular option, but that isn t always the easiest decision. Some factors such as cost, convenience, impact on the environment, safety can weigh in on the choice between the driving or public transit. I wantto present an argument both for and against each option of transportation for others to take into consideration for their choices. In the factual sense of this debate, the better choice leans more obviously towards the public transit, but for some people, like myself, the vote of driving your own car may present itself as the most popular choice for many of its own reasons. So, this brings me to my simple question: which do you prefer taking the busor driving yourself? For those of you who choose public transit as their preferred method of transportation, the pros and cons may seem like an endless mountain to sort through. Let s start with the pros. Toner 2 Cost is obviously one of the biggest reasons people take the bus because the expenses that can build up due to insurance, repairs, and other maintenance costs are not the passenger s responsibility. Stress may seem to melt away at the fact that while on a bus you aren t worried about being the one driving through traffic jams, as well as at the fact that you can freely and safely occupy yourself with things such as reading, texting, watching the passing scenery, or even sleeping until you reach your destination. Another pro could be that, assuming you re not socially awkward, you would most definitely meet some interesting characters riding along with you and may even be invited into some fun conversations. On the other hand, you may very well be that socially awkward person who is uncomfortable when people invade your personal bubble uninvited. [He] used up all his money (Musui 44). In this section, Katsu exhibits a lack of self control over his money. His behavior is representative of many low level samurai throughout Tokugawa Japan. These irresponsible economic decisions combine with pre existing financial disparity to place samurai largely in debt. Similarly, these districts were often seen as an escape for samurai and members of the lower class. Just before Katsu has fled home for the second time, he says To take my mind off my woes, I went to the Yoshiwara (Musui 60). • 46. William Paley s Argument From Design Argument from Design In the Argument from Design article by William Paley, he begins the argument by describing the mechanisms of a watch. These parts all combine in a certain way to make the watch work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch would not do anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch in the mind. He would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was not brought into existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items together. There is the idea of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver. Therefore, there must be some sort of creator of the watch, even though the creator is unknown. This same concept could be applied to the universe, stating that there must be a creator that made these elaborate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even if people were unaware of the person who made the watch, ignorance is not an excuse for not giving credit to the artist. An objection to his argument is that some of the parts seem to have no function, so they were not designed. Paley states there may be a function of these parts that we are unable to see or understand. The design is evident from examining the rest of the watch. The machine does not have to be perfect in order to understand the artist s design of the mechanism. For example, a blueprint of a machine can show you the idea and purpose of the final results, even though all the parts on the blueprint are not specifically described on why it exists. The design could not be a fault of chance due to its complexity. The observer of the watch cannot be driven out of his conclusion, even though he may know ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. How Did Alfred The Great Influence Society The middle ages was a period of great territorial and social instability throughout Europe. After the fall of Rome, the Byzantine Empire gained control in the east, while in the west however, no single empire arose from Rome s ashes (citation). During the 800s or near the end of the early medieval ages, Christians in southern England were in constant battle with the Danes who controlled northern Europe. These groups of seven kingdoms in southern England were known as the Anglo Saxons. Among the leaders of the seven Anglo Saxon kingdoms who were threatened by the Danes march toward the south was Alfred the Great, Ruler of the small kingdom of Wessex. After uniting the Anglo Saxon Kingdoms (Southern England) and defeating then Danes in the battle of Ethandun, Alfred the Great continued to transform... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alfred the Great was born in Wantage, United Kingdom sometime in 849 AD. As the 4th and youngest son of his father, Г†thelwulf of Wessex, Alfred was never expected to succeed to the throne of Wessex, but after his brother Aethelred s death in 871 he became King of Wessex. As king he united seven Anglo Saxon kingdoms and began his military campaign against the ever closing threat, the Vikings. One of Alfred s greatest accomplishments was his ability to lead his military into battle and protect his people by repelling Viking raids on the Anglo Saxon kingdoms. Alfred accomplished this by the formation of a standing army whose main purpose was to provide Wessex with a military group that was mobile enough to quickly intercept Viking raiders and prevent raids from threatening Wessex civilians (Reuter 220). Although these small military groups may not have been as robust as a regular army, they were instrumental in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the ethnic cleansing was never finished, the Muslims that still existed and became a minority ethnic group. They could not be mixed into the population to create a diverse society unless the government passed laws allowing them to be or if the superior ethnic groups accepted them into their society. The violence used during the war destroyed the hopes for making Bosnia diverse. As verified by Black, Although Bosnian Serbs, Bosnian Croats, and Bosnian Muslims had been able to live together for decades, the bloodshed of the 1990s nearly destroyed hopes for a multiethnic Bosnia. ... As asserted by McMahon and Western, Although Bosnia professes to seek the creation of a unified multi ethnic state, its political institutions support ethnic partition at every level of government. The politicians of Bosnia wanted the government to be diverse on all levels, but they were still trying to create a diverse society at the same time. Ethnic partition in the government was also supported by the nationalist parties in Bosnia. As advocated by Black, The elections were held without violence, but the results were a victory for the nationalist parties who wanted to maintain the ethnic partition of the country. The result of the election was a new three person presidency with each president from a different ethnic group. The nationalist parties saw this as a victory because they supported ethnic partition in the government. Although people in Bosnia supported a diverse government, the country was still broken. Dahlman and Tuathail described that, Without cooperation from the local authorities to reverse the wartime property laws, returnees to other areas could not re establish possession over their ... • 49. Reverend Hale is Not Guilty There are usually at least a few instances when a person gets wrongfully accused of something they did not do, whether it would be taking the last cookie out of the jar, picking their nose, or even something to the extremity of taking someone s life. A tragic, real life example of this is when Michael Morton got sentenced to life in prison when he was falsely accused of murdering his wife. Twenty five years later, he was eventually exonerated from prison by the use of DNA evidence. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible, while the witch trials were underway, situations like this were common occurrences. The play which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, was centered around many innocent people getting framed for witchcraft by licentious people who wanted to place blame on them due to jealousy or hatred for the sole purpose of revenge. The rumors quickly spreading through the town caused hysteria, defined by people behaving in an uncontrolled way due to fear or anger, eventually leading to nineteen righteous people being hung. Reverend Hale, a supposed expert on witchcraft was one of the main people to blame for the witch trials according to the vast majority of readers. Despite that, his probity becomes clearer and clearer when scrutinizing the text for its true meaning. After all, he was not responsible for the spread of the rumors about witchcraft, he began to realize the flaws in the Salem witch trials as the story progressed, and he tried to compel everyone condemned to death ...
