Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nuclear Power Plant
INTRODUCTION :
Nuclear Power maybe is the best choice to aid electricity generating in Malaysia as it is low in cost,
long lasting power source.
Malaysia established Nuclear Agency and been actively involved in the periodic of reviewing the
option to apply nuclear energy, however, currently there is no further plan to embark on nuclear power
programme.
Technically, it is impossible to build a nuclear plant with 100% safety security. A minimum failure will
always occur and it can due to devastating and catastrophic for human and nature. (spinka)
Most of the countries in the world begin to realize the importance of technology which is more

4. Nuclear energy is cost effective but it is too RISKY (refer to Fukushima, Chernobyl Nuclear Power
Plant in Ukraine and northern France s accidents).
Malaysia is considering to built nuclear power plant to support the growing needs of energy in
congested areas but the idea halted after what has unfolded in Japan when Fukushima Power Plant had
a nuclear meltdown.
Naoto Kan, Japan s Prime Minister when Fukushima struck, had this to say: Prior to Fukushima, I
believed that such a severe accident would not happen in Japan, I continued nuclear power under this
belief. When Fukushima hit, I clearly knew that my beliefs until then had been completely wrong.

South Afric A Country Found At The Southern Tip Of Africa...
Background Information
South Africa is a country found at the southern tip of Africa that boasts of a relatively rich history.
Dutch traders arrived at the south most tip of present day South Africa in 1652 and built a stopover
point on the path that was used to transport spice between Holland and the Far East, consequently
instituting the town of Cape Town. After the British captured the Cape of Good Hope area in 1806,
many of the Dutch residents fled to the north to institute their own republics in areas taken from the
indigenous African populace (Beck, 2014). The exposition of gemstones and silver stimulated
prosperity and immigration and increased the subjugation of the local population. The Afrikaners
opposed English encroachments but were beaten in the Second South African War (1899 1902);
nonetheless, the English and the Afrikaners, continued to rule over South Africa in 1910 under the
Union of South Africa. Following a whites only referendum, South Africa became a republic in 1961
(Thompson Berat, 2014).
In 1948, the National Party, which was widely Afrikaner dominated, was elected into power and
implemented a protocol of apartheid the individualized growth of the races which highly privileged
the white colored community at the cost of the Africans who ironically represented the majority. The
African National Congress (ANC) led the resistance to apartheid and many top ANC pioneers and
leaders, such as Nelson Mandela, were captured and spent a long time in South

Environmental Problems Associated With Organic Dyes
1. INTRODUCTION
Environmental problems related with hazardous wastes and toxic water pollutants have attracted much
attention towards itself. Organic dyes are one of the major groups of pollutants in wastewaters
released from textile and other industrial processes.
Photocatalysis is a simple and promising technique for solving various current environmental issues.
Semiconductor absorbents offer a great potential for eliminating the organic pollutants present.
Semiconductor photocatalysts for example, zinc oxide and titanium oxide have been applied to
degradation of contaminants in waste water and air.
On common example,For photocatalysis process, ZnO has also been considered as a suitable
alternative for TiO2 due to The band gap energy of ZnO is similar to TiO2, the most used
photocatalytic material, so it hypothetically has the same photocatalytic ability as TiO2 and it exhibits
better performance in the degradation of organic dye molecules in acidic as well as basic media.
The doping of Cu in ZnO is expected to modify absorption, and other physical or chemical properties
of ZnO also.
Lately,( Co doping) doping of two types of atoms into semiconductor materials has attracted interest,
as it result in a higher photocatalytic activity and special characteristics compared with that of single
element doping into semiconductor oxides .
Here, a simple Physical method is developed for the synthesis of Cu doped ZnO nanorods, and their
photocatalytic activities with different

Supply and Demand for Tobacco
A) I have chosen cigarettes to be my market transaction as it is has a very large and wide market. A
cigarette is a product consumed through smoking and manufactured out of cured and finely cut
tobacco leaves and reconstituted tobacco, often combined with other additives1, Cigarettes is
produced to satisfy the growing population of smokers. Smokers are hooked to a substance called
nicotine that is in a cigarette along with other harmful substances. Cigarette is a great product to be
selling for the firm. As the customers(smokers) are addicted to nicotine , these firms can rely on them
for continuous demand and they can easily increase supply. Therefore, the firms can easily monopoly

For example, if people expect to earn a higher income next month, they may be more willing to spend
some of their current savings buying cigarettes. As another example, if people expect the price of
cigarettes to fall tomorrow, they may be less willing to buy an cigarettes at today s price.3 The Size
and Structure of the Population A larger population, other things being equal, will mean a higher
demand for cigarettes. Changes in the way the population is structured also influences demand. Many
Eastern countries have a growing population and this leads to a change in the demand as there are
more young adults in China (for example). Thus demand of cigarettes might increase Summary The
demand curve shows what happens to the quantity demanded of a good when its price varies, holding
constant all the other variables that influence buyers. When one or more of these other variables
changes, the demand curve shifts leading to an increase or decrease in demand. The table below lists
all the variables that influence how much consumers choose to buy cigarettes.4 An example of

European Military Changes From 1789 To 1914
During the time period of 1789 to 1914, several changes began to occur within the European military.
Leaders began changing their techniques on how they would approach battles, placement of their men,
what kind of equipment they would utilize, along with their means of transportation, how would they
communicate with others, along with several other changes. During this time period, the use of
technology began to increase which had allowed for the battles to become easier for those using the
new technology. There were three important changes that had occurred in the European military which
included: transportation with the service of trains and railways, the newest weapons such as the breech
loading rifles, and communication by using telegraphs. With these three inventions, this had changed
the outcome on wars and battles for the days to come.
Transportation was a necessity during the battles and wars. Transportation that was done by horses or
by foot, made for a slower and inefficient way to arrive at the planned location. Also, if the troops
needed extra supplies, it must come by foot and that left room attacks where they were not prepared or
have enough equipment to fight adequately. When trains and railroads were created this provided a

Breech loading rifles have a further range and better accuracy than the muzzleloaders. This new rifle
allowed rapid fire, whereas a muzzleloader needed to be loaded after every shot. Since several other
countries did not believe in this new technology, numerous countries were defeated by the Europeans
using the breech loading rifle. The other countries had a higher count of fatalities than the Europeans
had. Therefore, by changing from the muzzleloading rifles to the breech loading rifles this had made
an appearance in the battles and wars, as this rifle helped the European countries to gain a

broader impact of the project.
The PI initiates a new approach (in items 2,5, 6), using the precise large time
asymptotic behavior of solutions of a parabolic equation to study the geometric property of K
manifolds, and to solve the Poincar Lelong equation. The method is effective in proving
sharp and optimal result. The method reminisces the celebrated ergodic theorem of Birkhoff

11 comparison result for viscosity solutions of some first and second order PDEs are proved. This
immediately yields the celebrated Levy Gromov isoperimetric inequality and its generalization
as consequences. In item 14, a classification result on four dimensional gradient shrinking
solitons with nonnegative isotropic curvature was proved. This result generalizes the earlier result of
Naber, which proves a classification under the stronger assumption of bounded nonnegative
curvature operator.
The research conducted in items 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are related to Birkhoff ergodic
theorem (which was applied by H. Weyl to understand the retreats and advances of glaciers. Further
understanding of this connection shall be sensational to the subject of partial differential equation and
dynamic system. The research in items 9, 12, 13 are related to the concept of entropy in
thermodynamics, which have impacts to other sciences beyond mathematics. The work in item 1
contributes an advancement in the high energy physics.

The Importance Of Nursing Homes Are The Best Places For...
With the growth of the aged population, finding the suitable accommodation for the elderly becomes a
popular topic of interests. From that, an increasing number of the elderly are sent to nursing homes,
the facilities that specialized in aged care and are regarded as the ideal places for old people. However,
some question whether nursing homes are truly the best places for the elderly. This essay will argue
that there are still some issues that need to be addressed in nursing homes, which may probably even
make the elderly s lives worse. In this case, nursing homes are not the best places for the aged people.
Firstly, the facilities and staffs of nursing homes are possibly not as adequate as one would like to
imagine. One reason that nursing homes are described as the suitable places for the olds is that they
provide specialized facilities, doctors, nurses and care recipients to protect the health for the elderly.
Australian Aged Care Quality Agency has set some standards for nursing homes and the Standard 2
Health and personal care shows that nursing homes must put efforts on Staff development, Clinical
care, Specialized nursing care needs and Medication management. However, the facilities are actually
rarely checked to ensure that they meet the standards of basic health and safety (Brodwin, 2014) as
well as the percentages of nursing homes that lack adequate staffs to properly care for patients and
have been in violation of elderly abuse laws are 91% and 36% respectively

The Outsiders Differences Between Book And Movie
The Outsiders
Books and movies have many similarities and differences, this is some similarities and differences in
The Outsiders. The similarities in the books are they all have the same lesson/theme. In the book and
movie the lesson or point is the split between gangs and how they also have the same problems on
both sides of town this makes the story more reliable than not to have the same theme. In the movie
and the book the themes are very apparent in the split between social groups which makes the story
have the same feeling as the book. In the movie in the book and movie Johnny is abused by his
parents. This is important because in the book Johnny is the shy character which is always in the lot or
not at home which forms the character. That is how some similarities in the book and the movie of the
great novel The Outsiders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the more apparent differences in the book and movie is that in the book Johnny is a very shy
and soft spoken yet on the movie johnny is more talkative. This affects the plot greatly by saying that
Johnny is beaten and is on the verge to kill yet in the movie the feeling of being abused is not here.
This leads me to believe that Johnny doesn t have the strength to kill Bob Sheldon. Another difference
is that in the book is that Johnny in the hospital was on a bed but in the movie Johnny is is on a high
tech bed which is built for his injury. This is important because in the movie the specialized bed gives
the feeling that he is in critical condition which makes the audience more emotional than the book
with Johnny in a common bed which does not give the feeling of a critical condition. That is some of
the many differences in the book and movie of The

Figurative Language In Homer s The Odyssey
The Odyssey is a greek mythology adventure with many short stories inside of it. There were many
different themes expressed throughout the stories, often through figurative language. In The Odyssey,
Homer used figurative language to express theme by using different literary devices such as
personification and hyperboles.
One of the literary devices Homer used to express a theme in the Odyssey is personification. For
example, in the story The Cyclops , Homer wrote When the young Dawn with fingertips of rose lit up
the world... (Line 252 253). This quote was personification because it gave Dawn the human quality
of fingertips. This use of personification expressed the theme of patience, because Odysseus and his

Local Ternary Pattern (DRLTP) for object recognition. The proposed DLBP and DRLTP are resultant
from the disadvantage of the Local Binary Pattern (LBP), Local Ternary Pattern (LTP) and Robust

Essay Visibly Muslim by Emma Tarlo
Visibly muslim, an ethnography published by Emma Tarlo, portrays the visibility of British muslims
through their fashion, politics and faith (Tarlo 2010). The text is constructed in a way that allows non
muslim readers to understand the culture of the muslim faith and take a look into the culture and the
hardships they face in society, all through the eyes of a non muslim British female (Tarlo 2010).
Ethnicity is presented as an outlook a community has that sets them apart from the rest, either through
dress, religion, language and/or solidarity, as presented in (Davis 2014) lecture material. In Visibly
Muslim the visibility of ethnicity in an urban setting is discussed, and that visibility can be due to

Another way conflict has made the ethnic visibility of muslims portrayed through media is the Jiljab
controversy of 2002 (Tarlo 2010). In September of 2002, a 13 year old girl of Bengali origin and her
brothers, threatened the head principal of an London high school, for not allowing their sister to wear
the hijab, because they said the Shalwar kamiz was not legitimate enough for their sister to express her
religious beliefs. This matter was taken to court in 2004 where the brothers and their sister pleaded
their case and walked out winners (Tarlo 2010). This controversy attracted major media attention and
was featured in newspapers and television documents around the world (Tarlo 2010). This could be
seen to exemplify the visibility of muslims in a way that portrays them to be people who actively,
publicly and consciously advocate their religious identity to the world (Schmidt 2011) showing that
due to the conflict that had risen between a girl, her brothers and the school principal the medias effect
portrayed this conflict to the whole world, representing muslims in a light that portrayed them as
uncompromising and unreasonable, demanding people, which were at odds with western liberal values

Role Of Self Disclosure In Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Role of self disclosure in cognitive behaviour therapy
Feminist therapists purposefully self disclose their opinions and feelings about such emotionally and
politically divisive issues as sexual orientation and nonmonogamous relationships so that clients can
decide whether the psychologist will provide unprejudiced support if these issues arise.
In cognitive behaviour therapy, where the importance is placed on between session changes, a rational
intervention that accelerates such changes can be freely integrated into treatment. In functional
analytic psychotherapy, psychologists are encouraged to self disclose the personal impact that clients
make on them. By responding to the client s ineffective and effective behaviours within the session,
the psychologist or therapist encourages the client s use of adaptive interpersonal behaviours and
rejects behaviours that are problematic. Drives of therapeutic self disclosure in cognitive behaviour
therapy may contain providing feedback on the interpersonal impact made by the client, enhancing
positive expectations and motivation, strengthening the therapeutic bond, normalising the client s
reaction, reducing the client s fears, and modelling an effective way of functioning (Burckell et al
2003).

Psychoanalytic and Trait Approaches Personality Assessment
I have always attributed personality as being a culmination of environment first, biology second, and
traits, or what my understanding of them was. I was not aware of Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic
approach, or the correct definition of the trait theory prior to beginning this class. The psychoanalytic
approach to personality defines the origins of personality as being divided in to three parts; the id
(unconscious), the superego (preconscious) and the ego (conscious). Each part plays a distinct role in
memory, response, desire, decision making, and conscience. With all three parts interacting,
conflicting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, children have to learn control over bodily functions and depending on whether the experience is
positive or negative, like behavioral patterns emerge. Freud believed that a negative experience could
result in an adult personality that is obsessive, and stubborn.
According to Freud, defense mechanisms exist as a way for the ego to deal with things it cannot filter
from the anxiety created within the superego and the id. Displacement is a classic example of a
defense mechanism. Have you ever had a bad day at work where nothing you did would satisfy your
boss? Wanting to tell your boss off or acting on the frustrations or feelings would be detrimental to
your job status. Instead of acting on that frustration it stays pent up, and by the time you get home
from work you explode at your child, or spouse for some insignificant little infraction. Your taking
your aggression out on a person who did not pose a threat to you is displacement.
A second defense mechanism is reaction formation. Freud believed that using reaction formation
allows us to hide how we feel by acting the exact opposite. A good example would be a person who is
extremely outspoken about gay rights. Freud would have no doubt believed that because this person s
beliefs were so extreme that this person must be fighting an internal demon; maybe this person was
fighting their own secret feelings of attraction for

The Role Of Choice In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
The Threat and Prestige of Choice Mankind has assumed the role of Godlike power that was once left
in the hand of deities. As a soldier walks onto a battlefield the power that he holds is in the barrel of
the gun. He makes the decisions whether to pull the trigger or not. He makes his way towards the
enemy s base and sees a target. He fires. The power that that soldier had was once only associated
with God. That God has the ability to bring people into this Earth as well as to take people from it.
With mankind s divine powers comes great responsibility. This is what John Steinbeck is emphasizing
in his 1962 Nobel Prize speech. He believes that because human s have taken Godlike power, we must
seek responsibility for our actions. He ties this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This decision that George has to make is not one he wants to do, but one he has to do. While in hiding
George contemplates, And George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close
to the back of Lennie s head. The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand steadied. He
pulled the trigger (Steinbeck 106). This quote relates to Steinbeck s nobel speech because they both
relate to the idea that choice is a pain and a virtue. As Steinbeck states in his speech, The danger and
glory and the choice rest finally in man. The test of his perfectibility is at hand. Having taken Godlike
powers, we must seek in ourselves for the responsibility and the wisdom we once prayed for some
deity might have (John Steinbeck Banquet Speech). This quote from Steinbeck s speech and the quote
from Of Mice and Men are linked through the idea that choice is both a pain and a virtue, and that
with choice comes responsibility and wisdom. George s decision to shoot Lennie is a test of
perfectibility in George s morals if killing Lennie is the right or wrong thing. George is taking Godlike
powers as he contemplates whether to take George from this world.

What Role Does Margaret Play In A Midsummer Night s Dream...
It seems that the majority of the plays we have read have contained male lead characters. The stories
always revolve around the men, but what about the women? They should not be ignored even though
they are not the feature character of the story. Many of them have significant roles to the storyline, and
without them, the play would be quite different. Queen Margaret played an important role in Richard
III as a prophesier of the events that were to unfold, and Helena was important to A Midsummer
Nights Dream because she was the only one who really thought about the nature of love. Queen
Margaret is the old, vehement widow of King Henry VI. She enjoys angrily lurking around the castle
and cursing everyone for the dreadful things that have happened to her family. Margaret s wrath exists
for good reason. For one thing, Richard s family took the thrown from Queen Margaret s late husband
so that Edward IV could be crowned king. In addition to this, Richard killed her son. Margaret is not
only a woman, but also a widow, and now she s a charity case without a husband or a son. She feels a
terrible grief, and the fact that the murders have not been avenged just makes things worse for her.

Because she lacks any real physical or political power, she turns to casting curses. The intense rage
that she directs at Richard and his family stands for the helpless, righteous anger of all Richard s

Thou killed st my husband Henry in the Tower, / And Edward, my poor son, at Tewksbury (1.3.118

events in the play. While speaking to Queen Elizabeth, she

Symbols Of The Caribbean Culture
There are multiple cultures around the world that influence a country s way of living. A culture is the
way in which certain groups behave, think, and what tangible objects they bring value to. The
Colombian culture is profoundly influenced by the Spanish culture, but has many distinct factors that
allow it to properly function. The first component of culture is symbols. Symbols are anything with
significance and value shared by the people in a culture. A symbol most countries value is their
national flag. The colors of the Colombian flag each symbolize a characteristic ideal for a strong
country. The yellow horizontal stripe is a reference to the wealth in gold Colombia withheld before the
arrival of Spaniards. The blue depicts the oceans lining the outer regions of the country. A second
interpretation of the flag s blue color is the country s loyalty and consciousness. Lastly, the red reflects
the bravery Colombians inherited during their victorious fight for independence as well as a
recognition for those who lost their lives (Colombia s National Symbols, 2017). Another national
symbol in Colombia is the Coat of Arms. The Coat of Arms is a national symbol of their motto
Libertad y Orden which translates to Liberty and Order . The national bird, Andean condor, has an
important meaning to the roots of Colombians, dating back to the indigenous Andean culture. The
Andean people used the vulture as a symbol of health and power. Gestures as well are symbols that

Amistad War
The touchiest issue that somebody can bring up in the early nineteenth century is slavery. The
Amistad, paradoxically a ship that means companionship, was the location of one of the utmost
historic slave upheavals ran by black Africans in 1839. This rebellion gained substantial attention from
the American population, the media, as well as other intercontinental interests. It was the black
insurgence on board the Amistad that ignited the fundamental concerns of legislations, slavery,
sectionalism, faith, trade rights, and anti British sentiment that had previously beleaguered the country
at the time of the Amistad event. The controversy drew the whole world into the battle over social and
property rights, a dispute that alienated our nation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The north and south became progressively separated over slavery and states rights to create
regulations that affect their citizens. Amistad emphasizes the firmly entrenched divisions between the
North and South, especially when it comes to the institution of slavery during the trial between the
two sides. When the judge grants freedom to the slaves the opposing side was very upset and was not
afraid to show their feelings. Also, there was a coincidence in the movie when the slave s lawyer had
been struck on the head by someone who disagreed with his actions. This shows the tension between
the north and the south because so many people invested their time and heart into this that trial for the
slaves to be able to go back to their homeland.
Eric Foner, a professor at History at Columbia University states that, Amistad presents a highly
misleading account of the case s historical significance, in the process sugarcoating the relationship
between the American judiciary and slavery. The film gives the distinct impression that the Supreme
Court was convinced by Adams plea to repudiate slavery in favor of the natural rights of man, thus
taking a major step on the road to abolition. By this, Foner is stating that the movie is not as
historically accurate as it could have

Analysis Of The Movie Dark Souls Ost
Dark Souls OST
There was somewhat of a surprise for VGM listeners upon the release of the first trailer for Dark
Souls, FromSoftware s spiritual successor to Demon s souls. Even before any initial announcement
was made, it was easy to recognize the work of veteran freelance composer Motoi Sakuraba, his
trademark compositional style being so integral. Known primarily for his virtuosic progressive rock
compositions, Dark Souls was to be his first fully orchestral work since the Baroque influenced
Infinite Undiscovery nearly half a decade prior, and promised to be his bleakest to match the somber
and sorrowful medieval inspired world of the Souls series as previously defined by composer
Shinsuke Kita. And there s good news for those who may fear the presence of one of Sakuraba s
frequent collaborators, the synth orchestra: all of the instruments are live. In addition, the grandeur of
the collection of strings and brass receive a helping voice from the surprise contribution of the Tokyo
Philharmonic Chorus. So, let s listen and hear if Motoi Sakuraba s step out of his typical area will
stand up or stumble.
Motoi Sakuraba announces his presence with the grandiose opening theme Prologue . Listeners
familiar with the soundtrack to Valkyrie Profile 2 will recognize the subtle build of harp and strings
into an unlashing of full orchestral tutti. However, it s the next track that truly defines the bleaker
timbre of this soundtrack. Firelink Shrine is the piece for the

Digital Story Project Analysis
At the start of the project, I was a bit nervous and hesitant about how I would go about with the
project, considering I had no video editing/creating experience. I knew that the digital story project
was important and a great opportunity to reach out to others in the community. It was great be a part of
something that can make a difference. When Sara and I first met with Monica for the first time prior to
the real interview, it was a really nice conversation between all three of us. I felt that Monica was
meant to be our interviewee and that it was our mission to share her story. That first interaction with
Monica reminded me of both of my mother here in the U.S. and in Vietnam. It reminded me of how
hard they have to work everyday to enable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, I would make sure that the tape recorder worked properly and that I knew what all the buttons
were. Since it was my first time using a tape recorder, I know I shouldn t blame myself. Secondly, I
would make sure to create a list of questions that was more organized and similar to create a story.
Thirdly, I would make sure that Monica had all the knowledge and resources to communicate with us
and the ability to use her phone/email. This is because we learned that Monica didn t have a lot of
experience with technology and she didn t know how to exactly worked her email. Throughout the
project, we would learn that she had a friend that helped her send emails and so on. If I was given a do
over, I would figure out what was the most easiest way for Monica to re record and learn what her
strength and weakness were. I realized that it would ve been easier if the tape recorder worked the first
time we did the interview. Either way, the digital story project was an amazing experience for me and
it truly pushed me out of my comfort zone. I learned that everything is a learning process, and that I
should not be too hard on myself. Now that I have learned the basic of video editing, I am excited to
do more! (Thank you Professor Nguyen for making the learning process so exciting). In the end, I am
looking forward to work on future projects with Amy and to further help them with their goals in

What Is The Similarities Of The Fourknocks In Co. Meath
This essay aims to compare and contrast the nature of the rituals that would have taken place at any
two of the sites that we encountered on our fieldtrip. The two megalithic sites that will be compared
and contrasted in this essay will be the passage tomb known as Fourknocks in Co. Meath and the
Proleek wedge tomb in Co. Louth. Both of these megalithic tombs characterise the majority of the
Irish landscape and are of great importance to archaeologists as they give us an insight to the lifestyles
and social structures of the societies that would have constructed these wonderful megalithic sites.
Megalithic sites like Fourknocks and the Proleek wedge tomb are at the centre of controversy within
the archaeological profession. There is little or no doubt that these large stone structures were erected
in order to hold the remains of the dead but archaeologists would also like to believe that there is more
to these large stone structures then just having a funerary orientated purpose (Brown, 1979). Other
purposes that could be related to these monuments include, links to the spirit world, astronomical,
directional or calendrical purposes (Brown, 1979).
Before we discuss the two megalithic sites already mentioned above we must first understand what a
megalithic site is and why they are so important for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fourknocks 1 is a type of passage grave known as a cruciform passage grave with a low kerb of
drystone surrounding it (Hartnett, 1957). What was very unusual about this passage tomb was that
there was no exterior kerb. At the centre of the tomb there is a post hole which may suggest that there
was a pole placed here either to support the roof or it was used as a marker to indicate where the tomb
was to be built (Cooney, 1997). The main burial chamber is very spacious. When you enter this

William s English Comp 1 Class
Prior to attending Mrs. William s English Comp 1 class, I felt marginally confident about my writing,
however, I knew I needed improvement. You visually perceive, I ve been out of school for
proximately thirty three years and honestly, not knowing what to expect these questions arose, Can I
genuinely write ? What type of writing will be required ? How well will I do ? When I stepped into the
classroom and gazed about the room, I felt out of my element. The students were much younger and
more keenly intellective than recollections but, I was here for a reason and that was to improve my
writing. During my childhood, reading was a passion of mine, reading often and reading more books
than I can recollect. As I reflect, reading a great deal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I personally found that I have improved on my grammar, for example, the appropriate placement of
commas, semi colons, and reducing the run on sentences that frequented my writing. In the role of a
writer, I determined that I wasn t as far off on my writing skills as I thought, upon entering Mrs.
William s classroom. Furthermore, I learned that I commenced to relish it. It seemed to have liberated
me at times. When it comes prewriting for assignments, I generally write my views down on paper by
hand. It may be old school, but it is a very effective style for me. I find the words flow more clearly in
that respect. Next, I generally wait a day or so before I revisited my sample. This is the time to reread
what I had written, often making the essential changes. Then I write the essay in the MLA format,
print it, read it, and rectify any punctuation errors. Lastly, time permitting, I would generally wait a
day or two afore I returned to my writing for two reasons. One to find supplemental mistakes and/or
two to revitalize what I have already wrote. I often altered some of the verbiage to establish I was
producing work worth reading. While writing, the mundane mistakes I make are generally punctuation
and run on sentences.
As far as criticism, I am open to it. My goal is to be able to write well, allowing readers to understand
and relish my work. Writing for me is

The Stages of Psychosocial Development
During the first psychosocial stage test back in 1975, Erikson figured that how a mother and father
look after their child is a major factor in determining how much trust the child will place in their
parents. (1998 11734 016). At this time in life, humans are very dependent, and practically helpless
with everything. We have to rely on other people for everything from food, to clothing, to bathroom
needs, and in this case, affection. The main issue of this stage is Trust vs. Mistrust . Obviously, if an
infant is not getting the proper needs met, they will become unsure of their environment, and probably
not trust their parents. Infants require proper development and movement to be helped into the next
stage, they require elders for the physical and emotional needs to be met on a constant basis. A healthy
outcome of this stage happens when the child develops a real sense of trust and mistrust in themselves,
their parents, and their surrounding world. Trust may appear as an issue for interns even before the
internship has begun.(1998 11734 016). Erikson theorized that if the parents were to loosely watch
after their child, they would have less trust with in their parents. So oppositely he viewed that if they
were to pay closer attention and be there if the child was to fall, they would have more trust in the
world and their parents. So if an intern secures a position and then on arrival finds certain problems
between certain information and reality, it is most likely going

Essay on Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North
Analysis of Seamus Heaney s North
The poet Keats wrote that the only means of strengthening one s intellect is to make up one s own
mind about nothing to let the mind be a thoroughfare for all thought, not a select body . That this may
be an admirable aim for a poet, and especially so for one writing against a background of ethnic
violence, is not in doubt. It is, however, extremely difficult to remain neutral when one identifies
oneself with an ethnic party involved in conflict. It is my intention, then, in this essay, to document
how Seamus Heaney s reaction to violence in his homeland has affected his writings, with particular
reference to the volume of poetry entitled North . This volume first appeared in 1975, a year after the

Reading these last two stanzas of the poem, it is not difficult to understand why it caused outrage upon
its publication. To even the most liberal of readers it surely must seem that the poet is in league with
those who tar and feather women merely for having friends from the wrong side . One can accept that
a casual onlooker may not risk life and limb to intervene to aid a stranger; what one finds much more
difficult to accept is that Heaney, on seeing young women tarred and weeping, understands the ...
tribal, intimate revenge . This is poetry as catharsis. Although adultery and dating British soldiers are
obviously two different things, they are both activities which occur outside the tribe. The sense of
tribalism is present throughout and is presented as an inescapable and timeless pattern. Throughout the
poem Heaney has apologetically distanced himself from violence, always ...the artful voyeur . This
poem tells us much in relation to Heaney s stance on the violence in Northern Ireland. He certainly
identifies with it, as we see in the poet s inclusion of himself in the first line where I can feel... and
indeed how could he not for he was surrounded by it. His attitude, as already stated, seems to be that it
is merely part of an inevitable cycle

Health Disparities In The Transgender
Transgender is a metaphorical umbrella term that covers a person whose self identification, anatomy,
appearance, manner, and/or expression is different from the sex assigned to them at birth and does not
fit with societies interpretation for the norm of gender roles. Included in the transgender umbrella are
transsexual people, non binary gender identities, and cross dressing (LGBT Youth, 2017). Transgender
individuals are often the target of discrimination, injustice and social stigma that can lead to negative
health outcomes.
Health Disparities The transgender population often have complicated medical needs and encounter
numerous health disparities including discrimination, lack of access to quality health care and social
stigma. Some health disparities include various chronic diseases, cancers, as well as mental health
issues (Vanderbilt University, 2017). Transgender individuals are at increased risk of HIV infection
with their rates being reported over four times the national average of HIV infection, with higher rates
among transgender people of color (Grant, Mottet, Tanis, 2011). In addition, they usually do not have
health insurance (Makadon, 2017) and have a lower probability of preventative cancer screenings in
transgender men (AMSA, 2017).
Specific Health Care Needs Specific health care needs of transgender individuals include conditions
due to hormone treatment. Hormones with the function of delaying puberty, also prevent normal

  • 4. South Afric A Country Found At The Southern Tip Of Africa... Background Information South Africa is a country found at the southern tip of Africa that boasts of a relatively rich history. Dutch traders arrived at the south most tip of present day South Africa in 1652 and built a stopover point on the path that was used to transport spice between Holland and the Far East, consequently instituting the town of Cape Town. After the British captured the Cape of Good Hope area in 1806, many of the Dutch residents fled to the north to institute their own republics in areas taken from the indigenous African populace (Beck, 2014). The exposition of gemstones and silver stimulated prosperity and immigration and increased the subjugation of the local population. The Afrikaners opposed English encroachments but were beaten in the Second South African War (1899 1902); nonetheless, the English and the Afrikaners, continued to rule over South Africa in 1910 under the Union of South Africa. Following a whites only referendum, South Africa became a republic in 1961 (Thompson Berat, 2014). In 1948, the National Party, which was widely Afrikaner dominated, was elected into power and implemented a protocol of apartheid the individualized growth of the races which highly privileged the white colored community at the cost of the Africans who ironically represented the majority. The African National Congress (ANC) led the resistance to apartheid and many top ANC pioneers and leaders, such as Nelson Mandela, were captured and spent a long time in South ... • 5. Environmental Problems Associated With Organic Dyes 1. INTRODUCTION Environmental problems related with hazardous wastes and toxic water pollutants have attracted much attention towards itself. Organic dyes are one of the major groups of pollutants in wastewaters released from textile and other industrial processes. Photocatalysis is a simple and promising technique for solving various current environmental issues. Semiconductor absorbents offer a great potential for eliminating the organic pollutants present. Semiconductor photocatalysts for example, zinc oxide and titanium oxide have been applied to degradation of contaminants in waste water and air. On common example,For photocatalysis process, ZnO has also been considered as a suitable alternative for TiO2 due to The band gap energy of ZnO is similar to TiO2, the most used photocatalytic material, so it hypothetically has the same photocatalytic ability as TiO2 and it exhibits better performance in the degradation of organic dye molecules in acidic as well as basic media. The doping of Cu in ZnO is expected to modify absorption, and other physical or chemical properties of ZnO also. Lately,( Co doping) doping of two types of atoms into semiconductor materials has attracted interest, as it result in a higher photocatalytic activity and special characteristics compared with that of single element doping into semiconductor oxides . Here, a simple Physical method is developed for the synthesis of Cu doped ZnO nanorods, and their photocatalytic activities with different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Changes in the way the population is structured also influences demand. Many Eastern countries have a growing population and this leads to a change in the demand as there are more young adults in China (for example). Thus demand of cigarettes might increase Summary The demand curve shows what happens to the quantity demanded of a good when its price varies, holding constant all the other variables that influence buyers. When one or more of these other variables changes, the demand curve shifts leading to an increase or decrease in demand. • 7. European Military Changes From 1789 To 1914 During the time period of 1789 to 1914, several changes began to occur within the European military. Leaders began changing their techniques on how they would approach battles, placement of their men, what kind of equipment they would utilize, along with their means of transportation, how would they communicate with others, along with several other changes. During this time period, the use of technology began to increase which had allowed for the battles to become easier for those using the new technology. There were three important changes that had occurred in the European military which included: transportation with the service of trains and railways, the newest weapons such as the breech loading rifles, and communication by using telegraphs. With these three inventions, this had changed the outcome on wars and battles for the days to come. Transportation was a necessity during the battles and wars. Transportation that was done by horses or by foot, made for a slower and inefficient way to arrive at the planned location. Also, if the troops needed extra supplies, it must come by foot and that left room attacks where they were not prepared or have enough equipment to fight adequately. • 11. The Importance Of Nursing Homes Are The Best Places For... With the growth of the aged population, finding the suitable accommodation for the elderly becomes a popular topic of interests. From that, an increasing number of the elderly are sent to nursing homes, the facilities that specialized in aged care and are regarded as the ideal places for old people. However, some question whether nursing homes are truly the best places for the elderly. This essay will argue that there are still some issues that need to be addressed in nursing homes, which may probably even make the elderly s lives worse. In this case, nursing homes are not the best places for the aged people. Firstly, the facilities and staffs of nursing homes are possibly not as adequate as one would like to imagine. One reason that nursing homes are described as the suitable places for the olds is that they provide specialized facilities, doctors, nurses and care recipients to protect the health for the elderly. Australian Aged Care Quality Agency has set some standards for nursing homes and the Standard 2 Health and personal care shows that nursing homes must put efforts on Staff development, Clinical care, Specialized nursing care needs and Medication management. However, the facilities are actually rarely checked to ensure that they meet the standards of basic health and safety (Brodwin, 2014) as well as the percentages of nursing homes that lack adequate staffs to properly care for patients and have been in violation of elderly abuse laws are 91% and 36% respectively ... In the movie and the book the themes are very apparent in the split between social groups which makes the story have the same feeling as the book. In the movie in the book and movie Johnny is abused by his parents. This leads me to believe that Johnny doesn t have the strength to kill Bob Sheldon. Another difference is that in the book is that Johnny in the hospital was on a bed but in the movie Johnny is is on a high tech bed which is built for his injury. There were many different themes expressed throughout the stories, often through figurative language. In The Odyssey, Homer used figurative language to express theme by using different literary devices such as personification and hyperboles. One of the literary devices Homer used to express a theme in the Odyssey is personification. For example, in the story The Cyclops , Homer wrote When the young Dawn with fingertips of rose lit up the world... (Line 252 253). Another way conflict has made the ethnic visibility of muslims portrayed through media is the Jiljab controversy of 2002 (Tarlo 2010). In September of 2002, a 13 year old girl of Bengali origin and her brothers, threatened the head principal of an London high school, for not allowing their sister to wear the hijab, because they said the Shalwar kamiz was not legitimate enough for their sister to express her religious beliefs. This matter was taken to court in 2004 where the brothers and their sister pleaded their case and walked out winners (Tarlo 2010). This controversy attracted major media attention and was featured in newspapers and television documents around the world (Tarlo 2010). This could be seen to exemplify the visibility of muslims in a way that portrays them to be people who actively, publicly and consciously advocate their religious identity to the world (Schmidt 2011) showing that due to the conflict that had risen between a girl, her brothers and the school principal the medias effect portrayed this conflict to the whole world, representing muslims in a light that portrayed them as uncompromising and unreasonable, demanding people, which were at odds with western liberal values (Tarlo 2010) When it comes to ethnic visibility in an urban setting the Hijab at the ... • 16. Role Of Self Disclosure In Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Role of self disclosure in cognitive behaviour therapy Feminist therapists purposefully self disclose their opinions and feelings about such emotionally and politically divisive issues as sexual orientation and nonmonogamous relationships so that clients can decide whether the psychologist will provide unprejudiced support if these issues arise. In cognitive behaviour therapy, where the importance is placed on between session changes, a rational intervention that accelerates such changes can be freely integrated into treatment. In functional analytic psychotherapy, psychologists are encouraged to self disclose the personal impact that clients make on them. By responding to the client s ineffective and effective behaviours within the session, the psychologist or therapist encourages the client s use of adaptive interpersonal behaviours and rejects behaviours that are problematic. Drives of therapeutic self disclosure in cognitive behaviour therapy may contain providing feedback on the interpersonal impact made by the client, enhancing positive expectations and motivation, strengthening the therapeutic bond, normalising the client s reaction, reducing the client s fears, and modelling an effective way of functioning (Burckell et al 2003). Psychoanalytic and Trait Approaches Personality Assessment PSY/250 Psychoanalytic and Trait Approaches Personality Assessment I have always attributed personality as being a culmination of environment first, biology second, and traits, or what my understanding of them was. I was not aware of Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic approach, or the correct definition of the trait theory prior to beginning this class. The psychoanalytic approach to personality defines the origins of personality as being divided in to three parts; the id (unconscious), the superego (preconscious) and the ego (conscious). Each part plays a distinct role in memory, response, desire, decision making, and conscience. With all three parts interacting, conflicting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here, children have to learn control over bodily functions and depending on whether the experience is positive or negative, like behavioral patterns emerge. Freud believed that a negative experience could result in an adult personality that is obsessive, and stubborn. According to Freud, defense mechanisms exist as a way for the ego to deal with things it cannot filter from the anxiety created within the superego and the id. Displacement is a classic example of a defense mechanism. Have you ever had a bad day at work where nothing you did would satisfy your boss? Wanting to tell your boss off or acting on the frustrations or feelings would be detrimental to your job status. Instead of acting on that frustration it stays pent up, and by the time you get home from work you explode at your child, or spouse for some insignificant little infraction. Your taking your aggression out on a person who did not pose a threat to you is displacement. A second defense mechanism is reaction formation. Freud believed that using reaction formation allows us to hide how we feel by acting the exact opposite. A good example would be a person who is extremely outspoken about gay rights. Freud would have no doubt believed that because this person s beliefs were so extreme that this person must be fighting an internal demon; maybe this person was fighting their own secret feelings of attraction for ... The stories always revolve around the men, but what about the women? They should not be ignored even though they are not the feature character of the story. Many of them have significant roles to the storyline, and without them, the play would be quite different. Queen Margaret played an important role in Richard III as a prophesier of the events that were to unfold, and Helena was important to A Midsummer Nights Dream because she was the only one who really thought about the nature of love. Queen Margaret is the old, vehement widow of King Henry VI. She enjoys angrily lurking around the castle and cursing everyone for the dreadful things that have happened to her family. Margaret s wrath exists for good reason. For one thing, Richard s family took the thrown from Queen Margaret s late husband so that Edward IV could be crowned king. A culture is the way in which certain groups behave, think, and what tangible objects they bring value to. The Colombian culture is profoundly influenced by the Spanish culture, but has many distinct factors that allow it to properly function. The first component of culture is symbols. Symbols are anything with significance and value shared by the people in a culture. A symbol most countries value is their national flag. The colors of the Colombian flag each symbolize a characteristic ideal for a strong country. The yellow horizontal stripe is a reference to the wealth in gold Colombia withheld before the arrival of Spaniards. The blue depicts the oceans lining the outer regions of the country. A second interpretation of the flag s blue color is the country s loyalty and consciousness. Lastly, the red reflects the bravery Colombians inherited during their victorious fight for independence as well as a recognition for those who lost their lives (Colombia s National Symbols, 2017). Another national symbol in Colombia is the Coat of Arms. The Coat of Arms is a national symbol of their motto Libertad y Orden which translates to Liberty and Order . The Stages of Psychosocial Development During the first psychosocial stage test back in 1975, Erikson figured that how a mother and father look after their child is a major factor in determining how much trust the child will place in their parents. (1998 11734 016). At this time in life, humans are very dependent, and practically helpless with everything. We have to rely on other people for everything from food, to clothing, to bathroom needs, and in this case, affection. The main issue of this stage is Trust vs. Mistrust . Obviously, if an infant is not getting the proper needs met, they will become unsure of their environment, and probably not trust their parents. Infants require proper development and movement to be helped into the next stage, they require elders for the physical and emotional needs to be met on a constant basis. A healthy outcome of this stage happens when the child develops a real sense of trust and mistrust in themselves, their parents, and their surrounding world. Trust may appear as an issue for interns even before the internship has begun.(1998 11734 016). Erikson theorized that if the parents were to loosely watch after their child, they would have less trust with in their parents. So oppositely he viewed that if they were to pay closer attention and be there if the child was to fall, they would have more trust in the world and their parents.
