Moll Flanders Morality
Sweeping generalizations made against a subgroup of the population have never favored well within a
historical perspective. Countless wars and revolutions were fought to discredit generalizations because
they are often either societal racism, sexism, or other maliciously conceived fallacies. While the
Fortunes and Misfortunes of The Famous Moll Flanders and Company by Daniel Defoe reflects many
of the ideologies upheld by eighteenth century social culture, the book also invokes some startling
theories. The most disturbing and widely respected synecdoche was that members of the middle class
are morally inferior to those in higher classes. While Defoe does allude to the immorality of Great
Britain s middle class, at several points within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an infant, her life path was quite distorted. Moll states the first account that I can recollect, or could
ever learn of myself, was that I had wandered among a crew of those people they call gypsies, a group
of individuals that were widely looked down upon by the general public as thieves and sinners (45). ]
It is important to note, all of the misfortune that were recounted in the former were not at the hand of
Moll herself but instead at her mother s, yet her status in society was lower because of them. In fact,
Moll s lot in life had been damaged long before she could even develop a moral standing. In a lucky
twist of fate, Moll found herself in the care of a local parsonage where she was placed in the care of a
woman who taught her how to make a living for herself as a seamstress. Individuals living in the
middle class during the eighteenth century often had outside pressures placed upon them that kept
their social mobility stagnant; these outside pressures, coupled with societal stereotyping, often lead to
great resentment towards their oppressors. For society to say that Moll was placed in the middle or
lower class because of her inferior virtue is unfounded, and this theme is reflected in Defoe s writing
about Moll s early beginnings.
It is indisputable that Moll s moral standing changes drastically to reflect the stereotypical immorality
of her class, however, after some reflection, it is

How Did Berkeley And Hume Affect The Enlightenment
This week, I will be answering question number two (2) which asks about Berkeley and Hume. How
did these two philosophers effect the progress of the Enlightenment? Is one philosopher more
successful than the other? I will be focusing on Berkeley and Hume s impact on the work of
Enlightenment and Empiricist philosopher John Locke. Berkeley and Hume both had some differing
ideas when compared to those of some of the Enlightenment philosophers. For example, Berkeley
rejected the idea of Locke s distinction between primary and secondary qualities of perception.
According to Berkeley, all perception is secondary. Berkeley also argued that we cannot know
independently existing material objects. Objects or things are nothing more than the ideas we

Sartre s Views On The Moral Choices
Jean Paul Sartre is a French philosopher who makes his claims based on a combination of two
philosophical traditions existentialism and phenomenology. Sartre himself is an atheistic existentialist.
He summarizes his claims regarding existentialism with three words anguish, abandonment, and
despair (25). In this paper, I will talk about Sartre s definition of existentialism, its relation to essence,
Sartre s views on the moral choices and how they relate to art.
Sartre makes the claim that all humans start at the same place. He says we are all thrown into the
world without any preset values/moral attitudes. We come into this world as a clean slate (tabula rasa)
(22). Although we did not come into this world by choice, the one thing we do come with is the
freedom to decide who we want to be and how we want to live our lives. In this sense, even prisoners
are free. Being physically captured doesn t mean being physically captured. You are free to determine
what your physical imprisonment means when you have the freedom to decide what any circumstance
means.
Sartre emphasizes the mantra of existentialism. His slogan is existence precedes essence . Essence is
what makes something what it is. According to Descartes, our essence is our rational mind it makes us
who we are. Sartre argues humans aren t born with an essence they don t start with one. Humans start
by simply existing. At the beginning, there is no internal essence or human nature. Our essence is later

The And Disease Of The Roman Empire
Throughout history the human race has been faced with one key factor that no one civilization has
even been able to beat, not the might of the Roman Byzantine Empire, nor the combined efforts of the
entirety of Europe and their scholars could defeat this recurring foe. Pandemics, from the Greek pan
meaning all, and demos meaning people (Harper Etymonline.com), are these indiscriminate killers
whom care not for your social standing be it wealth, fame, or glory. Humans have contested with
disease ever since the infantile stages of the species, but the ability of it to spread was severely
inhibited by the fact that humans stayed in small groups of 10 30 people at most, giving the virus or
disease severely hampered virulence. It was not till humans began gathering in larger, more permanent
settlements such as the early Classical cities of Athens, Ramses, and Rome, that the issue of sanitation
and disease came into effect. This has not to say that our issues with sanitation and disease prevention
have stopped, rather have they been brought forward into the limelight, many nations around the
world today have issues with age old diseases and give rise to extremely deadly new viruses of their
own. To fully understand the effect of pandemics in history, then one must consider three major
plagues of our recorded history, the first pandemic Plague of Athens , the pivotal Plague of Justinian ,
and the infamous Black Death
The first pandemic known to recorded history was the

What Is The Theme Of Tanjong Rhu
The film Tanjong Rhu by Boo Junfeng is a recount of the notorious arrest of twelve gay men in an
entrapment exercise in 1993. Being a conservative society, Singapore has meted out harsh
punishments against the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) community.
Singaporeans are [also] disallowed from even speaking in public places about homosexual related
issues (Oswin, 2008). This essay not only seeks to analyze this film, but also, use the Gramscian
theory of hegemony to examine the challenges faced by the Singapore state government in promoting
their ideas of a heteronormative family.
Unaware to many, Tanjong Rhu was a well known gay cruising area in Singapore during the 1990s.

Drug Abuse Effects On Teens
Intro More than twenty two million people of age twelve or older use illegal drugs in the U.S.(Drug

health, nor the effects on their mental well being. Drugs are Lame Teens do drugs for many reasons.
Many teens decide to do drugs because they are being pure pressure to do drugs by their friends. Also
if they get invited to parties many people offer them some, and they accept it to fit in a group or with
other people. Also they do it in the streets. Other people just do it for fin or just want to sit down a

drug addict. They might just do it to rebel so they can make their parents mad. Teens sometimes do it
to just be popular is school or social media and just have fun. Other just follow their parents footsteps

Bach Vs Handel Essay
I ask you this: What would are world be like if everyone looked the same, acted the same, and even
had the same interests? It would be a gray place full of nothing but dull blobs that were once people.
Now you see why being different is not only good but important in our society. Even people of the
same talent can have a vast chasm of contradictions between them. Of course, that is why I am here.
To tell you of two great composers, Johannes Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel, and the
lives they led. They both had a taste for music, yet their preferences lay in different styles. They were
raised in good families, but their parents did not have the same visions for their sons. They both had
spirit, but opposite spirits in many ways. Even these two, who are close in what they do and who they
are, have their distinctions. Yet they also have many similarities because they lived in the same time
and were both well known for their careers. To begin with, they were born into somewhat wealthy
families. Bach was more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are both exceptional composers. Filled with the ability to take a few sounds and string it together
in a grand chorus. Bach was more technical in his music. He loved order, and it showed through his
work. Handel was all about freedom and passion. He made his music swirl through the air like a
whirlwind: light and unrestrained. In conclusion, there is interest and boredom. There is gravity and
levity. There is wonder and amusement. And there is power. Handel and Bach. Bach and Handel.
When you think of these two in the same light, you can plainly see that great chasm of contradictions
spanning the void between them. However, you can also see a bridge settled over the huge expanse.
The bridge connects the two and portrays the middle ground. The treaty. The agreement. The oath to
be taken by those who love music. They are different, yet alike in many

Hepatitis B Vaccine
Hepatitis B Vaccine
Hepatitis B is the most common liver infection in the world and is caused by the hepatitis b virus. The
hepatitis b virus enters the body and travels to the liver via the bloodstream. In the liver the virus
attacks the healthy liver cells and then multiplies. The cells create copies of them selves and the
multiplying of the virus cells then triggers a response from the bodies immune system. Most people at
this stage of the virus are unaware the have the virus as there are no symptoms that can be seen or felt.
Hepatitis B can lead to cirrhosis (scaring of the liver), liver cancer or liver failure if not treated quickly
enough. Some signs and symptoms of hepatitis include abdominal pain, dark urine, fever, joint pain,
loss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A dead or watered down version of the disease is injected into your blood stream from a needle and
this will stimulate the bodies immune system to make antibodies that will be able to fight of the
disease. Antibodies will form and these will protect the body from the hepatitis disease if your body
comes into contact with the disease. Your body will remember how to make these antibodies so if you
do come in contact with Hepatitis B later on your body will already know how to fight it off. Other
ways to stop the spread of Hepatitis B include washing your hands thoroughly after any potential
exposure to the virus or its carrier ,avoiding direct contact with blood and other bodily fluids that are
infected with the virus, cleaning up blood spills with a fresh diluted bleach solution as soon as
possible, avoiding sharp objects like razors that have been used by someone else and not sterilized
properly, avoiding illegal drugs and always make sure that needles are sterilized before using them.
The science community is helping to keep the spread of Hepatitis B by developing the vaccines used
and the government is providing the community with a way to stop the spread of hepatitis by giving
theses vaccines to all high school aged children and babies when the have been born. The vaccines
that have been developed to stop hepatitis b are stopping lots of people from getting extremely sick or
ill. Hepatitis can not be spread by touching another person unless bodily fluids are exchanged so it is a
good idea to make sure that when touching another person you where gloves and keep all contact

Essay about The Khmer Rouge
Power and Control: The Khmer Rouge
There are many genocides that people are not aware of. One of them is the attempted genocide carried
out by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge was able to gain power and remain in
control of Cambodia for years without interference because they isolated the country from any foreign
influence. Other countries had no idea what was happening inside Cambodia until years later. The
Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot, wanted to create their own ideal communist society. So how did The
Khmer Rouge gain so much power and control? Some argue that Pol Pot was the only one responsible
for the power and control gained by the Khmer Rouge. On the other hand, others say that the notion of
social hierarchy was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some say that Pol Pot was responsible for the power and control of Cambodia because Pol Pot cut
Cambodia off from the world. He banned foreign and minority languages and attacked the
neighboring countries of Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand in an attempt to regain ancient lost territory
(The life of Pol Pot Cambodia 4). This statement is true because the Khmer Rouge did gain part of
their power by isolating the country, but Pol Pot is not fully responsible for that. There were other
people involved, like Nuon Chea, Ieng Sary, Son Sen and Khieu Samphan all of these people were
also leaders in the Khmer Rouge. Nuon Chea was the second leader in the Khmer Rouge he is known
as The evil genius of the movement (Chandler 1), because he is the one who was in charge of the
prison system. He was one of the one s with a heartless mind, planning tortures and executing
innocent people. There was also Ieng Sary who was the one responsible for the deaths of many
intellectuals who were supposed to be re trained at a camp, but instead were killed (Chandler 2). Sary
was also a cold blooded man who contributed in The Khmer Rouge, killing intellectuals thinking they
were prone to exploit others. Sary is another accomplice of the Khmer Rouge who helped gain power.
Son Sen was the prime minister of the Khmer Rouge he was also in charge of S 21 which was a jail.
Sen was killed in 1997 by Pol Pot for participating in a peace process

Pros And Cons Of Legal Burden Of Proof
According to Murphy on Evidence this was explained as the whole of the evidence, of the truth or
sufficient probability of every essential fact in issue.
There are two types of burdens involved in criminal and civil action. Such as,
Legal Burden (LB) and
Evidential Burden (EB)
In the case of legal burden, the jury decides the matter of the case and when it comes to the criminal
matters the prosecution has the burden to prove. In criminal actions the accused, is considered as an
innocent party and the prosecution should have to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
According to the woolmington principle the burden of proof is lie on the prosecution and till the end
of the trial, the accused (criminal procedure) is presumed to be innocent

The Sixth Extinction Elizabeth Korlbert Summary
The non fiction book that I decided to read was, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by
Elizabeth Kolbert. What led me to picking this book was that it seemed the most interesting out of all
of the non fiction book selections. Since I already knew most of the reasons why animals went extinct,
this book didn t have an impact me. But when I previously learned about animals extinction, I was
impacted because it let me know what happened to dead species species. Examples of this could
include learning about the dinosaurs when I was younger or learning about climate change and
hunting when I was in middle school. There weren t really any emotions that were evoked during or
after the reading. Since this book was a non linear, straight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But, this book has 13 chapters each explaining evidence of extinction, theories, or animals that had
been extinct. Animals that were talked about included the Great Auks and Mammoths. Reasons for the
extinctions were the obvious ones such as hunting and global warming. In a summary, Kolbert
explains the extinctions of a variety of different major animal species that became extinct. She also
explains that if trends in the environment continue that the biggest extinction in history will occur
soon. If global warming, deforestation, and glaciers continue to melt she says that more and more
species will continue to become extinct. She explains how humans need to be more conservative and
careful with what they re doing to prevent extinction. Overall, I did not enjoy reading this book. Since
I knew about most of the information being stated in the book, such as Darwin s theory and global
climate change, it was kind of like listening to a lecture of something that you already know a lot
about. Also, the fact that this book was straight facts and knowledge didn t lead me to liking it either.
It was just throwing so much knowledge at you that it had you wondered what you had just read after
reading just one page. Because of this, the book got confusing and especially boring. Also the book
had no structure and was put into chapters that made the reading more confusing. So in conclusion, I
would not recommend this

The Nature Of Science Vs. Religion
No One Man Can Have All That Power
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath
of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). In Genesis God created humans from his
own likeness from the dust of the ground in H.G Wells The Island of Dr. Moreau, the main character
Dr. Moreau is given the perception of God as he also creates humans. He does the however through
science as he uses vivisection, the live dissection of animals, to convert animals into people we call
beast people. Through this creation process he brainwashes these beast people to have them believe he
is as said in Revelation, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the
End (Revelation 22:13). Wells, a known atheist, pushes the limits of science vs religion; Wells argues
that man s hubris in thinking that science can replace religion will lead to their downfall. Dr. Moreau
creates these beast, makes them follow his set of rules and ultimately is there judge, jury and
executioner if they break it.
Each religion has a distinct set of practices that make the religion unique, for the most part they all
believe in a higher even though in this book it was never formally established as a religion, they also
have a set of rules made by the higher power. The way H.G Wells sets up the island resembles most
Christianity, as they both have monotheistic views and have set of rules and practices that are keys in
order to be a

A Clean, Well Lighted Place reflect Hemingway s views on the loss of faith and hummanity in the
world. He wrote this short story after experiencing the horrors of World War I. Hemingway, like a lot
of other writers during his time, was forever affected by the war. His experiences left hime filled with
doubt. Hemingway constructed a story to express his emotions of emptiness and loss that he felt as a
result of the war. The story includes characters that serve as vessels for his own emotions. He

For the older waitor and the old man, the cafe is their escape from nothingness. The cafe is vibrant and
clean, which has order and clarity. Darkness and chaos are associated with nothingness. The cafe
represents the polar opposite of darkness so it serves as a refuge for those who are trying to escape
emptiness and despair, namely the old man and the older waiter. The older waiter contrasts the cafe
with bars saying that bars are noisy, dark and unpolished (143). He complains that he can t sit at a bar
or even stand before a bar with dignity (144). The noisy unclean bars do not extinguish the despair
like the cafe does. Hemingway also incorporates a recurring motif of lonliness throughout the story.
The old man is deaf, and his wife has died. He is visibly lonely and frequents the cafe to escape or to
temporarily forget his lonliness. The older waiter never actually admits that he is lonely, but he is very
similar to the old man in that he likes to sit in cafes late at night (143 44). Both characters find solace
in sitting in the cafes because it provides an escaape for them. They are able to sit in a peaceful setting
which for them is better than being alone. The older waiter tells the younger one that the cafe provides

The Triangle Of The Bermuda Triangle
Everyone has heard of the scariest place on earth, the bermuda triangle. Since its theoretical existence,
there has been hundreds of cases that have been reported that involved the Bermuda Triangle in one
way or another. The points of the Bermuda triangle are between Miami, Florida, San Juan, Puerto
Rico, and the Mid Atlantic island, Bermuda. The History of this myth has gone back hundreds of
years, dating back all the way to the year 1492, when Christopher Columbus first reported seeing
flames of fire falling out of the sky and into the sea. Columbus reported seeing shines of light and
erratic compass readings. The compass would read Northwest and then change Northeast by 11
degrees on occasion. There are many theories to why all these disappearances happen, including such
as that the lost city of atlantis has superior technology to sink ships and have the ability to hack plane
radio and compass to basically leave a pilot lost at sea. There are also paranormal theories such as,
extraterrestrials that will abduct ships or planes at sea. They also believe the Triangle could possibly
be an anomaly of space and time. A possible vortex that takes planes or ships to different times, or
even different dimensions. There has been sea monsters and big unidentified fish also reported living
in the water in the bermuda triangle. This could be quite possible considering only 95 percent of all
water in the world has been explored. Dec 5th, 1948, Flight 19 took off at the Naval Air

Evolutionary Game Theory ( Egt )
Evolutionary Game Theory (EGT) is a new field of study that combines the principles of game theory,
biology, evolution and non linear dynamics. Unlike game theory that studies and analyzes a rational
behavior based on the actions of others, evolutionary game theory analysis is based on settings in
which an individual is mainly not reasonable and even something cannot explicitly make decisions.
An individual is given a strategy rather than choosing it. EGT will then present which forms of
behaviors will persist in the population and which will be driven out.
John Maynard Smith and G. R. Price first expressed the idea of evolutionary game theory to explain
biological phenomena by observing the fitness of an organism based on the ... Show more content on

Each population is then partitioned into groups.
Agent i has population groups: Ei1, Ei2, ..., Eik Individuals in a group Eij would all play the same
strategy Si.
Members of the populations will play against each other randomly. A group of individuals belonging
to the same sub population that performs the best would grow and the others will shrink. This
performance will be repeated indefinitely. Ideally, the evolution will lead to an idea of a stable state
for a population.
s1, ..., sn ∈ S are the pure strategies available. We define the column vector x to represent the
probabilities of playing strategy si. A represents the payoff matrix. A player using strategy x against an
opponent using strategy y will have the payoff xTAy
3. Evolutionary Stable Strategies
The idea of Nash Equilibrium in EGT is represented by an evolutionary stable strategy (ESS). If the
evolution of a population converges to this stable state, then it will remain there. Given a whole
population using strategy S that is evolutionarily stable, any small group of invaders using a different
strategy T will eventually shrink and fade over multiple generations. This group of invaders will have
strictly lower fitness than the initial population. In order for S to be evolutionarily stable, the payoff to
using this strategy S against the same strategy S played by others must be at least as large as the

Comparing The Domino Theory And The Spread Of Communism

Domino Theory, and The Spread of Communism Communism, as defined by Dictionary.com, a theory
or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership
being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. In the time leading up to the actual start of
the Vietnam War, America was going through what is known as the Second Red Scare, which is the
fear of a communist America. Many americans fear of communism also led them to look towards
Southeast Asia and the spread of communism there. This where the concept of Domino Theory comes
in, which was the belief that if left unchecked, communism would spread and eventually consume all

it, many Americans were outraged by what they saw and took up sides either for or against the war.
For the first time, many that came back from the war were treated as less than human for what had

Norms Are The Expectations, Or Rules Of Behavior
Norms are the expectations, or rules of behavior that develop to reflect and enforce values. A norm
violation is when a person goes against a certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When
going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to one s society or
their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men
and women have the freedom to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms,
feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. In the Muslim culture when a
women reaches puberty no part of her body should remain uncovered except the face and the hand up
to the wrist joint. If the Muslim woman wore shorts and a t shirt it would be considered a violation of
a norm. But because this violation differs from our American Society it wouldn t be considered weird
or strange to wear shorts and a tee.
The norm violation i preformed was the invasion of privacy. People are used to being in a bubble,
having a couple feet of space among themselves and strangers. So what i did was go to my local

Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided

Early Junior Year Research Paper
Early junior year was a very rough time for me when it comes to the gradebook. The first semester of
the 2016 2017 year I ended up with two F s, two D s, a B+ and a C , which was very, very bad. I
realized this was not what I was capable of and it was not anywhere near my best work. My parents
were disappointed with my actions. It was instilled in me at a young age by my parents that school
ALWAYS comes first. My theater director who taught me all throughout high school was disappointed
in me, and my soccer coach was disappointed in me.
As my dad looked at my grades for the first time his face was overcome with the purest form of
disbelief and frustration and from that moment I know it was over. He pulled me from the Fall musical
and the soccer team that day. This immediately made me realize that my actions had consequences,
and in this case, big ones. I was enrolled in dual credit classes at IVY Tech. We could go there and the

Art Flourishes In Art
1. Under what conditions does art flourish in a civilization? Or decline? Art flourishes in a civilization
when people communicate complicated ideas and emotions used to create pieces. Art changes with
society. In Egyptian times, they built pyramids that were like monuments and had their own artistic
style that was represented by hieroglyphics and human figures made of stone. This was the Egyptians
mark in time. In our modern day society, we have buildings, paintings, and statues that all represent
the present. Things like politics or natural disasters happening to us currently can help art flourish with
expression towards these things. We have political cartoons being created to show the outrage within
the political world. There are pieces that make history and remind us of something devastating like a
hurricane or earthquake that destroyed cities and took lives. I think art flourishes in both devastating
and uplifting times. 2. Is it important to know why artists created works? Learning why artists created
works is important because it can communicate different ideas and emotions that we ourselves may
not have understood before learning about a piece of art. Usually we first interpret art ourselves until
studying up on what the piece means to the creator. No one really knows the exact thoughts and ideas
an artist was thinking while creating a piece of artwork, so learning about different pieces gives people
a better understanding of what the art really means and why it

Herodotus The Histories
The Histories is a book written by Herodotus during the 5th century BC and is one that is very useful
in the study of history. Herodotus himself was and still called the Father of History as it is believed
that he is the first to write down histories. A historian from 400 years after Herodotus, Dionysius, had
stated that Herodotus chose not to write down the history of a single city or nation, but to put together
many, varied events of Europe and Asia in a single comprehensive work . The book is useful in the
sense that the level of detail present and Herodotus himself included his insight on the events to give
modern historians an idea about the events. These were evident with his description of Ancient Egypt
and his account of the Battle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Great Pyramids were built by slaves under the rule of Cheops, according to the priests that
Herodotus encountered. Cheops had closed all the temples and used slaves for his own advantage.
Some of the slaves were forced to drag blocks of stones from the Arabian hills to the Nile, where
would then be ferried across and other slaves would come and take over and drag the blocks to the
Libyan hills. As Herodotus had said, they worked by a hundred thousand men at a time, for each three
months continually . This went on for twenty years. However, modern science proves this to be
impossible or extremely hard to achieve when taking in account the size of the pyramid. According to
Herodotus, the pyramid was five furlongs in length, sixty feet wide and forty eight feet high at its
highest point . The real size of the pyramid is around 750 feet for the sides and 480 feet high. This
measurement differs greatly from Herodotus and creates suspicion on reliability of Herodotus writing
and therefore would not be useful in the study of

The Importance Of Standing Up And Face Your Beliefs
Stand up and face your fears, or they will defeat you, once said LL Cool J. Unequivocally, this is
extremely accurate, and one can name many events that pertain to this topic. Personally, I believe that
it is important to speak your beliefs and share your opinions. One reason is that many opportunities
are lost is due to the fact that people choose not to speak up. Many avoid speaking up because of peer
pressure and the desire of fitting in. They are fearful of being judged if they choose or believe the
wrong thing. At times, the average population thinks it is better to keep quiet; although, in reality, it
can bring significant consequences by not communicating. It does take courage to speak up, but half if
not most of the time it leads to positive outcomes. It is imperative to stand for your beliefs because it
can make a difference whether it is minute or substantial. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By standing up for ourselves and sharing our opinions, we also build up self confidence. While
building up our inner strength, we motivate other people to speak up and not be as afraid to stand up
for what they believe in. It builds character in you and others around you. After one person expresses
their beliefs, it happens to rub off on others and has a domino effect. Once an abundance of
individuals share their opinion on a certain topic, they can take a vote and see what the majority
wants. However, if no one were to take a vote on what they believe is better, then we would remain in
the same position we started with. We would never progress, and our world would be easily

End Of Life Care Reflection
Self Reflection on End of Life Care My perceptions have changed dramatically since the Clinical 1
rotation. I have noticed that the minute I walk into my patient s room, I start to collect data. I notice if
they are breathing normal, what their skin looks like, what their cognition level is, and what
equipment they have in their room. I have started to connect the puzzle pieces of the patient s health,
rather than just feeling like I have a bunch of random information. My perception of people has
continued to stay the same from Clinical 1. I continue to have an interest in learning about patients and
believe that they also have something to teach us. I have learned so much from the patients and it is

The Hour Shifts For Nurses
Introduction
For the past 20 years, 12 hour shifts for nurses have been the norm. For hospitals and other medical
facilities, scheduling two 12 hour shifts is much more time efficient than scheduling three 8 hour
shifts, and less time is spent handing off patients (Trinkoff, et al., 2011, p. 1). Ideally, more time is
spent focusing on patient care. According to a 2012 brochure from the Department of Veteran Affairs,
VA nurses are able to pick between having a 12 hour shift, or a shorter shift (Become a Nurse, p. 7),
yet most nurses choose to work 12 hour shifts regardless of that choice. Is this choice responsible and
safe for our veterans? Is there a greater risk for error or injury for our US military veterans when under

52). If nurses are working longer shifts, are they still able to demonstrate any of the carative factors in
Watson s Theory? Would a nurse be able to demonstrate the caring moment with a patient if the nurse
is on the twelveth hour of the shift?
Proposal
The objective, for hospitals should be to switch from 12 hour shifts to 8 hour shifts over the next 5
years. During the transitional years, limit the consecutive days that a nurse may work while working
12 hour shifts. Studies show that when nurses work 12 hour shifts more than 2 days in a row, they are
more likely to suffer from burn out (Wisetborisut, Angkurawaranon, Jiraporncharoen, Uaphanthasath,
Wiwantanadate, 2014, p. 279). If a hospital does decide to keep 12 hour shifts, design schedules so
that there are no more than 2 consecutive days in which a nurse is working 12 hour shifts. Hospitals
should also make it mandatory to take the next day off after working a 16 hour shift. Another
alternative would be after working one 16 hour shift, have the nurse take mandatory time off for no
less than sixteen hours following the 16 hour shift. This way the nurse has the opportunity to get an
adequate amount of rest before having to come in and work another shift.
There are several reasons why the nurse should want to move to a shorter shift. First is the benefit of
being able to deliver better

Racial Discrimination Act 1999
The Act established a National Native Title Tribunal to carry out many of the functions identified in
the objectives of the Act, including the registration of applications for determinations, the mediation of
agreements and the facilitation of negotiations over future dealings in land. In the case of most future
dealings (called future acts), native title holders were to be given the same rights as freehold title
holders. In relation to other acts, such as mining proposals, the Act guaranteed a right to negotiate over
the proposal. (Strelein, 2015)
The validation of past acts was a compromise for Indigenous peoples. These included acts that would

Research Paper ISIS and many terrorist groups have been recently attacking at will throughout the
entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently.
One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war with terrorist
groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is to not go to war with
terrorist groups or ISIS just yet. Within the past couple of years, the terrorist group of ISIS has made
them well known and kept the world into a state of fear and terror when it comes to terrorist attacks.
One of the biggest controversial arguments currently has to do with the United States going to war
with the terrorist group of ISIS. I believe that the United States shouldn t go to war with ISIS, or just
not yet. I believe that if they decide to fight a ground war with ISIS or these certain terrorist groups,
they will be blindly moving into their territory. The last time that the United States decided to rush
into a blind fight, not knowing what was coming, they got taken down in the war in Vietnam. If the
United States dies decide to fight in these ground wars against the terrorist groups they will not know
what is coming and will have to blindly fight at risk of losing a lot of soldiers in the end of the war.
Another reason that the United States should not go to war with ISIS in general is

Relationship Between God And Israel
TB 133 140 The author dives into chapter six by addressing the prophetic themes, covenant, judgment
and redemption. According to the author all the prophets have a special relationship between God and
Israel. They all share a common theme as well. Themes include announcement of judgment on Israel,
punishment, announcement of restoration after a rebellion and comparisons of Israel. The author also
points out what Israel is the main focus throughout the old testament. God choose Israel and entered
into a covenant so his expectations are high compared to other nations living at that time. Which is
why intense images being express the relationship between God and Israel. Such images include
parent child, husband wife, church bride, shepherd flock, owner vineyard and potter clay. When Israel
rebels against God Israel is compared to a prostitute or camel. However, even when Israel is beyond
redemption, the chosen prophets beg for repentance from the nation of Israel. More common is the
image of people turning away from God even when presented salvation. The author presents the
prophetic books in canonical order. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the Scroll of the Twelve are
presented to the reader providing an introduction of each book. According to the author the book of
Isaiah is a view into the school of prophecy descending from the great eighth century. Additionally,
evidence has surfaced confirming Isaiah did not write the entire book himself but rather is a complied

B-2 Spirit Essay
The Northrop (later Northrop Grumman) B 2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American
heavy penetration strategic bomber, featuring low observable stealth technology designed for
penetrating dense anti aircraft defenses; it is a flying wing design with a crew of two.[1][4] The
bomber can deploy both conventional and thermonuclear weapons, such as eighty 500 lb (230 kg)
class (Mk 82) JDAM Global Positioning System guided bombs, or sixteen 2,400 lb (1,100 kg) B83
nuclear bombs. The B 2 is the only acknowledged aircraft that can carry large air to surface standoff
weapons in a stealth configuration.

Congress and among the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The winding down of the Cold War in the latter portion
of the 1980s dramatically reduced the need for the aircraft, which was designed with the intention of
penetrating Soviet airspace and attacking high value targets. During the late 1980s and 1990s,
Congress slashed plans to purchase 132 bombers to 21. In 2008, a B 2 was destroyed in a crash shortly
after takeoff, though the crew ejected safely.[5] A total of 20 B 2s remain in service with the United
States Air Force, which plans to operate the B 2 until 2058.[6]
The B 2 is capable of all altitude attack missions up to 50,000 feet (15,000 m), with a range of more
than 6,000 nautical miles (6,900 mi; 11,000 km) on internal fuel and over 10,000 nautical miles
(12,000 mi; 19,000 km) with one midair refueling. It entered service in 1997 as the second aircraft
designed to have advanced stealth technology after the Lockheed F 117 Nighthawk attack aircraft.
Though designed originally as primarily a nuclear bomber, the B 2 was first used in combat, dropping
conventional, non nuclear ordnance in the Kosovo War in 1999. It later served in Iraq and

The author utilized setting expertly as he casually introduces the fact that the apartment is on the
eleventh floor of a New York apartment building during the first few paragraphs of the story. The
scene is further set when the contrast between the warmth in the apartment and the coldness of the
ledge is portrayed when his wife leaves for the movies. An additional contrast in setting is created as
he will be working, and later be stuck on the cold ledge, fighting for his life, while his wife is relaxing
in the comfort of the theatre. The author utilizes a narrator with an omniscient point of view. This
allows the reader to get an insight into the thoughts and feelings of Tom. The use of this type of
narrator also allows the author to control what and how much is revealed to the reader in building
suspense. The point of view used influences the effectiveness of suspense as the narrator reveals the
various thoughts and feelings of Tom at the correct point in the development of the story to keep the
reader absorbed by the developments. The narrator s perspective affects your understanding of the
story. The tone in this story is seemingly neutral and factual, but on closer assessment it becomes clear
that the author, Jack Finney, portrays a sympathetic view towards the character Tom Benecke. The
way the narrator is telling the story results in a lot of suspense. Will Tom go out on the ledge? Will he
be able to retrieve the yellow paper? Will he be able to stay on

Philosophers During The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment philosophers were some of the smartest thinkers who changed the way people
think during the 16th and 17th century. The philosophers changed the way we live and think today.
These discussions helped shape the capitalistic, democratic world in which we live in today. There
were numerous great philosophers during this time period that taught us many different methods of
teaching and understanding new observations.
John Locke was a philosopher who was born in England 1632. He lived in England during both the
English civil war and the Glorious Revolution. Locke believed that all men are naturally in a state of
perfect freedom within the bounds of law of nature. He believed that only the middle and upper class

He adopted his pen name and became a profile writer, eventually composing poems, novels, essays,
plays , and over 20,000 personal letters. The right to religion was Voltaire s main idea about religion in
society. John Locke and Voltaire both had two very similar ideas about how people have the right to
choose what they want to do and that people are naturally free.
Adam Smith was born June, 1723 in a place called Kirkcaldy in The United Kingdom. Smith was a
supporter in economic decision making. He believed that individual work benefits themselves more
than a whole group would. He thinks that if everyone worked as an individual than the world would be
better. By pursuing his own interest he frequently promotes that of the society more than when he
really intends to promote it. Smith later died in on June, 19 1790 in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Mary Wollstonecraft was a British author who was born on April, 27 in a little town called Spitalfield.
Wollstonecraft was a novelist who wrote a history of the French Revolution, a travel journal, and a
children s book in addition to A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. She believes that women are
born with the same equal abilities as men. Her main idea is that all women should have equal
education. Wollstonecraft, Locke, Smith, And Voltaire all think that the main idea is equality of the
individuals. Make them free, and they will quickly become wise and

The Children Burial Of Ancient Egypt
The children burial in ancient Egypt:
Ironically, the oldest human grave so far discovered in Egypt is that of a child. The grave was
discovered in 1994 at Taramsa Hill (near Qena in Upper Egypt, located near the modern site of the
temple of Hathor at Dendara). It contained the skeleton of a child between 8 and 10 years, buried
about 55,000 years ago (Middle Paleolithic age). The child found sitting against the wall of a shallow
pit, its face skyward, legs pulled up, left arm on its hip and right arm behind its back (Pl. 1).
The pre dynastic period provided us with cemeteries intended for the children. This was found at
Adaima (8 km south of Esna) precisely the eastern cemetery that contains 60 graves. The southern part
of this cemetery contained only children s graves dating to the Naqada period (4th millennium BC).
The percentage of the children graves in this cemetery is 87 %. Most of the dead children varied in
age from six months to 9 years. However, most of the burials belonged to children from 0 to 4 years.
The children were either placed in pottery jars (pl. 2) or buried in pits (Pl. 3 4). They were buried in a
crouching position. It seems that the child mortality here related to a tuberculosis epidemic.
Pre dynastic children burials (4th millennium BC) were found at Riqqa (site between Lisht and
Medum at El Fayoum) in an area called Gerzeh, where 51 burials of infants and children were found
among a total of 249 intact burials. 12 children burial among 43

Pro Self Driving Essay
Hello I m your host Ben Bush and today we will be discussing the pro/ con issues of the self driving
car. First off this is a new concept and just think, would you trust a car that drives without human
control? It s a strange question but with companies like Uber using these self driving cars for their
business the concept of self driving cars is no longer just an idea for the future, it s quite apparent that
it s a current event. Cons, most likely the more important part of this issue is the safety of the
passengers and other drivers. These cars have been known to cut off busses and make incomplete
stops at stop signs. The safety of these cars is often criticized but even if they do make a few mistakes
is it better than the average human driving?

  • 2. Moll Flanders Morality Sweeping generalizations made against a subgroup of the population have never favored well within a historical perspective. Countless wars and revolutions were fought to discredit generalizations because they are often either societal racism, sexism, or other maliciously conceived fallacies. While the Fortunes and Misfortunes of The Famous Moll Flanders and Company by Daniel Defoe reflects many of the ideologies upheld by eighteenth century social culture, the book also invokes some startling theories. The most disturbing and widely respected synecdoche was that members of the middle class are morally inferior to those in higher classes. While Defoe does allude to the immorality of Great Britain s middle class, at several points within the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an infant, her life path was quite distorted. Moll states the first account that I can recollect, or could ever learn of myself, was that I had wandered among a crew of those people they call gypsies, a group of individuals that were widely looked down upon by the general public as thieves and sinners (45). ] It is important to note, all of the misfortune that were recounted in the former were not at the hand of Moll herself but instead at her mother s, yet her status in society was lower because of them. In fact, Moll s lot in life had been damaged long before she could even develop a moral standing. In a lucky twist of fate, Moll found herself in the care of a local parsonage where she was placed in the care of a woman who taught her how to make a living for herself as a seamstress. Individuals living in the middle class during the eighteenth century often had outside pressures placed upon them that kept their social mobility stagnant; these outside pressures, coupled with societal stereotyping, often lead to great resentment towards their oppressors. For society to say that Moll was placed in the middle or lower class because of her inferior virtue is unfounded, and this theme is reflected in Defoe s writing about Moll s early beginnings. It is indisputable that Moll s moral standing changes drastically to reflect the stereotypical immorality of her class, however, after some reflection, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Did Berkeley And Hume Affect The Enlightenment This week, I will be answering question number two (2) which asks about Berkeley and Hume. How did these two philosophers effect the progress of the Enlightenment? Is one philosopher more successful than the other? I will be focusing on Berkeley and Hume s impact on the work of Enlightenment and Empiricist philosopher John Locke. Berkeley and Hume both had some differing ideas when compared to those of some of the Enlightenment philosophers. For example, Berkeley rejected the idea of Locke s distinction between primary and secondary qualities of perception. According to Berkeley, all perception is secondary. Berkeley also argued that we cannot know independently existing material objects. Objects or things are nothing more than the ideas we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Sartre s Views On The Moral Choices Jean Paul Sartre is a French philosopher who makes his claims based on a combination of two philosophical traditions existentialism and phenomenology. Sartre himself is an atheistic existentialist. He summarizes his claims regarding existentialism with three words anguish, abandonment, and despair (25). In this paper, I will talk about Sartre s definition of existentialism, its relation to essence, Sartre s views on the moral choices and how they relate to art. Sartre makes the claim that all humans start at the same place. He says we are all thrown into the world without any preset values/moral attitudes. We come into this world as a clean slate (tabula rasa) (22). Although we did not come into this world by choice, the one thing we do come with is the freedom to decide who we want to be and how we want to live our lives. In this sense, even prisoners are free. Being physically captured doesn t mean being physically captured. You are free to determine what your physical imprisonment means when you have the freedom to decide what any circumstance means. Sartre emphasizes the mantra of existentialism. His slogan is existence precedes essence . Essence is what makes something what it is. According to Descartes, our essence is our rational mind it makes us who we are. Sartre argues humans aren t born with an essence they don t start with one. Humans start by simply existing. At the beginning, there is no internal essence or human nature. Our essence is later defined by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The And Disease Of The Roman Empire Throughout history the human race has been faced with one key factor that no one civilization has even been able to beat, not the might of the Roman Byzantine Empire, nor the combined efforts of the entirety of Europe and their scholars could defeat this recurring foe. Pandemics, from the Greek pan meaning all, and demos meaning people (Harper Etymonline.com), are these indiscriminate killers whom care not for your social standing be it wealth, fame, or glory. Humans have contested with disease ever since the infantile stages of the species, but the ability of it to spread was severely inhibited by the fact that humans stayed in small groups of 10 30 people at most, giving the virus or disease severely hampered virulence. It was not till humans began gathering in larger, more permanent settlements such as the early Classical cities of Athens, Ramses, and Rome, that the issue of sanitation and disease came into effect. This has not to say that our issues with sanitation and disease prevention have stopped, rather have they been brought forward into the limelight, many nations around the world today have issues with age old diseases and give rise to extremely deadly new viruses of their own. To fully understand the effect of pandemics in history, then one must consider three major plagues of our recorded history, the first pandemic Plague of Athens , the pivotal Plague of Justinian , and the infamous Black Death The first pandemic known to recorded history was the ... • 6. What Is The Theme Of Tanjong Rhu The film Tanjong Rhu by Boo Junfeng is a recount of the notorious arrest of twelve gay men in an entrapment exercise in 1993. Being a conservative society, Singapore has meted out harsh punishments against the Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender (LGBT) community. Singaporeans are [also] disallowed from even speaking in public places about homosexual related issues (Oswin, 2008). This essay not only seeks to analyze this film, but also, use the Gramscian theory of hegemony to examine the challenges faced by the Singapore state government in promoting their ideas of a heteronormative family. • 8. Bach Vs Handel Essay I ask you this: What would are world be like if everyone looked the same, acted the same, and even had the same interests? It would be a gray place full of nothing but dull blobs that were once people. Now you see why being different is not only good but important in our society. Even people of the same talent can have a vast chasm of contradictions between them. Of course, that is why I am here. To tell you of two great composers, Johannes Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel, and the lives they led. They both had a taste for music, yet their preferences lay in different styles. They were raised in good families, but their parents did not have the same visions for their sons. They both had spirit, but opposite spirits in many ways. Even these two, who are close in what they do and who they are, have their distinctions. Yet they also have many similarities because they lived in the same time and were both well known for their careers. To begin with, they were born into somewhat wealthy families. Bach was more ... Bach was more technical in his music. He loved order, and it showed through his work. Handel was all about freedom and passion. He made his music swirl through the air like a whirlwind: light and unrestrained. In conclusion, there is interest and boredom. There is gravity and levity. There is wonder and amusement. And there is power. Handel and Bach. Bach and Handel. When you think of these two in the same light, you can plainly see that great chasm of contradictions spanning the void between them. However, you can also see a bridge settled over the huge expanse. The bridge connects the two and portrays the middle ground. The treaty. The agreement. The oath to be taken by those who love music. The hepatitis b virus enters the body and travels to the liver via the bloodstream. In the liver the virus attacks the healthy liver cells and then multiplies. The cells create copies of them selves and the multiplying of the virus cells then triggers a response from the bodies immune system. Most people at this stage of the virus are unaware the have the virus as there are no symptoms that can be seen or felt. A dead or watered down version of the disease is injected into your blood stream from a needle and this will stimulate the bodies immune system to make antibodies that will be able to fight of the disease. Antibodies will form and these will protect the body from the hepatitis disease if your body comes into contact with the disease. Your body will remember how to make these antibodies so if you do come in contact with Hepatitis B later on your body will already know how to fight it off. Other ways to stop the spread of Hepatitis B include washing your hands thoroughly after any potential exposure to the virus or its carrier ,avoiding direct contact with blood and other bodily fluids that are infected with the virus, cleaning up blood spills with a fresh diluted bleach solution as soon as possible, avoiding sharp objects like razors that have been used by someone else and not sterilized properly, avoiding illegal drugs and always make sure that needles are sterilized before using them. One of them is the attempted genocide carried out by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge was able to gain power and remain in control of Cambodia for years without interference because they isolated the country from any foreign influence. Other countries had no idea what was happening inside Cambodia until years later. The Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot, wanted to create their own ideal communist society. So how did The Khmer Rouge gain so much power and control? Some argue that Pol Pot was the only one responsible for the power and control gained by the Khmer Rouge. Some say that Pol Pot was responsible for the power and control of Cambodia because Pol Pot cut Cambodia off from the world. He banned foreign and minority languages and attacked the neighboring countries of Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand in an attempt to regain ancient lost territory (The life of Pol Pot Cambodia 4). This statement is true because the Khmer Rouge did gain part of their power by isolating the country, but Pol Pot is not fully responsible for that. There were other people involved, like Nuon Chea, Ieng Sary, Son Sen and Khieu Samphan all of these people were also leaders in the Khmer Rouge. Nuon Chea was the second leader in the Khmer Rouge he is known as The evil genius of the movement (Chandler 1), because he is the one who was in charge of the prison system. He was one of the one s with a heartless mind, planning tortures and executing innocent people. There was also Ieng Sary who was the one responsible for the deaths of many intellectuals who were supposed to be re trained at a camp, but instead were killed (Chandler 2). Sary was also a cold blooded man who contributed in The Khmer Rouge, killing intellectuals thinking they were prone to exploit others. • 12. The Sixth Extinction Elizabeth Korlbert Summary The non fiction book that I decided to read was, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert. What led me to picking this book was that it seemed the most interesting out of all of the non fiction book selections. Since I already knew most of the reasons why animals went extinct, this book didn t have an impact me. But when I previously learned about animals extinction, I was impacted because it let me know what happened to dead species species. Examples of this could include learning about the dinosaurs when I was younger or learning about climate change and hunting when I was in middle school. There weren t really any emotions that were evoked during or after the reading. Since this book was a non linear, straight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, this book has 13 chapters each explaining evidence of extinction, theories, or animals that had been extinct. Animals that were talked about included the Great Auks and Mammoths. Reasons for the extinctions were the obvious ones such as hunting and global warming. In a summary, Kolbert explains the extinctions of a variety of different major animal species that became extinct. She also explains that if trends in the environment continue that the biggest extinction in history will occur soon. If global warming, deforestation, and glaciers continue to melt she says that more and more species will continue to become extinct. She explains how humans need to be more conservative and careful with what they re doing to prevent extinction. Overall, I did not enjoy reading this book. Since I knew about most of the information being stated in the book, such as Darwin s theory and global climate change, it was kind of like listening to a lecture of something that you already know a lot about. Also, the fact that this book was straight facts and knowledge didn t lead me to liking it either. It was just throwing so much knowledge at you that it had you wondered what you had just read after reading just one page. Because of this, the book got confusing and especially boring. Also the book had no structure and was put into chapters that made the reading more confusing. So in conclusion, I would not recommend this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Nature Of Science Vs. Religion No One Man Can Have All That Power Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). In Genesis God created humans from his own likeness from the dust of the ground in H.G Wells The Island of Dr. Moreau, the main character Dr. Moreau is given the perception of God as he also creates humans. He does the however through science as he uses vivisection, the live dissection of animals, to convert animals into people we call beast people. Through this creation process he brainwashes these beast people to have them believe he is as said in Revelation, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). Wells, a known atheist, pushes the limits of science vs religion; Wells argues that man s hubris in thinking that science can replace religion will lead to their downfall. Dr. Moreau creates these beast, makes them follow his set of rules and ultimately is there judge, jury and executioner if they break it. Each religion has a distinct set of practices that make the religion unique, for the most part they all believe in a higher even though in this book it was never formally established as a religion, they also have a set of rules made by the higher power. The way H.G Wells sets up the island resembles most Christianity, as they both have monotheistic views and have set of rules and practices that are keys in order to be a ... He wrote this short story after experiencing the horrors of World War I. Hemingway, like a lot of other writers during his time, was forever affected by the war. His experiences left hime filled with doubt. Hemingway constructed a story to express his emotions of emptiness and loss that he felt as a result of the war. The story includes characters that serve as vessels for his own emotions. For the older waitor and the old man, the cafe is their escape from nothingness. The cafe is vibrant and clean, which has order and clarity. Darkness and chaos are associated with nothingness. The cafe represents the polar opposite of darkness so it serves as a refuge for those who are trying to escape emptiness and despair, namely the old man and the older waiter. The older waiter contrasts the cafe with bars saying that bars are noisy, dark and unpolished (143). He complains that he can t sit at a bar or even stand before a bar with dignity (144). The noisy unclean bars do not extinguish the despair like the cafe does. Hemingway also incorporates a recurring motif of lonliness throughout the story. The old man is deaf, and his wife has died. He is visibly lonely and frequents the cafe to escape or to temporarily forget his lonliness. The older waiter never actually admits that he is lonely, but he is very similar to the old man in that he likes to sit in cafes late at night (143 44). Both characters find solace in sitting in the cafes because it provides an escaape for them. They are able to sit in a peaceful setting which for them is better than being alone. The older waiter tells the younger one that the cafe provides for all those [people] that need a light for the night (144). • 15. The Triangle Of The Bermuda Triangle Everyone has heard of the scariest place on earth, the bermuda triangle. Since its theoretical existence, there has been hundreds of cases that have been reported that involved the Bermuda Triangle in one way or another. The points of the Bermuda triangle are between Miami, Florida, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the Mid Atlantic island, Bermuda. The History of this myth has gone back hundreds of years, dating back all the way to the year 1492, when Christopher Columbus first reported seeing flames of fire falling out of the sky and into the sea. Columbus reported seeing shines of light and erratic compass readings. The compass would read Northwest and then change Northeast by 11 degrees on occasion. There are many theories to why all these disappearances happen, including such as that the lost city of atlantis has superior technology to sink ships and have the ability to hack plane radio and compass to basically leave a pilot lost at sea. There are also paranormal theories such as, extraterrestrials that will abduct ships or planes at sea. They also believe the Triangle could possibly be an anomaly of space and time. A possible vortex that takes planes or ships to different times, or even different dimensions. There has been sea monsters and big unidentified fish also reported living in the water in the bermuda triangle. This could be quite possible considering only 95 percent of all water in the world has been explored. Dec 5th, 1948, Flight 19 took off at the Naval Air ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unlike game theory that studies and analyzes a rational behavior based on the actions of others, evolutionary game theory analysis is based on settings in which an individual is mainly not reasonable and even something cannot explicitly make decisions. An individual is given a strategy rather than choosing it. EGT will then present which forms of behaviors will persist in the population and which will be driven out. John Maynard Smith and G. R. A norm violation is when a person goes against a certain way that culture and society expects one to act. When going against the norm it means that you are doing something that is not acceptable to one s society or their culture. Normative behavior is expected to be in every culture. For example, in our society men and women have the freedom to wear whatever they please, we are allowed to show our legs, arms, feet etc. because its an expression of who we are and what we like. In the Muslim culture when a women reaches puberty no part of her body should remain uncovered except the face and the hand up to the wrist joint. Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided to keep Australia s AAA credit rating in August this year in the belief that it will be able to tough through a shaky economic environment in future. There were concerns that the credit rating would be lowered, as government debt is expected to rise above 40%, and the terms of trade has fallen, creating a larger CAD, and in turn NFD. However, they are confident in Australia s ability to repay at around 4.5% of government revenues, with growth in some sectors, and GDP expected to grow, so the debt burden sits quite comfortably with similarly rated economies. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016 09 06/gdp likely to push higher as government spending outweighs/7819416 GDP likely to push higher as government spending outweighs disappointing trade result Trade contribution to GDP has been disappointing, but government spending at 20.4BN in the June quarter encouraged JP Morgan to raise GDP forecast to 0.6%, leaving annual GDP growth at a steady 3.4%. • 21. Art Flourishes In Art 1. Under what conditions does art flourish in a civilization? Or decline? Art flourishes in a civilization when people communicate complicated ideas and emotions used to create pieces. Art changes with society. In Egyptian times, they built pyramids that were like monuments and had their own artistic style that was represented by hieroglyphics and human figures made of stone. This was the Egyptians mark in time. In our modern day society, we have buildings, paintings, and statues that all represent the present. Things like politics or natural disasters happening to us currently can help art flourish with expression towards these things. We have political cartoons being created to show the outrage within the political world. There are pieces that make history and remind us of something devastating like a hurricane or earthquake that destroyed cities and took lives. I think art flourishes in both devastating and uplifting times. 2. Is it important to know why artists created works? Learning why artists created works is important because it can communicate different ideas and emotions that we ourselves may not have understood before learning about a piece of art. Usually we first interpret art ourselves until studying up on what the piece means to the creator. No one really knows the exact thoughts and ideas an artist was thinking while creating a piece of artwork, so learning about different pieces gives people a better understanding of what the art really means and why it ... Unequivocally, this is extremely accurate, and one can name many events that pertain to this topic. Personally, I believe that it is important to speak your beliefs and share your opinions. One reason is that many opportunities are lost is due to the fact that people choose not to speak up. Many avoid speaking up because of peer pressure and the desire of fitting in. They are fearful of being judged if they choose or believe the wrong thing. At times, the average population thinks it is better to keep quiet; although, in reality, it can bring significant consequences by not communicating. Ideally, more time is spent focusing on patient care. According to a 2012 brochure from the Department of Veteran Affairs, VA nurses are able to pick between having a 12 hour shift, or a shorter shift (Become a Nurse, p. 7), yet most nurses choose to work 12 hour shifts regardless of that choice. Would a nurse be able to demonstrate the caring moment with a patient if the nurse is on the twelveth hour of the shift? Proposal The objective, for hospitals should be to switch from 12 hour shifts to 8 hour shifts over the next 5 years. During the transitional years, limit the consecutive days that a nurse may work while working 12 hour shifts. Studies show that when nurses work 12 hour shifts more than 2 days in a row, they are more likely to suffer from burn out (Wisetborisut, Angkurawaranon, Jiraporncharoen, Uaphanthasath, Wiwantanadate, 2014, p. 279). If a hospital does decide to keep 12 hour shifts, design schedules so that there are no more than 2 consecutive days in which a nurse is working 12 hour shifts. Hospitals should also make it mandatory to take the next day off after working a 16 hour shift. Another alternative would be after working one 16 hour shift, have the nurse take mandatory time off for no less than sixteen hours following the 16 hour shift. This way the nurse has the opportunity to get an adequate amount of rest before having to come in and work another shift. There are several reasons why the nurse should want to move to a shorter shift. First is the benefit of being able to deliver better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to the author all the prophets have a special relationship between God and Israel. They all share a common theme as well. Themes include announcement of judgment on Israel, punishment, announcement of restoration after a rebellion and comparisons of Israel. The author also points out what Israel is the main focus throughout the old testament. God choose Israel and entered into a covenant so his expectations are high compared to other nations living at that time. Which is why intense images being express the relationship between God and Israel. Such images include parent child, husband wife, church bride, shepherd flock, owner vineyard and potter clay. When Israel rebels against God Israel is compared to a prostitute or camel. However, even when Israel is beyond redemption, the chosen prophets beg for repentance from the nation of Israel. The grave was discovered in 1994 at Taramsa Hill (near Qena in Upper Egypt, located near the modern site of the temple of Hathor at Dendara). It contained the skeleton of a child between 8 and 10 years, buried about 55,000 years ago (Middle Paleolithic age). The child found sitting against the wall of a shallow pit, its face skyward, legs pulled up, left arm on its hip and right arm behind its back (Pl. 1). The pre dynastic period provided us with cemeteries intended for the children. This was found at Adaima (8 km south of Esna) precisely the eastern cemetery that contains 60 graves. The southern part of this cemetery contained only children s graves dating to the Naqada period (4th millennium BC). The percentage of the children graves in this cemetery is 87 %. Most of the dead children varied in age from six months to 9 years. However, most of the burials belonged to children from 0 to 4 years. The children were either placed in pottery jars (pl. 2) or buried in pits (Pl. 3 4). They were buried in a crouching position. It seems that the child mortality here related to a tuberculosis epidemic.
