The Catholic Church s response to the Western Schism was vastly important to its
respectability and authority in regards to the faithful of that time. The Western Schism
was only a temporary misunderstanding, even though it compelled the Church for
forty years to seek its true head; it was fed by politics and passions, and was
terminated by the assembling of the councils of Pisa and Constance. 1 After the
Avignon Papacy, the Catholic Church had three men claiming to be pope. One man
elected in Rome, one in Avignon, France, and one elected by the Council of Pisa.
This was very detrimental to the Catholic theology which states that it can trace
every pope back to St. Peter, the first pope. The Catholic faithful were not sure
which of the three men was the true pope and which, if any of them, they should
listen to. It was a very confusing time for all the faithful living in this time, and a
very annoying situation for the true pope who was now seen by many to be as
questionable as the other two in regards to not being the true pope. The three men
knew what a mess this situation was and two of them wanted to deal with the
situation, so as to reduce confusion among the faithful. The anti pope John XXIII
called the Council of Constance to deal with this situation. He offered to resign from
the papacy, that he was never in possession of, if the other two men would as well.
The council met to depose of the two anti popes, to deal with heretical teachings,
and to protect the succession of the papacy. This council is one of the most
important ecumenical councils, as it helped to affirm the succession of the pope
and to help to resolve the confusion caused by these anti popes. The Council of
Constance was called in 1414 by the Anti Pope John XXIII. It was called to resolve
the conflict regarding the papacy and to identify the true successor of St. Peter.
Between November 1414 and June 1415, the council had a total of 13 sessions,
dealing with the papacy and how the pope was chosen. The council, enacted Haec
Sancta (fifth session, 15 April 1415),

In both stories, they believed that they were doing something to benefit themselves
but in the end, it only hurt themselves and others. In The Lottery they were willing to
kill someone in belief of their crops growing. They had no hesitation. They did not
care if it was someone s husband, mother, or child. They did not think it through. The
same thing happened in The Sleep . They chose to sleep and isolate themselves. They
did not think about what this could have turned into or what it could have caused.

Practices is Google. According to Google, the company was founded on September
4, 1998 by Sergey Brin Larry Page. They founded the company in Menlo Park,

There are also indications of increased financial fragility. Internationally, fragility
was evident in the run of financial crises that afflicted the global economy in the late
1990s and early 2000s, and it has surfaced again in the recent U.S. sub prime
mortgage crisis that spread to Europe.
Furthermore, there are serious reservations about the sustainability of the
financialization process. The last two decades have been marked by rapidly rising
household debt income ratios and corporate debt equity ratios. These developments
explain both the system s growth and increasing fragility, but they also indicate
unsustainability because debt constraints must eventually bite. The risk is when this
happens the economy could be vulnerable to debt deflation and prolonged recession.
These macroeconomic concerns are compounded by concerns about income
distribution. Thus, the era of financialization has witnessed a disconnection of wages

from productivity growth, raising serious concerns regarding wage stagnation and
widening income and wealth inequality (Mishel et al. 2007).
The financialization thesis is that these changes in macroeconomic patterns and
income distribution are significantly attributable to financial sector developments.
Those developments have relaxed constraints on access to finance and increased the
influence of the financial sector over the non financial sector. For households this has

racial stereotypes that are deeply rooted in the mainstream culture. While these
stereotypes may not always be true, they are extremely difficult to ignore and
escape from. In Ernest J. Gaines s novel A Lesson Before Dying, Grant Wiggins
struggles to break away from the social norms of Bayonne Louisiana, and finds it
challenging to convince others of his own worth. Although Grant has led a
successful life, and has a respectable career, his white counterparts still treat him as a
second class citizen. Jefferson is another product of the system, who is also unable to

While Jefferson had a trial with a jury of his peers, the general consensus of
Bayonne is that Young Black men had a predisposition for violent crimes. During
his supposedly fair trial, Jefferson is treated as less of a human. The prosecution

there are social institutions such as education, religion, and law that are overdue for

Learning Style Inventory Analysis
After taking the learning style inventory, I was not surprise to find that I am a
global learner. However, I am almost a pretty good split between the two learning
styles. But, when it comes to thinking and test taking I am both analytical and
