When I first started movement class in January, I already had a good connection with my body.
However, I knew there was still a lot of work to be done. The most valuable lessons I learned during
the course, though there were many, were to not work so hard with my body, to be more aware of my
day to day, and the power of understanding yourself.
As a student with a business background, I tend to want to work hard. Before taking movement this
semester, I would occasionally notice my posture, and correct it to something more proper. For
example, I noticed how I keep my head forward, or how I would overuse my lower back muscles. This

I said I would make it my purpose to walk with back body every time I came from the train to school.
When I first started, I had a lot of trouble. I would be aware of my back body, then after a couple steps
I would revert back to old habits. It was a constant battle between awareness and unconsciousness. Val
pointed it out that it is similar to meditation; you always have to bring back awareness. As time went
on I found that I could walk with back body for longer. However, I did end up walking slower. I
assumed that I was relearning to walk, so I would have to start slow. The interesting thing was that the
awareness of back body expanded beyond my walk to school. Eventually, I started to walk with back
body through hallways, or I would remember to use back body when I was sitting. Moreover, I started
to remember to use the Alexander Technique more often in my everyday life. At this point in the
semester, I am getting more and more consistent with my practice. However, when I am busy, it tends
to slip away. This practice is another big part of why I m feeling less tense in troubled areas. I believe
an actor must practice awareness and their scales every day. This will allow for better habits to form.

Donald Barthelme s story, The School, takes on an untraditional way of explaining life and the
meaning behind it. Donald Barthelme was an influential writer during the mid 1900 s and was an

enabled him to highlight his themes in an unusual way. He uses escalation to emphasize the deaths of

Introduction:
The role of computed tomography (CT) in imaging has risen substantially in the previous decade
(Hess et al. 2014). With its increasing demand, one of the most predominant concerns for radiation
workers is the dose administered to the patient (Hess et al. 2014). Therefore, the calculation of dose is
a parameter that must be monitored closely.

Exposure
Exposure is the amount of electrical charge produced by ionising radiation per unit mass of air. It is
measured in Coulomb per kilogram C kg 1, where its former unit was Roentgen (Schoepf 2005).
Absorbed dose
The absorbed dose is the energy (joules) deposited by ionising radiation per unit mass of material in
kilograms, as a result of exposure to ionising radiation. The absorbed dose is therefore measured in
J/kg or gray (Gy) where 1Gy = 1J/kg. The absorbed dose is calculated by multiplying exposure with
W, where W is the conversion factor from exposure to absorbed dose depending on the absorbing
