Understanding Jesus Heritage
Sandra Schneiders (as cited in Ryan, 2012), describes the bible as ...an integral, even normative, part
of living tradition . This can be seen particularly in the use of the infancy narratives which tell the well
known Christmas story, in Catholic religious groups today individual parishioners, churches and
Catholic Education institutions. The text is used and heavily relied upon to inform believers and those
wishing to gain insight into the Catholic religion, on the faith. It appears through contemporary
scholarship, however, that the infancy gospels of Matthew and Luke present to their readers, different
themes, conflicting information and two very different accounts of the significant birth and early life
of Jesus. It is therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He came into the world to work along side the poor, the rich, the healthy, the sick, the good and the
bad. Examples of this are shown in stories such as that of Jesus and Zacchaeus, the sinful tax collector
(Luke 19) and the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30 37). These gospel stories are used today
to show how Jesus love and compassion flowed through to all man kind and that it was not reserved
for any favoured groups or individuals. Luke is demonstrating to his audience the universality of Jesus
and that salvation is offered to everyone.
Mason (2009), indicates it is very unlikely that Luke or Matthew was an eyewitness to Jesus life and
that they relied upon other sources to formulate their gospels. Therefore, as previously discussed, it is
imperative that the infancy narratives be viewed as separate stories and not one historically accurate
recount. This is, in large part, due to the discrepancies and conflicting information readers are
presented with.
An example of these conflicts has been previously discussed, in both texts providing differing
genealogies at the discussion of Jesus birth. Matthew traces Jesus blood line back to that of Abraham
and King David, whereas Luke aligns Jesus heritage as far back as Adam. These conflicting accounts,
as aforementioned, are for differing purposes and convey different messages to the reader. Matthew s
purpose is

customs and trade
Customs and Trade Much of the history of international relations and trade concerns efforts to
promote free trade among nations. The 17th century saw the growth of restrictive policies that later
came to be known as mercantilism. The mercantilists held that economic policy should be nationalistic
and should aim at securing the wealth and power of the state. Governments were led to impose price
and wage controls, promote exports of finished goods and imports of raw materials, and prohibit the
exports of raw materials and the import of finished goods. In the middle of the 18th century a strong
reaction against mercantilist attitudes began. In France, the economists demanded liberty of
production and trade. In England, Adam Smith ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has brought immense gains for consumers in terms of new products and products of better quality
and lower price. Despite the obvious advantages, governments have to explain to their citizens the
advantages of the open, rules based trading system and that the trade with either developed or
developing countries offers enormous opportunities and, as with all trade, mutual benefits. The
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), from its inception, contributes to
the expansion of world trade on a multilateral, non discriminating basis. The OECD helps the WTO
move forward on trade liberalization, stressing the importance of ensuring that non OECD countries
become fully integrated into the global trading system. The importance, and inevitability, of change
has been stressed in many aspects of OECD work, including the OECD Job Study. The main aim is to
improve job prospects. The OECD also has an important role to play in recognizing that the nature of

between national economies to meet the demands of a globalizing one. Investment issues are at the
forefront; firms invest to trade and trade to invest. The old model of manufacture in one country and

marketing, which leapfrogs national boundaries. A change reflected in

Domestic-Based Terrorism Research Paper
Prior to the terror attacks of September 11th on the twin towers, life was far different than its current
regime. The Unites States wasn t officially involved in any wars, few Americans had ever heard of al
Qaeda or Osama bin Laden, and ISIS was inexistent. We deported half the number of people we do
today. Our surveillance state was a fraction of its current size and, astonishingly, you didn t have to
take your shoes off at the airport. The terror attacks prompted new attitudes and concerns about
vigilance and safety, bringing forth new policies that prioritized national security and defence like the
USA Patriot Act. These new attitudes have shaped the American people into a different state of mind,
one that is constantly suspicious of someone of the muslim origin, leaving openings for the
unsuspected people, the ones from home. Under the current United States law, ... Show more content

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest By Ken Kesey
One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest A Christ figure is a person who has the ability to bring light to
others and portrays the image of Jesus Christ. In the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, by Ken
Kesey, a healthy, normal man named Randle Patrick McMurphy was sent to the mental hospital as a
patient because he did not want to work at the Pendleton Work Farm. At the ward he meets the other
patients and challenges Nurse Ratched s authority. This novel is a parable that shows how McMurphy
represents Jesus Christ and how he became this figure of hope to the patients changed their lives.

he bets with the other patients that he can escape the ward by lifting a fountain attached to the ground
and throwing it at a wall to make an exit, even though this task is impossible. Chief Bromden, a
patient in the ward and the narrator of this story, describes this event, His whole body shakes with the

for just a second, when we hear the cement grind atout feet, we think, by golly, he might just do it. (p.

Reflection Of The Five Psychoosexual Stages Of Personality...
Attending the psychology lecture has been an interesting experience for me, which I learn about
different psychological theories explaining how our behaviors and thoughts are changing by the
surrounding stimuli and factors. While I attain the theoretical knowledge, I also understand the
important to convert this knowledge into daily applications. Among the theories I have learnt in the
lesson, I found the psychoanalytic framework of Sigmund Freud is more appealing to me as I can
somehow relate it to myself and the psychological development of my little brother. Moreover, it
seems a more controversial theory when compare to other psychology perspective.
As Sigmund Freud suggested, every mature individual has a personality structure with three ... Show

Jane Martin Beauty Essay
I wanted to be Beautiful but I Didn t Want to be you
In Jane Martin s play, Beauty , Martin uses characterization and dissimilarities to reveal real life
challenges. The common idea that people only see the bad side of their lives and the good side of
others is demonstrated throughout Martin s play. Beauty is a play centered on two friends; Carla, who
Bethany views as being the epitome of beautiful, and Bethany who Carla sees as the epitome of
intelligent. Both Carla and Bethany do not accept their status in life and therefore bring forth strong
emotions of jealousy and discontentment.
The theme of discontent is shown most efficiently throughout the character of Bethany. Bethany is

Because of this, she begs Bethany not to wish for beauty, because it comes with way more problems
than Bethany can handle. Being a beautiful aspiring model, Carla receives a lot of attention from men.
Bethany sees this attention as a good thing since Carla has so many dates that she has trouble keeping
up with the men that she s been with. This is seen at the very beginning of the play when Martin opens
up with Carla uttering the line In love with me? You re in love with me? Could you describe yourself
again? Uh huh. Uh huh. And you spoke to me? Carla interacts with so many men that she can t keep
up and although she has guys interested in her and has sex often, she is still discontent. She often
complains to Bethany of not being able to hold a conversation with a man, because her beauty causes
them to only want sexual relations with her. Carla confesses her discontentment by saying that beauty
is not what I want . She feels as if her beauty means nothing if she cannot be brilliant. Men will want
nothing more than sex, if she does not have intelligence. Although Carla desires to have both beauty
and brains, she refuses to take exaggerating measures as a means to attain it. Ultimately, Carla voices
discontentment due to the problems that beauty bring in her life, she isn t willing to trade her reality

Katherine Beattie s Weekend, By Ann Beattie
Exceptional artists often create in a way that allows for infinite interpretations of their work. However,
it is the author s job to immerse their readers into the storyline as they grasp an understanding of the
overall mood and feeling of the story. Some may argue that patterns within a work may be merely
coincidental, but in Ann Beattie s Weekend, the repeated mentioning of weather patterns and the
fireplace are used in order to portray a certain mood throughout the story. These patterns allow the
reader to deeply connect with the character s emotions and understand the ambiance without the
narrator directly stating how the character is feeling. In Weekend, Ann Beattie s intentional use of
outside forces such as the rain, the temperature, and the presence of fire allows the reader to develop a
deeper understanding concerning the ongoing tensions and emotions in the atmosphere throughout the
entire story. For the duration of the story, the rain is mentioned constantly as the mood shifts according
to its presence or absence. Whenever it rains, Lenore seems to gain clarity regarding her toxic
relationship with her husband; whereas in the absence of rain, everyone shifts into a state of oblivion
as they pretend these immoral incidents between George and his lover, Sarah, are not occurring. As
George and Sarah leave for their outdoor escapade, Julie, who is George s other guest, and Lenore
hear the rain commence. The beginning of the rain prompts lucidity for Lenore

Compare Northern Renaissance Art To The Landscape Art Of...
I am going to compare Northern Renaissance art to the landscape art of the Chinese. Northern
Renaissance worked with realistic detail and focused on symbolic imagery more than on the
replication of nature. Landscape painting was popular in the Northern Renaissance era using
landscape as the subject of art. This is comparable to the landscape paintings of the Chinese. Their
paintings were meant to be read from bottom to top and often had a high point of view. These
paintings were full of ambiguity and indirect meaning. Their landscape paintings featured mountains
in the middle and background with water dominating the foreground. If any figures were included,
they were small and insignificant.

Eurocentric Misconceptions Against Eurocentrism
Eurocentric attitudes constantly place itself at the forefront of our understandings of the world.
Western civilization examines dance within the binary of the opposite. As a consequence, non

Essay Ernest Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway s tough, terse prose and short, declarative sentences did more to change the style
of written English that any other writing in the twentieth century. Ernest Hemingway had many great
accomplishments in his historical life but one event sticks out from the rest. The Old Man and the Sea
is one of Hemingway s most enduring works. Told in Language of great simplicity and power, it is the
story of an old Cuban fisherman, agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. Here
Hemingway recasts, in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of
defeat, of personal triumph won from loss. Written in 1952, this hugely successful novel confirmed his

He would later adapt this style to his fiction. In May of 1918, Hemingway became an honorary second
lieutenant in the Red Cross. He could not join the army due to a defective left eye (resentfully
inherited from his mother). On his first day of service across seas, he and other ambulance drivers
were assigned the horrific duty of picking up body parts from an exploded munitions factory. Death,
mostly of women, on such a scale was most definitely another very shocking moment in Hemingway s
young life. But he soon recovered from this experience and became known as the man who was
always where the action is. He would often sneak cigarettes and chocolate to soldiers on the Italian
front. It was on one of these occasions that he was severely wounded by an Austrian trench mortar.
Even with over a hundred pieces of shrapnel and an Austrian machine gun bullet logged in his leg he
managed to carry a wounded soldier a hundred yards to safety. He got the Italian Medal of Valor for
his courageous action. He spent his recovery time at the Ospedale Croce Rossa Americana, in Milan.

Illuminating differences within a world of similarities enables the growth of relationships,
transforming the individual s perception. By defining what we are not and acknowledging the state of
alterity, we construct a definition of who we are, which continually evolves. This notion is

John Boyne. Everyone s personal experiences establish their perception of acceptance in their

The Two-Points Flat Tax System

same regardless of their role. The treasurer, and myself being mayor could also map out how many
points we would have for the rest of the semester. This would not have been the same if we had
decided a percentage based tax or one that first needed to know the quiz score. I believe that our

How Did The Enlightenment Influence The American Revolution
During the American Revolution many of the ideas of Enlightenment were used as the guidelines that

It s not only effecting the state of Texas. Larissa Mae Suarez says, Simultaneous actions also took
place in other schools outside Metro Manila, organized by the National Union of Students of the
Philippines (NUSP), against the state s abandonment of its responsibility to ensure quality and
accessible education for the youth . With this being said, it s not only a state problem; it s a national
problem also. Although Rick Perry had nothing to do with national problems, I think that the state and
national government need to budget money better.
In conclusion, education is major part of life and I don t feel that it should be cut. If there is enough
money in the rainy day fun to give towards education so that students could get the proper education
that they deserve and teachers can keep their jobs then it should be given. I don t think it s fair the
school funding is being reduced by 9.3 billion dollars and it s only towards public education. Although
private education is an alternate decision, everyone can t afford it.

Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was released in New York on September 24, 1969. The film
received mostly negative reviews but became a success throughout the public. Eventually the National
Film Preservation Board deemed the film culturally and artistically significant and it s central themes
and heros resonated with the youth movement of the time. The importance of the movie is what it
came to represent to the people who saw it. While the director, George Roy Hill used the chase of the
main characters to add more action and fiction to the historical aspects of the film, the symbolic line
behind the pursuit of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid by the superhuman posse is the timeless
struggle between rebellion and authority.

This mirrored the drastic action that was seen in rebellions like the civil rights movement and the
Vietnam protest. Butch and Sundance are the rebels that remind audiences that change comes to those
who do something.
The superhuman posse that tirelessly chases after Cassidy and Sundance represents the authorities.
When audiences went to go see this film, the younger generation viewed Joe Lafores, E. H. Harriman
and his superhuman posse as a symbol of the authority of another generation. Cassidy s statement that
Harriman probably inherited every penny he got resonated with the generation who questioned
inheritance and wealth as justification for authority (Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid n.p.). Even
though Goldman stated that he did not intend to make the movie an allegory to the counterculture of
the 1960s, many young people saw the superposse as a metaphor for the government/authority during
the years of anti war protests (Nixon n.p.). They identified with the youth and rebellion of Butch and
Sundance and they saw the superhuman posse as a bunch of faceless lawmen trying to put an end to
the reign of the bandit rebels. The individuals chasing Butch and Sundance are always there, always
on their tail, and always about to catch up with them, just like the authorities were always out to get
the protesters and activists. As stated in the comedic line who are those guys? the audience never
really knows who the superhuman posse is

Why Is Absolute Monarchy Essay
From Kings to Sultans, Monarchies are well known and highly unstable. A monarchy is a type of
government where the power is passed down generation by generation. The first civilizations practiced
monarchism, and up until ancient Greece, Monarchism was the only way of government. Monarchies
come in many forms, like Tsardoms and Khanates. Some have many to help rule, others are based
solely on their hereditary master. The question is, why are they so famous? It s always been nature for
the strongest to rule, up until modern day. Whether it s the strongest in brawn or brains, ruling is
dependent upon who can defeat whom. It s not only mankind that practices this method. The humans
version of this is just more advanced. There are many types of Monarchy. There are absolute
monarchies. Absolute monarchies are those to where the monarch rules all that happens, the trade, the

Final Movement Research Paper
Final Movement Reflection
When I first started movement class in January, I already had a good connection with my body.
However, I knew there was still a lot of work to be done. The most valuable lessons I learned during
the course, though there were many, were to not work so hard with my body, to be more aware of my
day to day, and the power of understanding yourself.
As a student with a business background, I tend to want to work hard. Before taking movement this
semester, I would occasionally notice my posture, and correct it to something more proper. For
example, I noticed how I keep my head forward, or how I would overuse my lower back muscles. This
was, however, where my body awareness ended. On the first day of class, Val got us to ... Show more

I said I would make it my purpose to walk with back body every time I came from the train to school.
When I first started, I had a lot of trouble. I would be aware of my back body, then after a couple steps
I would revert back to old habits. It was a constant battle between awareness and unconsciousness. Val
pointed it out that it is similar to meditation; you always have to bring back awareness. As time went
on I found that I could walk with back body for longer. However, I did end up walking slower. I
assumed that I was relearning to walk, so I would have to start slow. The interesting thing was that the
awareness of back body expanded beyond my walk to school. Eventually, I started to walk with back
body through hallways, or I would remember to use back body when I was sitting. Moreover, I started
to remember to use the Alexander Technique more often in my everyday life. At this point in the
semester, I am getting more and more consistent with my practice. However, when I am busy, it tends
to slip away. This practice is another big part of why I m feeling less tense in troubled areas. I believe
an actor must practice awareness and their scales every day. This will allow for better habits to form.
Therefore, when it comes time to act, this work will happen

Effects Of Social Learning Theory On Juvenile Delinquency
Abstract This paper will be going over social learning theory and how it affects juveniles and its
relation to Juvenal delinquency. Social learning theory states that learning social behaviors happens
through observation and learning from others. This paper will be explaining how family, friends, and
socialization affect the child s behaviors in relation to juvenile delinquency. Also going over the
strengths and weaknesses of the social learning theory.
What is social learning theory In 1961, the infamous Bobo doll experiment was conducted by Albert
Bandura, leading him to create social learning theory. This experiment entailed a group of adults
beating up a Bobo doll while children watched. After the adults were finished, the children were let
into the room with the Bobo doll. It was observed that the children were copying the adult s behavior
beating the Bobo doll. SOURCE. This experiment that Bandura conducted shows that we humans
learn social behaviors from observing others. This theory has been applied to criminal justice in that
juvenals learn deviant behavior from others actions that they observe. According to Siegel Welsh
(2015). Social learning theory suggests that adolescents learn the techniques and attitudes of crime
from close and intimate relationships with the delinquent peers; delinquency is a learned behavior (p.
155). This means that the Juvenal, depending on what behaviors of crime and delinquency that their
friends and family have will

Driverless cars were thought of in the 1970s but were never fully researched and developed. Multiple

Competitive Advantage Essay
Corporate Strategy
Sources of competitive advantage rarely yield added value that can be sustained over time.
The following essay is going to attempt to assess the above proposition and try to find if it is possible
to add value continually over a period of time. I will first discuss what competitive advantage is and
what it means to a firm. Then I will explain the sources of competitive advantage and how the
distinctive capabilities of a firm allow it to sustain added value. The discussion is based on a number
of viewpoints from different authors who will be clearly indicated and acknowledged. I begin with
explaining what competitive advantage is.

Kay (1995) points out, Architecture depends on the ability of the firm to build and sustain long term
relationships...it is easier to sustain architecture than to set out to create it.
More than the other sources of competitive advantage, the sustainability of architecture rests on the
level of skills of senior mangers. The first major step for the managers is to recognize the nature of the
firm s architecture and the function it plays in the markets the firm serves. Kay argues that there are
two main types of distinctive capability based on architecture,. Firstly, the firm s architecture may
generate a flow of innovations which forms a sustainable advantage. Secondly, the architecture of the
firm may allow the firm to successfully adopt new technology sooner and more efficiently than it s
competitors.
The second primary distinctive capability is Reputation. This is the most important commercial
mechanism for conveying information to consumers. The process of building up a reputation can br
accelerated by staking a reputation which has been established in a related market. Once the firm s
reputation has been created, it will have an advantage competing for new customers and further
strengthening it s reputation. However, reputation is difficult and costly to establish and in order to

Narrative Voices in Shelley s Frankenstein and Fathers...
Narrative Voices in Shelley s Frankenstein and Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev
I have chosen to compare the narrative voices of Frankenstein and
Fathers and Sons, as the perspectives in these two novels differ from one another. Frankenstein s
narrative voice contains tales of three characters within one narrative, none belonging directly to the
author, whereas the narrative voice of Fathers and Sons, is that of the author alone.
Examples I will be using are taken from The Realist Novel (TRN), and from the novels of
Frankenstein (F) and Fathers and Sons (F S).
Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein is an example of first person narrative, with Walton describing his
encounters in letters to his sister Margaret, in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(P53 F).
This novel also includes narrative perspectives that shape the fictional world in the realist novel genre.
Instances of this come from Victors childhood, which seemed idyllic, with his mother and father
devoted to him, the innocent and helpless creature bestowed on them by heaven and I was so guided
by a silken cord that all seemed but one train of enjoyment to me (P.33 F). And when the monster is
relating his tale to Victor, of how he learnt the basic principles of survival, stating when I was
oppressed by cold, I found fire and
searching in vain for a few acorns to assuage the pangs of hunger and of his hideout I found it an
agreeable asylum from the snow and rain . (P.99 F). This perspective is plausible, giving a romantic
feel to the novel, when Frankenstein s physical attempt to reconstruct the human frame serves as an
image for the goal of Romantic artists: the spiritual regeneration of man (p.65 TRN). The pathos
generated by his tale is intensified by the monster being inspired and consoled by nature, as he
describes to Victor my senses were gratified and refreshed by a thousand scents of delight and a
thousand sights of beauty with the onset of spring, (p.111 F). Also, thankfulness towards the blessed
sun, which bestowed such joy upon me (p.134 F).
When the narrative perspective changes, we have a contrast to these joys as he is rejected as an ugly

What Is The Differences Between The Monarchy, Aristocracy,...
In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny, oligarchy, and
democracy in Ancient Greece.
Monarchy.
There are two types of monarchy one is a constitutional monarchy and the other is absolute monarchy.
Absolute monarchs are really all powerful, they are able to pass laws and veto any law passed or
suggested by politicians, a constitutional monarch has less power and is really only a figurehead as a
head of state.
In Ancient Greece there were not really a lot of monarchies, there was of course Sparta with its unique
two King system. The two Kings come from the direct descendants of the founders of Sparta, they
weren t really absolute monarchs because they had the ephors stopping them from taking too many
decisions that could be harmful to the state (Cartwright, 2013). There were other monarchies in the
times of Ancient Greece, most notably Macedonia, that went on to conquer Greece in 336 BCE
(Brand, n.d. ,p36).
Aristocracy.
This was the rule of a few elite people. They were always the richest people and what we would call
today the Lords or Ladies. They were the highest of the upper classes. This would have given them a
good chance of perks and probably a good way of becoming wealthier (Mahabal, Joshi, 2017).
Tyranny.

oligarchy of 400 took power by overthrowing the assembly, it seems they were a little tyrannical in the
way they acted, and were overthrown by the oligarchy of 5000, who were more moderate (Cartwright,

Soybeans, Maize, And Rapeseed Essay
Soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are raw commodities where the primary use is inputs in the feed, food,
and drink industries. Appendix A Figure 2.A.1 lists the wide spectrum of food industries where
soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are used as inputs. Since the value of these crops is low compared to
the final products in which they are typically inputs infers that transport and storage must often be
organized in bulk in order for operational and transaction costs to be kept low.
The current supply chain structure in which these crops are traded creates several possibilities for
impurities or co mingling. It is common practice in food safety regulations to allow a minimum
presence of unintended materials like dirt, weed seeds, and mycotoxins in crop shipments (Backus et
al. 2008). However, this may not always be the case regarding the unintended presence of traces of an
unapproved GM event in the non GM crops (whether crops where no GM approvals have been made
or crops where GM varieties have been commercialized). For example, the EU has a zero tolerance
level for unapproved GM events in the shipments of crops. Thus, the case of asynchronous approval
of GM varieties and differing thresholds for LLP among countries can lead to important impediments
to trade. These can include returning, relocation, or destroying cargos of non GM varieties at the
importing country s port as a result of the unintended presence of GM traits. Also, with the growing
number of GM events being licensed

Financial Position of Tesco PLC
Introduction The relevance of evaluating both the financial performance as well as position of Tesco
PLC cannot be overstated. This is more so the case given the need to determine the stability and
viability of the company going forward. This text seeks to evaluate the financial performance as well

Tesco PLC: Company Background Yahoo! Finance (2012) describes Tesco PLC as a company that
operates stores that primarily offer food products, as well as general merchandise, clothing products,
and electrical products. In addition to that, Tesco PLC is also involved in the provision of insurance,
financial as well as banking (retail) services (Yahoo! Finance, 2012). Taking into consideration the
number of branches it has in various parts of the world, Tesco PLC can be regarded one of the largest
retailers around the globe. Having been established sometimes in the year 1919 by Jack Cohen, the
company has surely come a long way (Tesco, 2012). The phenomenal growth of Tesco PLC over time

Life And Death In Donald Barthelme s The School
Donald Barthelme s story, The School, takes on an untraditional way of explaining life and the
meaning behind it. Donald Barthelme was an influential writer during the mid 1900 s and was an
especially important part of flash fiction. Many of his stories were very short. His approach at writing
enabled him to highlight his themes in an unusual way. He uses escalation to emphasize the deaths of
plants and herbs going all the way to the death of people. Michael Byers, an assistant professor of
English at the University of Michigan, writes about The School saying, curiosity, love, personal
connection all sources of solace in the face of death, and once that solace arrives, the dead world
returns to life (Byers). I agree with Byers that these things are sources of solace; however, I do not
think Barthelme was trying to imply that after death we return to life. I believe Barthelme was trying
to emphasize the meaning of life when answering the children s question by saying, life is that which
gives meaning to life. He was saying that death is a natural part of human life which exists all around
us. Barthelme emphasized his theme of life by using the escalation of death throughout the story. I
think Barthelme wanted readers to see that life and death are the basis for existence and that one
cannot exist without the other; humor through escalation is brought into effect to create the harsh
contrast of life versus death. As well as using humor and escalation to

Affordable Health Care
I too believe that healthcare should be a right for all citizens. Health is defined by the World Health
Organization (WHO) as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well being (Macionis, 2015,
p. 267). Preventative and acute care is important to maintain health and is needed by everyone in the
world. Since the creation of the Affordable Care Act many have argued the negative repercussions of
the program often neglecting the positives. The fact is, most working adults (59.5%) are offered
insurance for themselves and their families at a discounted rate through their employers (Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, 2013). Despite a 10% decline in employers that offer insurance compared to
2011, the option is still available for half of the working population (Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, 2013). Small business owners that employ fifty or more employees are eligible to provide
subsidized health insurance for their employees (HealthCare.gov, 2016). In addition, 30.1% of
American s utilize either Medicaid or Medicare, a government program that aids or supplements
insurance cost ( Medicare and Medicaid, Age and Income Random Samplings, 2013) . The Affordable

therefore the force of mixing caused the integration between them. A woman s belly is envisioned as a

iSAP CT Dose Calculation
Introduction:
The role of computed tomography (CT) in imaging has risen substantially in the previous decade
(Hess et al. 2014). With its increasing demand, one of the most predominant concerns for radiation
workers is the dose administered to the patient (Hess et al. 2014). Therefore, the calculation of dose is

Exposure
Exposure is the amount of electrical charge produced by ionising radiation per unit mass of air. It is
measured in Coulomb per kilogram C kg 1, where its former unit was Roentgen (Schoepf 2005).
Absorbed dose
The absorbed dose is the energy (joules) deposited by ionising radiation per unit mass of material in
kilograms, as a result of exposure to ionising radiation. The absorbed dose is therefore measured in
J/kg or gray (Gy) where 1Gy = 1J/kg. The absorbed dose is calculated by multiplying exposure with
W, where W is the conversion factor from exposure to absorbed dose depending on the absorbing
medium (Siegel 2008).
Equivalent dose
The absorbed dose is a poor indicator of the likely biological effect, as the biological effect of the
same absorbed dose will depend on the type of radiation. This is because the linear energy transfer of
radiations that produce dense ionisation tracks cause more biological damage per unit dose than low
linear energy transfer radiations, and thus must have higher radiation weighting factors. Therefore, the
equivalent dose (HT) is measured

Atheism Argument
Theism is the belief of the existence of god as the creator of the world. Atheism, on the flip side,

God actually exist. While scientists disagree with the existence of God, however, they have not been
able to disproved that god does not exist. In a sense, it s worth pointing out that both argument
somehow aiming in the direction of strictly scientific view of the world. The reason for my logic is
that theism utilized faith to explain everything around them which in their view are more than enough
indication in explaining the existence of god. While this logic may be insufficient from atheism point
of view; however, it is worth noting that the

  • 2. Understanding Jesus Heritage Sandra Schneiders (as cited in Ryan, 2012), describes the bible as ...an integral, even normative, part of living tradition . This can be seen particularly in the use of the infancy narratives which tell the well known Christmas story, in Catholic religious groups today individual parishioners, churches and Catholic Education institutions. The text is used and heavily relied upon to inform believers and those wishing to gain insight into the Catholic religion, on the faith. It appears through contemporary scholarship, however, that the infancy gospels of Matthew and Luke present to their readers, different themes, conflicting information and two very different accounts of the significant birth and early life of Jesus. It is therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He came into the world to work along side the poor, the rich, the healthy, the sick, the good and the bad. Examples of this are shown in stories such as that of Jesus and Zacchaeus, the sinful tax collector (Luke 19) and the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30 37). These gospel stories are used today to show how Jesus love and compassion flowed through to all man kind and that it was not reserved for any favoured groups or individuals. Luke is demonstrating to his audience the universality of Jesus and that salvation is offered to everyone. Mason (2009), indicates it is very unlikely that Luke or Matthew was an eyewitness to Jesus life and that they relied upon other sources to formulate their gospels. Therefore, as previously discussed, it is imperative that the infancy narratives be viewed as separate stories and not one historically accurate recount. This is, in large part, due to the discrepancies and conflicting information readers are presented with. An example of these conflicts has been previously discussed, in both texts providing differing genealogies at the discussion of Jesus birth. Matthew traces Jesus blood line back to that of Abraham and King David, whereas Luke aligns Jesus heritage as far back as Adam. These conflicting accounts, as aforementioned, are for differing purposes and convey different messages to the reader. Matthew s purpose is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. customs and trade Customs and Trade Much of the history of international relations and trade concerns efforts to promote free trade among nations. The 17th century saw the growth of restrictive policies that later came to be known as mercantilism. The mercantilists held that economic policy should be nationalistic and should aim at securing the wealth and power of the state. Governments were led to impose price and wage controls, promote exports of finished goods and imports of raw materials, and prohibit the exports of raw materials and the import of finished goods. In the middle of the 18th century a strong reaction against mercantilist attitudes began. In France, the economists demanded liberty of production and trade. In England, Adam Smith ... Despite the obvious advantages, governments have to explain to their citizens the advantages of the open, rules based trading system and that the trade with either developed or developing countries offers enormous opportunities and, as with all trade, mutual benefits. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), from its inception, contributes to the expansion of world trade on a multilateral, non discriminating basis. The OECD helps the WTO move forward on trade liberalization, stressing the importance of ensuring that non OECD countries become fully integrated into the global trading system. The importance, and inevitability, of change has been stressed in many aspects of OECD work, including the OECD Job Study. The main aim is to improve job prospects. The OECD also has an important role to play in recognizing that the nature of trade in changing. The trade agenda of the future must move well beyond the traditional issues of trade between national economies to meet the demands of a globalizing one. The Unites States wasn t officially involved in any wars, few Americans had ever heard of al Qaeda or Osama bin Laden, and ISIS was inexistent. We deported half the number of people we do today. Our surveillance state was a fraction of its current size and, astonishingly, you didn t have to take your shoes off at the airport. The terror attacks prompted new attitudes and concerns about vigilance and safety, bringing forth new policies that prioritized national security and defence like the USA Patriot Act. However, it is the author s job to immerse their readers into the storyline as they grasp an understanding of the overall mood and feeling of the story. Some may argue that patterns within a work may be merely coincidental, but in Ann Beattie s Weekend, the repeated mentioning of weather patterns and the fireplace are used in order to portray a certain mood throughout the story. These patterns allow the reader to deeply connect with the character s emotions and understand the ambiance without the narrator directly stating how the character is feeling. In Weekend, Ann Beattie s intentional use of outside forces such as the rain, the temperature, and the presence of fire allows the reader to develop a deeper understanding concerning the ongoing tensions and emotions in the atmosphere throughout the entire story. For the duration of the story, the rain is mentioned constantly as the mood shifts according to its presence or absence. Whenever it rains, Lenore seems to gain clarity regarding her toxic relationship with her husband; whereas in the absence of rain, everyone shifts into a state of oblivion as they pretend these immoral incidents between George and his lover, Sarah, are not occurring. I would be aware of my back body, then after a couple steps I would revert back to old habits. It was a constant battle between awareness and unconsciousness. Val pointed it out that it is similar to meditation; you always have to bring back awareness. As time went on I found that I could walk with back body for longer. However, I did end up walking slower. I assumed that I was relearning to walk, so I would have to start slow. The interesting thing was that the awareness of back body expanded beyond my walk to school. Eventually, I started to walk with back body through hallways, or I would remember to use back body when I was sitting. Moreover, I started to remember to use the Alexander Technique more often in my everyday life. At this point in the semester, I am getting more and more consistent with my practice. However, when I am busy, it tends to slip away. This practice is another big part of why I m feeling less tense in troubled areas. • 25. Effects Of Social Learning Theory On Juvenile Delinquency Abstract This paper will be going over social learning theory and how it affects juveniles and its relation to Juvenal delinquency. Social learning theory states that learning social behaviors happens through observation and learning from others. This paper will be explaining how family, friends, and socialization affect the child s behaviors in relation to juvenile delinquency. Also going over the strengths and weaknesses of the social learning theory. What is social learning theory In 1961, the infamous Bobo doll experiment was conducted by Albert Bandura, leading him to create social learning theory. This experiment entailed a group of adults beating up a Bobo doll while children watched. After the adults were finished, the children were let into the room with the Bobo doll. It was observed that the children were copying the adult s behavior beating the Bobo doll. SOURCE. This experiment that Bandura conducted shows that we humans learn social behaviors from observing others. This theory has been applied to criminal justice in that juvenals learn deviant behavior from others actions that they observe. According to Siegel Welsh (2015). Social learning theory suggests that adolescents learn the techniques and attitudes of crime from close and intimate relationships with the delinquent peers; delinquency is a learned behavior (p. 155). This means that the Juvenal, depending on what behaviors of crime and delinquency that their friends and family have will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following essay is going to attempt to assess the above proposition and try to find if it is possible to add value continually over a period of time. Then I will explain the sources of competitive advantage and how the distinctive capabilities of a firm allow it to sustain added value. Kay (1995) points out, Architecture depends on the ability of the firm to build and sustain long term relationships...it is easier to sustain architecture than to set out to create it. More than the other sources of competitive advantage, the sustainability of architecture rests on the level of skills of senior mangers. The first major step for the managers is to recognize the nature of the firm s architecture and the function it plays in the markets the firm serves. Kay argues that there are two main types of distinctive capability based on architecture,. Firstly, the firm s architecture may generate a flow of innovations which forms a sustainable advantage. Secondly, the architecture of the firm may allow the firm to successfully adopt new technology sooner and more efficiently than it s competitors. The second primary distinctive capability is Reputation. This is the most important commercial mechanism for conveying information to consumers. The process of building up a reputation can br accelerated by staking a reputation which has been established in a related market. Once the firm s reputation has been created, it will have an advantage competing for new customers and further strengthening it s reputation. • 28. Narrative Voices in Shelley s Frankenstein and Fathers... Narrative Voices in Shelley s Frankenstein and Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev I have chosen to compare the narrative voices of Frankenstein and Fathers and Sons, as the perspectives in these two novels differ from one another. Frankenstein s narrative voice contains tales of three characters within one narrative, none belonging directly to the author, whereas the narrative voice of Fathers and Sons, is that of the author alone. Examples I will be using are taken from The Realist Novel (TRN), and from the novels of Frankenstein (F) and Fathers and Sons (F S). Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein is an example of first person narrative, with Walton describing his encounters in letters to his sister Margaret, in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (P53 F). This novel also includes narrative perspectives that shape the fictional world in the realist novel genre. Instances of this come from Victors childhood, which seemed idyllic, with his mother and father devoted to him, the innocent and helpless creature bestowed on them by heaven and I was so guided by a silken cord that all seemed but one train of enjoyment to me (P.33 F). And when the monster is relating his tale to Victor, of how he learnt the basic principles of survival, stating when I was oppressed by cold, I found fire and searching in vain for a few acorns to assuage the pangs of hunger and of his hideout I found it an agreeable asylum from the snow and rain . (P.99 F). This perspective is plausible, giving a romantic feel to the novel, when Frankenstein s physical attempt to reconstruct the human frame serves as an image for the goal of Romantic artists: the spiritual regeneration of man (p.65 TRN). The pathos generated by his tale is intensified by the monster being inspired and consoled by nature, as he describes to Victor my senses were gratified and refreshed by a thousand scents of delight and a thousand sights of beauty with the onset of spring, (p.111 F). Also, thankfulness towards the blessed sun, which bestowed such joy upon me (p.134 F). • 29. What Is The Differences Between The Monarchy, Aristocracy,... In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny, oligarchy, and democracy in Ancient Greece. Monarchy. There are two types of monarchy one is a constitutional monarchy and the other is absolute monarchy. Absolute monarchs are really all powerful, they are able to pass laws and veto any law passed or suggested by politicians, a constitutional monarch has less power and is really only a figurehead as a head of state. In Ancient Greece there were not really a lot of monarchies, there was of course Sparta with its unique two King system. The two Kings come from the direct descendants of the founders of Sparta, they weren t really absolute monarchs because they had the ephors stopping them from taking too many decisions that could be harmful to the state (Cartwright, 2013). There were other monarchies in the times of Ancient Greece, most notably Macedonia, that went on to conquer Greece in 336 BCE (Brand, n.d. ,p36). Aristocracy. This was the rule of a few elite people. They were always the richest people and what we would call today the Lords or Ladies. They were the highest of the upper classes. This would have given them a good chance of perks and probably a good way of becoming wealthier (Mahabal, Joshi, 2017). Tyranny. A tyranny could be described as a government that would be ... • 30. Soybeans, Maize, And Rapeseed Essay Soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are raw commodities where the primary use is inputs in the feed, food, and drink industries. Appendix A Figure 2.A.1 lists the wide spectrum of food industries where soybeans, maize, and rapeseed are used as inputs. Since the value of these crops is low compared to the final products in which they are typically inputs infers that transport and storage must often be organized in bulk in order for operational and transaction costs to be kept low. The current supply chain structure in which these crops are traded creates several possibilities for impurities or co mingling. It is common practice in food safety regulations to allow a minimum presence of unintended materials like dirt, weed seeds, and mycotoxins in crop shipments (Backus et al. 2008). However, this may not always be the case regarding the unintended presence of traces of an unapproved GM event in the non GM crops (whether crops where no GM approvals have been made or crops where GM varieties have been commercialized). For example, the EU has a zero tolerance level for unapproved GM events in the shipments of crops. Thus, the case of asynchronous approval of GM varieties and differing thresholds for LLP among countries can lead to important impediments to trade. These can include returning, relocation, or destroying cargos of non GM varieties at the importing country s port as a result of the unintended presence of GM traits. Also, with the growing number of GM events being licensed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Life And Death In Donald Barthelme s The School Donald Barthelme s story, The School, takes on an untraditional way of explaining life and the meaning behind it. Donald Barthelme was an influential writer during the mid 1900 s and was an especially important part of flash fiction. Many of his stories were very short. His approach at writing enabled him to highlight his themes in an unusual way. He uses escalation to emphasize the deaths of plants and herbs going all the way to the death of people. Michael Byers, an assistant professor of English at the University of Michigan, writes about The School saying, curiosity, love, personal connection all sources of solace in the face of death, and once that solace arrives, the dead world returns to life (Byers). I agree with Byers that these things are sources of solace; however, I do not think Barthelme was trying to imply that after death we return to life. I believe Barthelme was trying to emphasize the meaning of life when answering the children s question by saying, life is that which gives meaning to life. He was saying that death is a natural part of human life which exists all around us. Barthelme emphasized his theme of life by using the escalation of death throughout the story. I think Barthelme wanted readers to see that life and death are the basis for existence and that one cannot exist without the other; humor through escalation is brought into effect to create the harsh contrast of life versus death. • 39. A Short Note On Ct Dose Calculation ( Ct ) iSAP CT Dose Calculation Introduction: The role of computed tomography (CT) in imaging has risen substantially in the previous decade (Hess et al. 2014). With its increasing demand, one of the most predominant concerns for radiation workers is the dose administered to the patient (Hess et al. 2014). Therefore, the calculation of dose is a parameter that must be monitored closely. Task 1: Exposure Exposure is the amount of electrical charge produced by ionising radiation per unit mass of air. It is measured in Coulomb per kilogram C kg 1, where its former unit was Roentgen (Schoepf 2005). Absorbed dose The absorbed dose is the energy (joules) deposited by ionising radiation per unit mass of material in kilograms, as a result of exposure to ionising radiation. The absorbed dose is therefore measured in J/kg or gray (Gy) where 1Gy = 1J/kg. The absorbed dose is calculated by multiplying exposure with W, where W is the conversion factor from exposure to absorbed dose depending on the absorbing medium (Siegel 2008). Equivalent dose The absorbed dose is a poor indicator of the likely biological effect, as the biological effect of the same absorbed dose will depend on the type of radiation. This is because the linear energy transfer of radiations that produce dense ionisation tracks cause more biological damage per unit dose than low linear energy transfer radiations, and thus must have higher radiation weighting factors. Therefore, the equivalent dose (HT) is measured ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
